மற்ற சீடர் பேதுருவைவிட விரைவாக ஓடி முதலில் கல்லறையை அடைந்தார்.

✠ யோவான் எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 20: 2-8

வாரத்தின் முதல் நாளன்று மகதலா மரியா சீமோன் பேதுருவிடமும் இயேசு தனி அன்பு கொண்டிருந்த மற்றச் சீடரிடமும் வந்து, “ஆண்டவரைக் கல்லறையிலிருந்து யாரோ எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டனர்; அவரை எங்கே வைத்தனரோ, எங்களுக்குத் தெரியவில்லை!” என்றார்.

இதைக் கேட்ட பேதுருவும் மற்றச் சீடரும் கல்லறைக்குப் புறப்பட்டனர். இருவரும் ஒருமித்து ஓடினர். மற்றச் சீடர் பேதுருவை விட விரைவாக ஓடி முதலில் கல்லறையை அடைந்தார். அவர் குனிந்து பார்த்தபோது துணிகள் கிடப்பதைக் கண்டார்; ஆனால் உள்ளே நுழையவில்லை. அவருக்குப் பின்னாலேயே சீமோன் பேதுருவும் வந்தார். நேரே அவர் கல்லறைக்குள் நுழைந்தார். அங்குத் துணிகளையும், இயேசுவின் தலையை மூடியிருந்த துண்டையும் கண்டார். அத்துண்டு மற்ற துணிகளோடு இல்லாமல் ஓரிடத்தில் தனியாகச் சுருட்டி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.

பின்னர், கல்லறைக்கு முதலில் வந்து சேர்ந்த மற்றச் சீடரும் உள்ளே சென்றார், கண்டார், நம்பினார்.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

தொடக்க முதல் இருந்த வாழ்வு அளிக்கும் வாக்கை நாங்கள் கேட்டோம்; கண்ணால் கண்டோம்; உற்று நோக்கினோம்; கையால் தொட்டு உணர்ந்தோம். வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்ட அந்த வாழ்வை நாங்கள் கண்டோம். அதற்குச் சான்று பகர்கிறோம். தந்தையோடு இருந்ததும் எங்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டதுமான அந்த ‘நிலைவாழ்வு’ பற்றி உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறோம். தந்தையுடனும் அவருடைய மகன் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுடனும் நாங்கள் கொண்டுள்ள நட்புறவை நீங்களும் கொண்டிருக்குமாறு நாங்கள் கண்டதை, நாங்கள் கேட்டதை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறோம். எங்களது மகிழ்ச்சி நிறைவடையுமாறு உங்களுக்கு இதை எழுதுகிறோம்.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.John 20:2-8 

On the first day of the week: Mary Magdalene ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going towards the tomb. Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed.

A reading from the first letter of St.John 1:1-4 

Beloved: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
