"He entered the sanctuary once and for all, shedding his own blood"
of the letter to the Hebrews (9, 2-3.11-14)
Brethren, in the sanctuary of the Old Covenant, a tent was set up, the first, where were the seven-branched candlestick and the table with the loaves of the offering; this is what we call the Saint. Behind the second curtain was the tent called the Holy of Holies. Christ has come, high priest of good things to come. Through the larger and more perfect tent, the one which is not the work of human hands and does not belong to this creation, he entered the sanctuary once and for all, shedding not the blood of goats and goats. young bulls, but his own blood. In this way, he obtained a final release. If it is true that a simple sprinkling with the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of heifers, sanctifies those who are defiled, making them pure again, the blood of Christ does much more, for Christ, moved by the Eternal Spirit, offered himself to God as a faultless victim; his blood will therefore purify our conscience from acts that lead to death, so that we can worship the living God.
