PSALM 80 (81), 12-13, 14-15, 16-17 (Ps 80, 2a)
“My people did not listen to my voice,
Israel did not want me.
I delivered him to his hardened heart: let
him go and follow his views!
“Ah! If my people would listen to me,
Israel, if they would follow my paths!
Immediately I would humiliate his enemies,
against his oppressors I would turn my hand.
“My adversaries would stoop before him;
such would be their fate forever!
I would feed him with the flower of wheat,
I would satisfy him with the honey of the rock! "
