FIRST READING 

“God says. And so it was " 

from the book of Genesis (1, 1-19) 

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the abyss, and the breath of God hovered above the waters.

God said, "Let there be light. " And there was light. God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day", he called the darkness "night". There was evening, there was morning: first day.

And God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters." God made the firmament, he divided the waters which were below the firmament and the waters above. And so it was. God called the firmament "sky". There was evening, there was morning: second day.

And God said, "The waters which are under the heaven, let them be gathered together in one place, and let the dry land appear." And so it was. God called the dry land “earth”, and he called the bulk of the water “sea”. And God saw that it was good.

God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the plant which bears his seed, and let the fruit tree on the earth bear, after his kind, the fruit which bears his seed." And so it was. The earth brought forth grass, and the plant which bears his seed after its kind, and the tree which bears the fruit which bears his seed after his kind. And God saw that it was good. There was evening, there was morning: the third day.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the sky, to separate the day from the night; that they serve as signs to mark feasts, days and years; and let them be lights to light up the earth in the firmament of the sky. And so it was. God made the two great lights: the larger to rule in the daytime, the smaller to rule in the night; he also made the stars. God placed them in the firmament of the sky to give light on the earth, to rule day and night, to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. There was evening, there was morning: the fourth day.

"He heals a lot of people with all kinds of diseases" 

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to  Mark (1, 29-39) 

At that time, as soon as they left the synagogue of Capernaum, Jesus and his disciples went, with James and John, to the house of Simon and Andrew. Now, Simon's mother-in-law was in bed, she had a fever. Immediately they spoke to Jesus about the sick woman. Jesus approached, took her by the hand and made her stand up. The fever left her, and she served them.

In the evening, after sunset, all those who were afflicted or possessed by demons were brought to him. The whole town was thronging to the door. He healed many people with all kinds of diseases, and he cast out many demons; he kept the demons from speaking, because they knew who he was.

The next day Jesus got up, well before dawn. He went out and went to a deserted place, and there he was praying. Simon and those who were with him set out to find him. They find him and say, “Everyone is looking for you. "Jesus said to them:" Let us go elsewhere, to the neighboring villages, so that there also I may proclaim the Gospel; because that's what I came out for. "

And he traveled throughout Galilee, proclaiming the gospel in their synagogues and expelling demons.

SECOND READING 

“Woe to me if I did not preach the Gospel! " 

from the first letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (9, 16-19.22-23) 

Brothers, proclaiming the Gospel is not a source of pride for me, it is a necessity that is imposed on me. Woe to me if I did not preach the Gospel! Certainly, if I do it on my own, I deserve a reward. But I don't do it on my own, it's a mission entrusted to me. So what is my merit? It is to proclaim the Gospel without seeking any material benefit, and without asserting my rights as a preacher of the Gospel. Yes, free with regard to all, I made myself the slave of all in order to gain as many as possible. With the weak, I was weak, to win over the weak. I did everything I could to save a few at all costs. And all this I do for the sake of the Gospel, to be part of it, too.

"I only count nights of suffering" 

READING from the book of Job (7, 1-4.6-7) 

Job spoke up and said, “Truly, man's life on earth is a chore, he makes days of maneuver. Like the slave who desires a little shade, like the laborer who awaits his pay, for months I have only shared nothing, I can only count nights of suffering. Barely in bed, I say to myself: “When can I get up?” The evening does not end: I am invaded by nightmares until dawn. My days are faster than the weaver's shuttle, they are ending for lack of thread. Remember, Lord: my life is but a breath, my eyes will no longer see happiness. "

பல்வேறு பிணிகளால் வருந்தியவரை இயேசு குணப்படுத்தினார். 

மாற்கு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 1: 29-39 

அக்காலத்தில் இயேசுவும் சீடர்களும் தொழுகைக்கூடத்தை விட்டு வெளியே வந்து யாக்கோபு, யோவானுடன் சீமோன், அந்திரேயா ஆகியோரின் வீட்டிற்குள் சென்றார்கள். சீமோனுடைய மாமியார் காய்ச்சலாய்க் கிடந்தார். உடனே அவர்கள் அதைப்பற்றி இயேசுவிடம் சொன்னார்கள். இயேசு அவர் அருகில் சென்று கையைப் பிடித்து அவரைத் தூக்கினார். காய்ச்சல் அவரைவிட்டு நீங்கிற்று. அவர் அவர்களுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்தார். மாலை வேளையில், கதிரவன் மறையும் நேரத்தில் நோயாளர்கள், பேய்பிடித்தவர்கள் அனைவரையும் மக்கள் அவரிடம் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள். நகர் முழுவதும் வீட்டு வாயில்முன் கூடியிருந்தது. பல்வேறு பிணிகளால் வருந்திய பலரை அவர் குணப்படுத்தினார். பல பேய்களையும் ஓட்டினார்; அந்தப் பேய்கள் அவரை அறிந்திருந்ததால் அவற்றை அவர் பேசவிடவில்லை. இயேசு விடியற்காலைக் கருக்கலில் எழுந்து தனிமையான ஓர் இடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார். அங்கே அவர் இறைவனிடம் வேண்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். சீமோனும் அவருடன் இருந்தவர்களும் அவரைத் தேடிச் சென்றார்கள். அவரைக் கண்டதும், ``எல்லாரும் உம்மைத் தேடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்'' என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவர், ``நாம் அடுத்த ஊர்களுக்குப் போவோம், வாருங்கள். அங்கும் நான் நற்செய்தியைப் பறைசாற்ற வேண்டும்; ஏனெனில் இதற்காகவே நான் வந்திருக்கிறேன்'' என்று சொன்னார். பின்பு அவர் கலிலேய நாடுமுழுவதும் சென்று அவர்களுடைய தொழுகைக்கூடங்களில் நற்செய்தியைப் பறைசாற்றிப் பேய்களை ஓட்டி வந்தார். 

இது கிறிஸ்து வழங்கும் நற்செய்தி.

இரண்டாம் வாசகம் 

நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்காவிடில் ஐயோ எனக்குக் கேடு! 

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய முதல் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 9: 16-19, 22-23 

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, நான் நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்கிறேன் என்றாலும் அதில் நான் பெருமைப்பட ஒன்றுமில்லை. இதைச் செய்யவேண்டிய கட்டாயம் எனக்கு உள்ளது. நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்காவிடில் ஐயோ எனக்குக் கேடு! இதை நானாக விரும்பிச் செய்தால் எனக்குக் கைம்மாறு உண்டு. நானாக விரும்பாவிட்டாலும் இது என்னிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள பொறுப்பாக இருக்கிறது. அப்படியானால், எனக்குக் கைம்மாறு என்ன? உங்களுக்கு எச்செலவுமின்றி நற்செய்தியை அறிவிப்பதிலுள்ள மனநிறைவே அக்கைம்மாறு; நான் நற்செய்தி அறிவிப்போருக்குரிய உரிமையைக் கொஞ்சம்கூடப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொள்ளவில்லை. நான் யாருக்கும் அடிமையாய் இல்லாதிருந்தும் பலரைக் கிறிஸ்துவிடம் கொண்டுவர என்னை எல்லாருக்கும் அடிமையாக்கிக்கொண்டேன். வலுவற்றவர்களைக் கிறிஸ்துவிடம் கொண்டுவர வலுவற்றவர்களுக்கு வலுவற்றவனானேன். எப்படியாவது ஒரு சிலரையேனும் மீட்கும்படி நான் எல்லாருக்கும் எல்லாம் ஆனேன். நற்செய்தியால் வரும் ஆசியில் பங்கு பெற வேண்டி, நற்செய்திக்காக எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்கிறேன். 

இது ஆண்டவர் வழங்கும் அருள்வாக்கு.

அல்லேலூயா, அல்லேலூயா! இயேசு நம் பிணிகளைத் தாங்கிக் கொண்டார்; நம் துன்பங்களைச் சுமந்துகொண்டார். அல்லேலூயா.
