"He had to make himself like his brothers in everything"
the letter to the Hebrews (2, 14-18)
Since the children of men have blood and flesh in common, Jesus too shared a similar condition: thus, by his death, he was able to reduce to impotence the one who possessed the power of death, that is that is, the devil, and he set free all those who, for fear of death, spent their entire lives in a situation of slaves. Because those he takes care of, it is not the angels, it is the descendants of Abraham. He therefore had to make himself in everything like his brothers, in order to become a merciful and trustworthy high priest for relations with God, in order to take away the sins of the people. And because he suffered the ordeal of his Passion to the end, he is able to help those who are suffering.
We can also read Malachi (3, 1-4)
