I listen: what will the Lord God say?

What he is saying is peace for his people and his followers.

His salvation is near to those who fear him,

and glory will dwell in our earth. R 

Love and truth meet,

justice and peace embrace;

truth will sprout from earth

and from heaven will lean righteousness. R 

The Lord will give his blessings,

and our land will yield its fruit.

Righteousness will walk before him,

and his footsteps will make the way. R

FIRST READING 

"God himself shone in our hearts to make the knowledge of his glory shine" 

A Reading from the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (3, 15 - 4, 1.3-6) 

Brethren, even today, when the children of Israel read the books of Moses, a veil covers their hearts. When we convert to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is freedom. And all of us who have no veil on our faces, we reflect the glory of the Lord, and we are transformed into his image with greater and greater glory, by the action of the Lord who is Spirit.

Therefore, having received this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. And even if the Gospel which we announce remains veiled, it is veiled only for those who go to their destruction, for the unbelievers whose intelligence has been blinded by the evil god of this world; this prevents them from seeing clearly, in the splendor of the Gospel, the glory of Christ, he who is the image of God. Indeed, what we proclaim is not ourselves; it is this: Jesus Christ is the Lord; and we are your servants, because of Jesus. For God who said: From the midst of darkness the light will shine, he himself has shone in our hearts to make shine forth the knowledge of his glory which shines on the face of Christ.

இயேசு தம் சீடரை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: “திருச்சட்டத்தையோ இறைவாக்குகளையோ நான் அழிக்க வந்தேன் என நீங்கள் எண்ண வேண்டாம்; அவற்றை அழிப்பதற்கல்ல, நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கே வந்தேன்.

விண்ணும் மண்ணும் ஒழிந்து போகுமுன் திருச்சட்டம் யாவும் நிறைவேறும். அதன் ஒரு சிற்றெழுத்தோ ஒரு புள்ளியோ ஒழியாது என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

எனவே, இக்கட்டளைகளில் மிகச் சிறியது ஒன்றையேனும் மீறி அவ்வாறே மக்களுக்கும் கற்பிக்கிறவர் விண்ணரசில் மிகச் சிறியவர் எனக் கருதப்படுவார். இவை அனைத்தையும் கடைப்பிடித்துக் கற்பிக்கிறவரோ விண்ணரசில் பெரியவர் எனக் கருதப்படுவார்.”

புதிய உடன்படிக்கையின் பணியாளராகும் தகுதியைக் கடவுள் எங்களுக்குத் தந்தார்.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய இரண்டாம் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 3: 4-11

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

கிறிஸ்துவின் வழியாய் நாங்கள் கடவுள்மேல் வைத்துள்ள உறுதியான நம்பிக்கையால்தான் இவ்வாறு சொல்லுகிறோம். நாங்களே செய்ததாக எதன்மேலும் உரிமை பாராட்டிக்கொள்ள எங்களுக்குத் தகுதி இல்லை. எங்கள் தகுதி கடவுளிடம் இருந்தே வருகிறது. அவரே புதிய உடன்படிக்கையின் பணியாளராகும் தகுதியை எங்களுக்குத் தந்தார். அவ்வுடன்படிக்கை, எழுதப்பட்ட சட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்ததல்ல; தூய ஆவியையே சார்ந்தது. ஏனெனில் எழுதப்பட்ட சட்டத்தால் விளைவது சாவு; தூய ஆவியால் விளைவது வாழ்வு.

கற்களில் பொறிக்கப்பட்ட அச்சட்டம் சார்ந்த திருப்பணி சாவை விளைவிப்பதாய் இருந்தும் அது மாட்சியுடன் அருளப்பட்டது. விரைவில் மறையவேண்டியதாய் இருந்த அம்மாட்சி மோசேயின் முகத்தில் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் பார்க்க முடியாத அளவுக்கு ஒளி வீசியது. அதுவே அப்படியிருந்தது என்றால் தூய ஆவி சார்ந்த திருப்பணி எத்துணை மாட்சி பொருந்தியதாய் இருக்கும்! தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பு அளிக்கும் திருப்பணியே இத்துணை மாட்சி பொருந்தியதாய் இருந்தது என்றால் விடுதலைத் தீர்ப்பு அளிக்கும் திருப்பணி எத்துணை மாட்சி நிறைந்ததாய் இருக்கும்! அன்றைய மாட்சியை ஒப்புயர்வற்ற இன்றைய மாட்சியோடு ஒப்பிட்டால் அது மாட்சியே அல்ல. மறையப் போவது மாட்சி உடையதாய் இருந்தால் நிலையாக இருப்பது எத்துணை மாட்சி மிகுந்ததாய் இருக்கும்!

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets: I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you: Before heaven and earth disappear, not a single iota, not a single stroke will disappear from the Law until it all comes true. So whoever rejects one of these smaller commandments, and teaches men to do so, will be declared the least in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever observes them and teaches them, that one will be declared great in the kingdom of Heaven. "
