திருமுழுக்கு யோவானை விடப் பெரியவர் எவரும் தோன்றியதில்லை

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு மக்கள் கூட்டத்துக்குக் கூறியது: “மனிதராய்ப் பிறந்தவர்களுள் திருமுழுக்கு யோவானைவிடப் பெரியவர் எவரும் தோன்றியதில்லை. ஆயினும் விண்ணரசில் மிகச் சிறியவரும் அவரினும் பெரியவரே என நான் உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன். திருமுழுக்கு யோவானின் காலமுதல் இந்நாள்வரையிலும் விண்ணரசு வன்மையாகத் தாக்கப்படுகின்றது. தாக்குகின்றவர்கள் அதைக் கைப்பற்றிக் கொள்கின்றனர். திருச்சட்டமும் எல்லா இறைவாக்கு நூல்களும் யோவான் வரும்வரை இறைவாக்குரைத்தன. உங்களுக்கு விருப்பம் இருந்தால் வரவேண்டிய எலியா இவரே என ஏற்றுக்கொள்வீர்கள். கேட்கச் செவியுள்ளோர் கேட்கட்டும்.”

ஆண்டவர் எல்லாருக்கும் நன்மை செய்பவர்; தாம் உண்டாக்கிய அனைத்தின்மீதும் இரக்கம் காட்டுபவர். - பல்லவி

ஆண்டவரே, நீர் உருவாக்கிய யாவும் உமக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும்; உம்முடைய அன்பர்கள் உம்மைப் போற்றுவார்கள்.

அவர்கள் உமது அரசின் மாட்சியை அறிவிப்பார்கள்; உமது வல்லமையைப் பற்றிப் பேசுவார்கள். - பல்லவி

இஸ்ரயேலின் தூயவரே உன் மீட்பர்.

நானே உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர்; உன் வலக்கையைப் பற்றிப் பிடித்து, “அஞ்சாதே, உனக்குத் துணையாய் இருப்பேன்” என்று உன்னிடம் சொல்பவரும் நானே.

“யாக்கோபு என்னும் புழுவே, இஸ்ரயேல் என்னும் பொடிப்பூச்சியே, அஞ்சாதிரு; நான் உனக்குத் துணையாய் இருப்பேன்,” என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர். இஸ்ரயேலின் தூயவரே உன் மீட்பர். இதோ, நான் உன்னைப் புதிய கூர்மையான போரடிக்கும் கருவியாக்குவேன். நீ மலைகளைப் போரடித்து நொறுக்குவாய்; குன்றுகளைத் தவிடுபொடியாக்குவாய். அவற்றைத் தூற்றுவாய், காற்று அவற்றை வாரிக்கொண்டுபோம்; புயல் அவற்றைச் சிதறடிக்கும்; ஆண்டவரில் நீ அகமகிழ்வாய்; இஸ்ரயேலின் தூயவரில் மேன்மை அடைவாய்.

ஏழைகளும் வறியோரும் நீரைத் தேடுகின்றனர்; அது கிடைக்கவில்லை. அவர்கள் தாகத்தால் நாவறண்டு போகின்றனர்; ஆண்டவராகிய நான் அவர்களுக்குப் பதிலளிப்பேன்; இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய நான் அவர்களைக் கைவிடமாட்டேன். பொட்டல் மேடுகளைப் பிளந்து ஆறுகள் தோன்றச் செய்வேன்; பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் நீரூற்றுகள் புறப்படச் செய்வேன்; பாலைநிலத்தை நீர்த் தடாகங்களாகவும் வறண்ட நிலத்தை நீர்ச் சுனைகளாகவும் மாற்றுவேன்.

பாலைநிலத்தில் கேதுரு மரங்களை வளரச் செய்வேன்; சித்திம் மரம், மிருதுச் செடி, ஒலிவ மரம் ஆகியன தோன்றச் செய்வேன்; பாழ்நிலத்தில் தேவதாரு மரங்களையும், புன்னை மரங்களையும், ஊசியிலை மரங்களையும் வைப்பேன். அப்போது, ஆண்டவர் தம் ஆற்றலால் இதைச்செய்தார் என்றும் இஸ்ரயேலின் தூயவர் அதைப் படைத்தார் என்றும் மக்கள் கண்டு உணர்ந்து கொள்வர்; ஒருங்கே சிந்தித்துப் புரிந்து கொள்வர்.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Matthew 11:11-15 

At that time: Jesus said to the crowds, “Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John, and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

A reading from the book of the Prophet Isaiah 41: 13-20 

I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff; you shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the Lord; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory. When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive. இயேசு கூறியது: “பெருஞ்சுமை சுமந்து சோர்ந்திருப்பவர்களே, எல்லாரும் என்னிடம் வாருங்கள், நான் உங்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன். நான் கனிவும் மனத்தாழ்மையும் உடையவன். ஆகவே என் நுகத்தை உங்கள்மேல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு என்னிடம் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அப்பொழுது உங்கள் உள்ளத்திற்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் கிடைக்கும். ஆம், என் நுகம் அழுத்தாது; என் சுமை எளிதாயுள்ளது.” என்றார்
