THE ANOINTED BEARER OF GLAD TIDINGS

A Reading from the Book of Isaiah 61:1-3

The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the afflicted, to bind up the brokenhearted,To proclaim liberty to the captives, release to the prisoners,To announce a year of favor from the LORD and a day of vindication by our God; To comfort all who mourn;to place on those who mourn in Zion a diadem instead of ashes,To give them oil of gladness instead of mourning,a glorious mantle instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of justice, the planting of the LORD to show his glory.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தூய ஆவியால் பேருவகையடைந்து, “தந்தையே, விண்ணுக்கும் மண்ணுக்கும் ஆண்டவரே, உம்மைப் போற்றுகிறேன். ஏனெனில் ஞானிகளுக்கும் அறிஞர்களுக்கும் இவற்றை மறைத்து, குழந்தைகளுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தினீர். ஆம், தந்தையே, இதுவே உமது திருவுளம்” என்றார். “என் தந்தை எல்லாவற்றையும் என்னிடத்தில் ஒப்படைத்திருக்கிறார். தந்தையைத் தவிர வேறு எவரும் மகனை அறியார். தந்தை யாரென்று மகனுக்குத் தெரியும்; மகன் யாருக்கு வெளிப்படுத்த விரும்புகிறாரோ அவருக்கும் தெரியும். வேறு எவரும் தந்தையை அறியார்” என்று கூறினார்.

பின்பு அவர் தம் சீடர் பக்கம் திரும்பி அவர்களிடம் தனியாக, “நீங்கள் காண்பவற்றைக் காணும் வாய்ப்புப் பெற்றோர் பேறுபெற்றோர். ஏனெனில் பல இறைவாக்கினர்களும் அரசர்களும் நீங்கள் காண்பவற்றைக் காண விரும்பினார்கள். ஆனால், அவர்கள் காணவில்லை. நீங்கள் கேட்பவற்றைக் கேட்க விரும்பினார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் கேட்கவில்லை என நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

அவர் உம் மக்களை நீதியோடு ஆள்வாராக! உம்முடையவரான எளியோர்க்கு நீதித்தீர்ப்பு வழங்குவாராக! - பல்லவி

அவர் பெயர் என்றென்றும் நிலைத்திருப்பதாக! கதிரவன் உள்ளவரையில் அவர் பெயர் நிலைப்பதாக! அவர்மூலம் மனிதர் ஆசிபெற விழைவராக! எல்லா நாட்டினரும் அவரை நற்பேறு பெற்றவரென வாழ்த்துவராக! - பல்லவி

நற்செய்திக்கு முன் வாழ்த்தொலி

அல்லேலூயா, அல்லேலூயா! 

இதோ! நம் ஆண்டவர் வல்லமையுடன் வருவார்; தம் ஊழியரின் கண்களுக்கு ஒளி தருவார். அல்லேலூயா.

ஆண்டவருக்குரிய நாளில்

ஈசாய் என்னும் அடிமரத்திலிருந்து தளிர் ஒன்று துளிர்விடும்; அதன் வேர்களிலிருந்து கிளை ஒன்று வளர்ந்து கனிதரும். ஆண்டவரின் ஆவி அவர்மேல் தங்கியிருக்கும்; ஞானம், மெய்யுணர்வு, அறிவுரைத்திறன், ஆற்றல், நுண்மதி, ஆண்டவரைப்பற்றிய அச்ச உணர்வு — இவற்றை அந்த ஆவி அவருக்கு அருளும். அவரும் ஆண்டவருக்கு அஞ்சி நடப்பதில் மகிழ்ந்திருப்பார்.

கண் கண்டதைக் கொண்டு மட்டும் அவர் நீதி வழங்கார்; காதால் கேட்டதைக் கொண்டு மட்டும் அவர் தீர்ப்புச் செய்யார்; நேர்மையோடு ஏழைகளுக்கு நீதி வழங்குவார்; நடுநிலையோடு நாட்டின் எளியோரது வழக்கை விசாரிப்பார்; வார்த்தை எனும் கோலினால் கொடியவரை அடிப்பார்; உதட்டில் எழும் மூச்சினால் தீயோரை அழிப்பார். நேர்மை அவருக்கு அரைக்கச்சை; உண்மை அவருக்கு இடைக்கச்சை.

அந்நாளில், ஓநாய் செம்மறியாட்டுக் குட்டியோடு தங்கியிருக்கும்; அக்குட்டியோடு சிறுத்தைப் புலி படுத்துக் கொள்ளும். கன்றும், சிங்கக்குட்டியும், கொழுத்த காளையும் கூடி வாழும்; பச்சிளம் குழந்தை அவற்றை நடத்திச் செல்லும். பசுவும் கரடியும் ஒன்றாய் மேயும்; அவற்றின் குட்டிகள் சேர்ந்து படுத்துக்கிடக்கும்; சிங்கம் மாட்டைப் போல் வைக்கோல் தின்னும்; பால் குடிக்கும் குழந்தை விரியன் பாம்பின் வளையில் விளையாடும்; பால்குடி மறந்த பிள்ளை கட்டுவிரியன் வளையினுள் தன் கையை விடும். என் திருமலை முழுவதிலும் தீமை செய்வார் எவருமில்லை; கேடு விளைவிப்பார் யாருமில்லை; ஏனெனில், கடல் தண்ணீரால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது போல, மண்ணுலகம் ஆண்டவராம் என்னைப் பற்றிய அறிவால் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.

அந்நாளில், மக்களினங்களுக்குச் சின்னமாய் விளங்கும் ஈசாயின் வேரைப் பிற இனத்தார் தேடி வருவார்கள்; அவர் இளைப்பாறும் இடம் மாட்சி நிறைந்ததாக இருக்கும்.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Luke 10: 21-24 

At that hour: Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”

A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah 11:1-10 

On that day: There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see,

or decide disputes by what his ears hear, but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,

and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples— of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting-place shall be glorious.
