வல்லவராம் கடவுள் எனக்கு அரும்பெரும் செயல்கள் செய்துள்ளார்.

✠ லூக்கா எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 1: 46-56

மரியா கூறியது: “ஆண்டவரை எனது உள்ளம் போற்றிப் பெருமைப்படுத்துகின்றது. என் மீட்பராம் கடவுளை நினைத்து எனது மனம் பேருவகை கொள்கின்றது. ஏனெனில் அவர் தம் அடிமையின் தாழ்நிலையைக் கண்ணோக்கினார். இதுமுதல் எல்லாத் தலைமுறையினரும் என்னைப் பேறுபெற்றவர் என்பர். ஏனெனில் வல்லவராம் கடவுள் எனக்கு அரும்பெரும் செயல்கள் செய்துள்ளார். தூயவர் என்பதே அவரது பெயர். அவருக்கு அஞ்சி நடப்போருக்குத் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாய் அவர் இரக்கம் காட்டி வருகிறார். அவர் தம் தோள் வலிமையைக் காட்டியுள்ளார்; உள்ளத்தில் செருக்குடன் சிந்திப்போரைச் சிதறடித்து வருகிறார். வலியோரை அரியணையினின்று தூக்கி எறிந்துள்ளார்; தாழ்நிலையில் இருப்போரை உயர்த்துகிறார். பசித்தோரை நலன்களால் நிரப்பியுள்ளார்; செல்வரை வெறுங்கையராய் அனுப்பிவிடுகிறார். மூதாதையருக்கு உரைத்தபடியே அவர் ஆபிரகாமையும் அவர்தம் வழிமரபினரையும் என்றென்றும் இரக்கத்தோடு நினைவில் கொண்டுள்ளார்; தம் ஊழியராகிய இஸ்ரயேலுக்குத் துணையாக இருந்து வருகிறார்.”

மரியா ஏறக்குறைய மூன்று மாதம் எலிசபெத்தோடு தங்கியிருந்த பின்பு தம் வீடு திரும்பினார்.

சாமுவேல் பால்குடி மறந்ததும், அன்னா அவனைத் தூக்கிக்கொண்டு மூன்று காளை, இருபது படி அளவுள்ள ஒரு மரக்கால் மாவு, ஒரு தோல் பை திராட்சை இரசம் ஆகியவற்றுடன் சீலோவிலிருந்து ஆண்டவரின் இல்லத்திற்கு வந்தார். அவன் இன்னும் சிறு பையனாகவே இருந்தான். அவர்கள் காளையைப் பலியிட்ட பின், பையனை ஏலியிடம் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள். பின் அவர் கூறியது: “என் தலைவரே! உம் மீது ஆணை! என் தலைவரே! உம்முன் நின்று ஆண்டவரிடம் வேண்டிக்கொண்டிருந்த பெண் நானே. இப்பையனுக்காகவே நான் வேண்டிக்கொண்டேன். நான் ஆண்டவரிடம் விண்ணப்பித்த என் வேண்டுகோளை அவர் கேட்டருளினார். ஆகவே நான் அவனை ஆண்டவருக்கு அர்ப்பணிக்கிறேன். அவன் தன் வாழ்நாள் அனைத்தும் ஆண்டவருக்கே அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டவன்.” அங்கே அவர்கள் ஆண்டவரைத் தொழுதார்கள்.

The Almighty has done great things for me

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Luke 1:46-56 

At that time: Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring for ever.” And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.

In those days: Hannah took Samuel up with her, along with a three-year-old bull, an ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and she brought him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh. And the child was young. Then they slaughtered the bull, and they brought the child to Eli. And she said, “Oh, my lord! As you live, my Lord, I am the woman who was standing here in your presence, praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord.” And he worshipped the Lord there.
