ஏழைகளே நீங்கள் பேறு பெற்றோர்; செல்வர்களே ஐயோ! உங்களுக்குக் கேடு!

✠ லூக்கா எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 6: 20-26

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு சீடர்மீது தம் பார்வையைப் பதித்துக் கூறியவை: “ஏழைகளே, நீங்கள் பேறுபெற்றோர்; ஏனெனில் இறையாட்சி உங்களுக்கு உரியதே. இப்பொழுது பட்டினியாய் இருப்போரே, நீங்கள் பேறுபெற்றோர்; ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் நிறைவு பெறுவீர்கள். இப்பொழுது அழுதுகொண்டிருப்போரே, நீங்கள் பேறுபெற்றோர்; ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் சிரித்து மகிழ்வீர்கள்.

மானிடமகன் பொருட்டு மக்கள் உங்களை வெறுத்து, ஒதுக்கிவைத்து, நீங்கள் பொல்லாதவர் என்று இகழ்ந்து தள்ளிவிடும்போது நீங்கள் பேறுபெற்றோர். அந்நாளில் துள்ளி மகிழ்ந்து கொண்டாடுங்கள்; ஏனெனில் விண்ணுலகில் உங்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் கைம்மாறு மிகுதியாகும். அவர்களுடைய மூதாதையரும் இறைவாக்கினருக்கு இவ்வாறே செய்து வந்தனர்.

ஆனால் செல்வர்களே ஐயோ! உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் எல்லாம் அனுபவித்துவிட்டீர்கள். இப்போது உண்டு கொழுத்திருப்போரே, ஐயோ! உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! ஏனெனில் பட்டினி கிடப்பீர்கள். இப்போது சிரித்து இன்புறுவோரே, ஐயோ! உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! ஏனெனில் துயருற்று அழுவீர்கள். மக்கள் எல்லாரும் உங்களைப் புகழ்ந்து பேசும்போது ஐயோ! உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! ஏனெனில் அவர்களின் மூதாதையரும் போலி இறைவாக்கினருக்கு இவ்வாறே செய்தார்கள்.”

நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவோடு இறந்துவிட்டீர்கள். உலகப் போக்கிலான உங்கள் இயல்புக்குரியவற்றை ஒழித்துவிடுங்கள்.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவோடு உயிர்பெற்று எழுந்தவர்களானால் மேலுலகு சார்ந்தவற்றை நாடுங்கள். அங்குக் கிறிஸ்து கடவுளின் வலப் பக்கத்தில் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறார். இவ்வுலகு சார்ந்தவைபற்றி அல்ல, மேலுலகு சார்ந்தவை பற்றியே எண்ணுங்கள். ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவோடு இறந்து விட்டீர்கள். உங்கள் வாழ்வு அவரோடு இணைந்து கடவுளிடம் மறைந்து இருக்கிறது. கிறிஸ்துவே உங்களுக்கு வாழ்வு அளிப்பவர். அவர் தோன்றும்பொழுது நீங்களும் அவரோடு மாட்சி பொருந்தியவராய்த் தோன்றுவீர்கள்.

ஆகவே உலகப் போக்கிலான உங்கள் இயல்புக்குரிய பரத்தைமை, ஒழுக்கக் கேடு, கட்டுக்கடங்காத பாலுணர்வு, தீய நாட்டம், சிலை வழிபாடான பேராசை ஆகியவற்றை ஒழித்துவிடுங்கள். இவையே கீழ்ப்படியா மக்கள்மீது கடவுளின் சினத்தை வரவழைக்கின்றன. இத்தகையவர்களோடு நீங்கள் வாழ்ந்தபோது நீங்களும் இவற்றில்தான் உழன்றீர்கள். ஆனால் இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் சினம், சீற்றம், தீமை ஆகிய அனைத்தையும் அகற்றிவிடுங்கள். பழிப்புரை, வெட்கக்கேடான பேச்சு ஆகிய எதுவும் உங்கள் வாயினின்று வரக்கூடாது. ஒருவரோடு ஒருவர் பொய் பேசாதீர்கள். ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் பழைய மனித இயல்பையும் அதற்குரிய செயல்களையும் களைந்துவிட்டு, புதிய மனித இயல்பை அணிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள். அவ்வியல்பு தன்னை உண்டாக்கினவரின் சாயலுக்கேற்பப் புதுப்பிக்கப்படுகிறது. இவ்வாறு நீங்கள் கடவுளை முழுமையாய் அறிய முடியும். புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் கிரேக்கர் என்றும், யூதர் என்றும், விருத்தசேதனம் பெற்றவர் என்றும், விருத்தசேதனம் பெறாதவர் என்றும், நாகரிகம் அற்றோர் என்றும், சீத்தியர் என்றும், அடிமை என்றும், உரிமைக் குடிமக்கள் என்றும் வேறுபாடு இல்லை. கிறிஸ்துவே அனைவருள்ளும் அனைத்துமாய் இருப்பார்.

Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets. But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. A reading from the letter of St.Paul to the Colossians 3: 1-11

Brethren: If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.
