and lead me to your holy mountain,

“There were a lot of lepers in Israel; and none of them was purified, but Naaman the Syrian ” 

Reading from the second book of Kings (5, 1-15a) 

In those days Naaman, general of the army of the king of Aram, was a man of great valor and highly esteemed by his master, for it was through him that the Lord had given victory to the kingdom of Aram. . Now this valiant warrior was a leper. Some Aramaeans, during an expedition to the land of Israel, had taken prisoner a girl who was placed in the service of Naaman's wife. She said to her mistress: “Ah! if my master spoke to the prophet who is in Samaria, he would deliver him from his leprosy. Naaman went to the king and said to him, "This is what the maiden of Israel said. "The king of Aram answered him," Go, get on your way. I am sending a letter to the King of Israel. "

Naaman therefore left; he took ten ingots of silver, six thousand pieces of gold, and ten festive garments. He delivered the letter to the king of Israel. It read: "At the same time as this letter reaches you, I am sending you Naaman my servant, to deliver him from his leprosy." When the king of Israel read this message, he tore his clothes and cried, "Am I God, master of life and death? This king is sending me a man to deliver him from his leprosy! You can see it clearly: it is a provocation! When Elisha, the man of God, heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he made him say, "Why did you tear your clothes? Let this man come to me, and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel. "

Naaman came with his horses and chariot, and stopped at the door of Elisha's house. Elisha sent a messenger to say to him: "Go and bathe yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will become clean again, you will be cleansed." Naaman got angry and walked away saying: "I said to myself: Surely he will come out, and stand up to call on the name of the Lord his God; then he'll wave his hand over the sick spot and heal my leprosy. Are the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Parpar, not better than all the waters of Israel? If I bathed in it, wouldn't I be purified? He turned bridle and left in anger. But his servants approached him to say: “Father! If the prophet had ordered you to do something difficult, you would have done it, right? அக்காலத்தில்

யூதர்களுடைய பாஸ்கா விழா விரைவில் வரவிருந்ததால் இயேசு எருசலேமுக்குச் சென்றார்; கோவிலில் ஆடு, மாடு, புறா விற்போரையும் அங்கே உட்கார்ந்திருந்த நாணயம் மாற்றுவோரையும் கண்டார்; அப்போது கயிறுகளால் ஒரு சாட்டை பின்னி, அவர்கள் எல்லாரையும் கோவிலிலிருந்து துரத்தினார்; ஆடு மாடுகளையும் விரட்டினார்; நாணயம் மாற்றுவோரின் சில்லறைக் காசுகளைக் கொட்டிவிட்டு மேசைகளையும் கவிழ்த்துப் போட்டார். அவர் புறா விற்பவர்களிடம், “இவற்றை இங்கிருந்து எடுத் துச் செல்லுங்கள்; என் தந்தையின் இல்லத்தைச் சந்தை ஆக்காதீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார். அப்போது அவருடைய சீடர்கள், “உம் இல்லத்தின்மீதுள்ள ஆர்வம் என்னை எரித்துவிடும்” என்று மறைநூலில் எழுதியுள்ளதை நினைவு கூர்ந்தார்கள்.

யூதர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து, “இவற்றையெல்லாம் செய்ய உமக்கு உரிமை உண்டு என்பதற்கு நீர் காட்டும் அடையாளம் என்ன?” என்று கேட்டார்கள். இயேசு மறுமொழியாக அவர்களிடம், “இக்கோவிலை இடித்துவிடுங்கள். நான் மூன்று நாளில் இதைக் கட்டி எழுப்புவேன்” என்றார். அப்போது யூதர்கள், “இந்தக் கோவிலைக் கட்ட நாற்பத்தாறு ஆண்டுகள் ஆயிற்றே! நீர் மூன்றே நாளில் இதைக் கட்டி எழுப்பிவிடுவீரோ?” என்று கேட்டார்கள். ஆனால் அவர் தம் உடலாகிய கோவிலைப்பற்றியே பேசினார். அவர் இறந்து உயிருடன் எழுப்பப்பட்டபோது அவருடைய சீடர் அவர் இவ்வாறு சொல்லியிருந்ததை நினைவுகூர்ந்து மறைநூலையும் இயேசுவின் கூற்றையும் நம்பினர்.

பாஸ்கா விழாவின்போது இயேசு எருசலேமில் இருந்த வேளையில் அவர் செய்த அரும் அடையாளங்களைக் கண்டு பலர் அவரது பெயரில் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தனர். ஆனால் இயேசு அவர்களை நம்பிவிடவில்லை; ஏனெனில் அவருக்கு அனைவரைப்பற்றியும் தெரியும். மனிதரைப் பற்றி அவருக்கு யாரும் எடுத்துச்சொல்லத் தேவையில்லை. ஏனெனில் மனித உள்ளத்தில் இருப்பதை அவர் அறிந்திருந்தார்.

யூதர்கள் அரும் அடையாளங்கள் வேண்டும் என்று கேட்கிறார்கள்; கிரேக்கர் ஞானத்தை நாடுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் நாங்கள் சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றிப் பறைசாற்றுகிறோம். அச்சிலுவை யூதருக்குத் தடைக் கல்லாகவும் பிற இனத்தாருக்கு மடமையாயும் இருக்கிறது. ஆனால் அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், யூதரானாலும் கிரேக்கரானாலும், அவர்களுக்குக் கிறிஸ்து கடவுளின் வல்லமையும் ஞானமுமாய் இருக்கிறார். ஏனெனில் மனித ஞானத்தை விடக் கடவுளின் மடமை ஞானம் மிக்கது; மனித வலிமையைவிட அவருடைய வலுவின்மை வலிமை மிக்கது.

தம் ஒரே மகன்மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளும் எவரும் அழியாமல் நிலைவாழ்வு பெறும் பொருட்டு அந்த மகனையே அளிக்கும் அளவுக்கு கடவுள் உலகின் மேல் அன்புகூர்ந்தார்.

மோசே மக்களிடம் கூறியது:

கடவுள் அருளிய வார்த்தைகள் இவையே: நானே உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர்; அடிமை வீடாகிய எகிப்து நாட்டினின்று உன்னை வெளியேறச் செய்தவர். என்னைத் தவிர வேறு தெய்வங்கள் உனக்கிருத்தல் ஆகாது. மேலே விண்வெளியில், கீழே மண்ணுலகில், பூமிக்கடியே நீர்த்திரளில் உள்ள யாதொன்றின் சிலையையோ ஓவியத்தையோ நீ உருவாக்க வேண்டாம். நீ அவைகளை வழிபடவோ அவற்றிற்குப் பணிவிடை புரியவோ வேண்டாம். ஏனெனில் உன் கடவுளும் ஆண்டவருமாகிய நான் இதைச் சகித்துக் கொள்ளமாட்டேன்; என்னைப் புறக்கணிக்கும் மூதாதையரின் பாவங்களைப் பிள்ளைகள் மேல் மூன்றாம் நான்காம் தலைமுறை மட்டும் தண்டித்துத் தீர்ப்பேன். மாறாக என்மீது அன்புகூர்ந்து என் விதிமுறைகளைக் கடைப்பிடிப்போருக்கு ஆயிரம் தலைமுறைக்கும் பேரன்பு காட்டுவேன்.

உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவரின் பெயரை வீணாகப் பயன்படுத்தாதே; ஏனெனில், தம் பெயரை வீணாகப் பயன்படுத்துபவரை ஆண்டவர் தண்டியாது விடார்.

ஓய்வு நாளைத் தூயதாகக் கடைப்பிடிப்பதில் கருத்தாயிரு. ஆறு நாள்கள் நீ உழைத்து உன் அனைத்து வேலையையும் செய்வாய். ஏழாம் நாளோ உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவருக்கான ஓய்வு நாள். எனவே அன்று நீயும் உன் மகனும் மகளும் உன் அடிமையும் அடிமைப் பெண்ணும் உன் கால்நடைகளும் உன் நகர்களுக்குள் இருக்கும் அன்னியனும் யாதொரு வேலையும் செய்ய வேண்டாம். ஏனெனில், ஆண்டவர் ஆறு நாள்களில் விண்ணுலகையும், மண்ணுலகையும், கடலையும், அவற்றிலுள்ள அனைத்தையும் படைத்து ஏழாம் நாளில் ஓய்ந்திருந்தார். இவ்வாறு ஆண்டவர் ஓய்வுநாளுக்கு ஆசிவழங்கி அதனைப் புனிதப்படுத்தினார்.

"Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up" 

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To John (2, 13-25) 

As the Jewish Passover was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the Temple he found installed the merchants of oxen, sheep and doves, and the money changers. He made a whip with cords, and drove them all out of the temple, as well as the sheep and the oxen; he threw the moneychangers' money on the ground, knocked over their counters, and said to the dove-merchants, "Get that out of here." Stop making my Father's house a house of commerce. His disciples remembered that it is written: The love of your house will torment me. Jews called out to him, "What sign can you give us to do this? Jesus answered them, "Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews replied, "It took forty-six years to build this sanctuary, and you, in three days you would raise it up!"

Also, when he awoke from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; they believed the scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

While he was in Jerusalem for the Passover feast, many believed on his name, seeing the signs he was performing. Jesus did not trust them because he knew them all and did not need any testimony about man; he himself, in fact, knew what is in man.
