உன் பெயர் பேதுரு; விண்ணரசின் திறவுகோல்களை நான் உன்னிடம் தருவேன்.

அக்காலத்தில் 

இயேசு, பிலிப்புச் செசரியா பகுதிக்குச் சென்றார். அவர் தம் சீடரை நோக்கி, “மானிடமகன் யாரென்று மக்கள் சொல்கிறார்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார். 

அதற்கு அவர்கள், “சிலர் திருமுழுக்கு யோவான் எனவும் வேறு சிலர் எலியா எனவும் மற்றும் சிலர் எரேமியா அல்லது பிற இறைவாக்கினருள் ஒருவர் என்றும் சொல்கின்றனர்” என்றார்கள். 

“ஆனால் நீங்கள், நான் யார் எனச் சொல்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று அவர் கேட்டார். 

சீமோன் பேதுரு மறுமொழியாக, “நீர் மெசியா, வாழும் கடவுளின் மகன்” என்று உரைத்தார். அதற்கு இயேசு, “யோனாவின் மகனான சீமோனே, நீ பேறுபெற்றவன். ஏனெனில் எந்த மனிதரும் இதை உனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தவில்லை; மாறாக விண்ணகத்திலுள்ள என் தந்தையே வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார். எனவே நான் உனக்குக் கூறுகிறேன்: உன் பெயர் பேதுரு; இந்தப் பாறையின் மேல் என் திருச்சபையைக் கட்டுவேன். பாதாளத்தின் வாயில்கள் அதன் மேல் வெற்றி கொள்ளா. விண்ணரசின் திறவுகோல்களை நான் உன்னிடம் தருவேன். மண்ணுலகில் நீ தடைசெய்வது விண்ணுலகிலும் தடை செய்யப்படும். மண்ணுலகில் நீ அனுமதிப்பது விண்ணுலகிலும் அனுமதிக்கப்படும்” என்றார்.

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Matthew (16, 13-19) 

At that time, Jesus, having arrived in the region of Caesarea-Philippi, asked his disciples: “According to the people, who is the Son of man? They answered: "For some, John the Baptist; for others, Elijah; for still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. "Jesus asked them:" And you, what are you saying? For you, who am I? Then Simon Peter spoke up and said: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!" »Speaking in his turn, Jesus said to him:« Happy are you, Simon son of Jonas: it is not flesh and blood which have revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church; and the power of Death will not prevail over it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven: whatever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. "

Respons: The Lord is my Shepherd: I cannot miss anything. 

Psalm 22 (23) 

The Lord is my Shepherd:

I lack nothing.

On meadows of fresh grass,

he makes me rest. R 

He leads me to still waters

and brings me back to life;

he leads me by the right path

for the honor of his name. R 

If I cross the ravines of death,

I fear no harm,

for you are with me:

your staff guides me and reassures me. R 

You prepare the table for me

before my enemies; 

you spread the perfume on my head,

my cup is overflowing. R 

Grace and happiness are with me

every day of my life;

I will live in the house of the Lord

for the duration of my days. R

"I who am an elder and witness to the sufferings of Christ" 

from the first letter of Saint Peter the apostle (5, 1-4) 

Beloved, the elders in office among you, I urge them, I who am an elder like them and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, communing in the glory which will be revealed: be the shepherds of the flock of God which is with you; watch over him, not by compulsion but willingly, according to God; not out of greed but out of devotion; not by commanding as masters those entrusted to you, but by becoming models of the flock. And, when the Head of the Pastors appears, you will receive the crown of glory which does not wither.

அக்காலத்தில் 

தூய ஆவியால் இயேசு பாலைநிலத்துக்கு அனுப்பிவைக்கப்பட்டார். பாலைநிலத்தில் அவர் நாற்பது நாள் இருந்தார்; அப்போது சாத்தானால் சோதிக்கப்பட்டார்; அங்குக் காட்டு விலங்குகளிடையே இருந்தார். வானதூதர் அவருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்தனர். 

யோவான் கைதுசெய்யப்பட்டபின், கடவுளின் நற்செய்தியைப் பறைசாற்றிக்கொண்டே இயேசு கலிலேயாவிற்கு வந்தார். “காலம் நிறைவேறிவிட்டது. இறையாட்சி நெருங்கி வந்துவிட்டது; மனம் மாறி நற்செய்தியை நம்புங்கள்” என்று அவர் கூறினார். 

இது கிறிஸ்து வழங்கும் நற்செய்தி.
