நாங்கள் பயனற்ற பணியாளர்கள்; எங்கள் கடமையைத்தான் செய்தோம்.

அக்காலத்தில்

ஆண்டவர் உரைத்தது: “உங்கள் பணியாளர் உழுதுவிட்டோ மந்தையை மேய்த்துவிட்டோ வயல்வெளியிலிருந்து வரும்போது அவரிடம், ‘நீர் உடனே வந்து உணவருந்த அமரும்’ என்று உங்களில் எவராவது சொல்வாரா? மாறாக, ‘எனக்கு உணவு ஏற்பாடு செய்யும்; உம் இடையை வரிந்துகட்டிக் கொண்டு, நான் உண்டு குடிக்கும்வரை எனக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்யும்; அதன்பிறகு நீர் உண்டு குடிக்கலாம்’ என்று சொல்வார் அல்லவா? தாம் பணித்ததைச் செய்ததற்காக அவர் தம் பணியாளருக்கு நன்றி கூறுவாரோ? அது போலவே, நீங்களும் உங்களுக்குப் பணிக்கப்பட்ட யாவற்றையும் செய்தபின், ‘நாங்கள் பயனற்ற பணியாளர்கள்; எங்கள் கடமையைத்தான் செய்தோம்’ எனச் சொல்லுங்கள்.”

நான் ஆண்டவரைப் பற்றிப் பெருமையாகப் பேசுவேன்; எளியோர் இதைக் கேட்டு அக்களிப்பர். - பல்லவி

ஆண்டவர் கண்கள் நீதிமான்களை நோக்குகின்றன; அவர் செவிகள் அவர்களது மன்றாட்டைக் கேட்கின்றன.

ஆண்டவரின் முகமோ தீமைசெய்வோர்க்கு எதிராக இருக்கின்றது; அவர், அவர்களின் நினைவே உலகில் அற்றுப்போகச் செய்வார். - பல்லவி

என்மீது அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளவர் நான் சொல்வதைக் கடைப்பிடிப்பார். என் தந்தையும் அவர்மீது அன்பு கொள்வார். நாங்கள் அவரிடம் வந்து அவருடன் குடிகொள்வோம், என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர். அல்லேலூயா.

அறிவிலிகளின் கண்களில் இறந்தவர்களைப் போல் இருந்தவர்கள் அமைதியாக இளைப்பாறுகிறார்கள்.

சாலமோனின் ஞான நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 2: 23- 3: 9

கடவுள் மனிதர்களை அழியாமைக்கென்று படைத்தார்; தம் சொந்த இயல்பின் சாயலில் அவர்களை உருவாக்கினார். ஆனால் அலகையின் பொறாமையால் சாவு உலகில் நுழைந்தது. அதைச் சார்ந்து நிற்போர் இறப்புக்கு உள்ளாவர்.

நீதிமான்களின் ஆன்மாக்கள் கடவுளின் கையில் உள்ளன. கடுந்தொல்லை எதுவும் அவர்களைத் தீண்டாது. அறிவிலிகளின் கண்களில் இறந்தவர்களைப் போல் அவர்கள் தோன்றினார்கள். நீதிமான்களின் பிரிவு பெருந்துன்பமாகக் கருதப்பட்டது. அவர்கள் நம்மை விட்டுப் பிரிந்து சென்றது பேரழிவாகக் கருதப்பட்டது. அவர்களோ அமைதியாக இளைப்பாறுகிறார்கள். மனிதர் பார்வையில் அவர்கள் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டாலும், இறவாமையில் அவர்கள் உறுதியான நம்பிக்கை கொண்டுள்ளார்கள்.

சிறிதளவு அவர்கள் கண்டித்துத் திருத்தப்பட்டபின், பேரளவு கைம்மாறு பெறுவார்கள். கடவுள் அவர்களைச் சோதித்தறிந்தபின், அவர்களைத் தமக்குத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்கள் என்று கண்டார். பொன்னை உலையிலிட்டுப் புடமிடுவது போல் அவர் அவர்களைப் புடமிட்டார்; எரிபலி போல் அவர்களை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார். கடவுள் அவர்களைச் சந்திக்க வரும்போது அவர்கள் ஒளிவீசுவார்கள்; அரிதாள் நடுவே தீப்பொறி போலப் பரந்து சுடர்விடுவார்கள்; நாடுகளுக்குத் தீர்ப்பு வழங்குவார்கள்; மக்கள்மீது ஆட்சிசெலுத்துவார்கள். ஆண்டவரோ அவர்கள்மீது என்றென்றும் அரசாள்வார்.

அவரை நம்புவோர் உண்மையை அறிந்துகொள்வர்; அன்பில் நம்பிக்கை கொள்வோர் அவரோடு நிலைத்திருப்பர். அருளும் இரக்கமும் அவர் தேர்ந்து கொண்டோர்மீது இருக்கும்.

At that time: Jesus said, “Will any one of you who has a servant ploughing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterwards you will eat and drink’? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’ ”

The souls of the virtuous are in the hands of God

A reading from the book of Wisdom 2: 23-3:9 

God created mankind for incorruption and made him in the image of his own character, but through the devil’s envy death entered the world, and those who belong to his party experience it. But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be an evil thing, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of men they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial whole burnt offering he accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth and will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them for ever. Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches over his chosen.
