 சனவரி 16 :  நற்செய்தி வாசகம்

மண்ணுலகில் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க, மானிட மகனுக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு.

✠ மாற்கு எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 2: 1-12

இயேசு மீண்டும் கப்பர்நாகுமுக்குச் சென்றார். அவர் வீட்டில் இருக்கிறார் என்னும் செய்தி பரவிற்று. பலர் வந்து கூடவே, வீட்டு வாயிலருகிலும் இடமில்லாமல் போயிற்று. அவர் அவர்களுக்கு இறைவார்த்தையை எடுத்துரைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அப்போது முடக்குவாதமுற்ற ஒருவரை நால்வர் சுமந்து அவரிடம் கொண்டுவந்தனர். மக்கள் திரண்டிருந்த காரணத்தால் அவரை இயேசுவுக்கு முன் கொண்டுவர இயலவில்லை. எனவே அவர் இருந்த இடத்திற்கு மேலே வீட்டின் கூரையை உடைத்துத் திறப்பு உண்டாக்கி, முடக்குவாதமுற்றவரைப் படுக்கையோடு கீழே இறக்கினர். இயேசு அவர்களுடைய நம்பிக்கையைக் கண்டு, முடக்குவாதமுற்றவரிடம், “மகனே, உன் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டன” என்றார்.

அங்கே அமர்ந்திருந்த மறைநூல் அறிஞர் சிலர், “இவன் ஏன் இப்படிப் பேசுகிறான்? இவன் கடவுளைப் பழிக்கிறான். கடவுள் ஒருவரே அன்றிப் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க யாரால் இயலும்?” என உள்ளத்தில் எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர்.

உடனே அவர்கள் தமக்குள் இவ்வாறு எண்ணுவதை இயேசு தம்முள் உணர்ந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி, “உங்கள் உள்ளங்களில் இவ்வாறு எண்ணுவது ஏன்? முடக்குவாதமுற்ற இவனிடம் ‘உன் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டன’ என்பதா? ‘எழுந்து உன் படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு நட’ என்பதா? எது எளிது? மண்ணுலகில் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க மானிட மகனுக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு என்பதை நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும்” என்றார். எனவே அவர் முடக்குவாதமுற்றவரை நோக்கி, “நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், நீ எழுந்து உன்னுடைய படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு உனது வீட்டுக்குப் போ” என்றார்.

அவரும் எழுந்து உடனே தம்முடைய படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு எல்லாரும் காண வெளியே சென்றார். இதனால் அனைவரும் மலைத்துப்போய், “இதைப்போல நாம் ஒருபோதும் கண்டதில்லையே” என்று கூறிக் கடவுளைப் போற்றிப் புகழ்ந்தனர்.

விழாவின் பேரொலியை அறிந்த மக்கள் பேறுபெற்றோர்; ஆண்டவரே! உம் முகத்தின் ஒளியில் அவர்கள் நடப்பார்கள்.

அவர்கள் நாள் முழுவதும் உம் பெயரில் களிகூர்வார்கள்; உமது நீதியால் அவர்கள் மேன்மை அடைவார்கள். - பல்லவி

ஏனெனில், நீரே அவர்களது ஆற்றலின் மேன்மை; உமது தயவால் எங்கள் வலிமை உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

நீங்கள் தேர்ந்துகொண்ட அரசனுக்கு எதிராய் முறையிடுவீர்கள்; ஆண்டவர் உங்களுக்குச் செவிமடுக்கமாட்டார்.

அந்நாள்களில்

இஸ்ரயேலின் பெரியோர் அனைவரும் ஒன்று கூடிச் சாமுவேலிடம் இராமாவுக்கு வந்தனர். அவர்கள் அவரிடம், “இதோ உமக்கு வயது முதிர்ந்துவிட்டது. உம் புதல்வர்கள் உம் வழிமுறைகளில் நடப்பதில்லை. ஆகவே, அனைத்து வேற்றினங்களிடையே இருப்பது போன்று ஓர் அரசனை நியமித்தருளும்” என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டனர். ‘எங்களுக்கு நீதி வழங்க ஓர் அரசனைத் தாரும்’ என்று அவர்கள் கேட்டது, சாமுவேலுக்குத் தீயதெனப் பட்டது. சாமுவேல் ஆண்டவரிடம் வேண்டிக்கொண்டார். ஆண்டவர் சாமுவேலிடம் கூறியது: “மக்கள் குரலையும், அவர்கள் உன்னிடம் கூறுவது அனைத்தையும் கேள். ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் உன்னைப் புறக்கணிக்கவில்லை. அவர்களை நான் ஆளாதபடி என்னைத் தான் புறக்கணித்துவிட்டனர்.”

ஓர் அரசன் வேண்டும் என்று தம்மிடம் கேட்ட மக்களுக்கு சாமுவேல் ஆண்டவர் கூறிய அனைத்தையும் கூறினார்: “உங்கள் மீது ஆட்சிசெய்யும் அரசனின் உரிமைகளாவன: அவன் உங்கள் புதல்வர்களைத் தன் தேரோட்டிகளாகவும் தன் குதிரை வீரர்களாகவும் வைத்துக்கொள்வான். அவர்களைத் தன் தேர்களுக்குமுன் ஓடச் செய்வான். அவன் அவர்களை ஆயிரத்தினர் தலைவராகவும், ஐம்பதின்மர் தலைவராகவும், தன் நிலத்தை உழுபவராகவும், தன் விளைச்சலை அறுவடை செய்பவராகவும், தன் போர்க் கருவிகளையும் தேர்க் கருவிகளையும் செய்பவராகவும் நியமித்துக் கொள்வான். மேலும் அவன் உங்கள் புதல்வியரைப் பரிமளத் தைலம் செய்கிறவர்களாகவும், சமைப்பவர்களாகவும், அப்பம் சுடுபவர்களாகவும் வைத்துக்கொள்வான். அவன் உங்கள் வயல்களிலும், திராட்சைத் தோட்டங்களிலும், ஒலிவத் தோப்புகளிலும் சிறந்தவற்றை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு தன் அலுவலருக்குக் கொடுப்பான். உங்கள் தானியத்திலும் திராட்சைப் பலனிலும், பத்தில் ஒரு பங்கை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு தன் காரியத் தலைவருக்கும் அலுவலருக்கும் கொடுப்பான். உங்கள் வேலைக்காரரையும் வேலைக்காரிகளையும், உங்கள் கால்நடைகளில் சிறந்தவற்றையும் உங்கள் கழுதைகளையும் தன் சொந்த அலுவலுக்காகப் பயன்படுத்துவான். உங்கள் மந்தைகளில் பத்தில் ஒரு பங்கு எடுத்துக் கொள்வான். நீங்கள் அவனுக்குப் பணியாளர்களாய் இருப்பீர்கள். அந்நாளில் நீங்களே உங்களுக்காகத் தேர்ந்துகொண்ட அரசனை முன்னிட்டு முறையிடுவீர்கள். அந்நாளில் ஆண்டவர் உங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்க மாட்டார்.”

மக்களோ சாமுவேலின் குரலுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்க மறுத்து, “இல்லை, எங்களுக்குக் கட்டாயமாய் ஓர் அரசன் வேண்டும். அனைத்து வேற்றின மக்கள் போலவே நாங்களும் இருப்போம். எங்கள் அரசன் எங்களுக்கு நீதி வழங்குவார். எங்கள் போர்களை முன்னின்று நடத்துவார்” என்றனர். மக்கள் கூறியவை அனைத்தையும் சாமுவேல் கேட்டு, அவற்றை ஆண்டவர் காதில் போட்டுவைத்தார். ஆண்டவர் சாமுவேலிடம் கூறியது: “அவர்கள் குரலுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவர்கள்மீது ஓர் அரசனை ஆளச் செய்”.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Mark 2:1-12

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, word went round that he was back; and so many people collected that there was no room left, even in front of the door. He was preaching the word to them when some people came bringing him a paralytic carried by four men, but as the crowd made it impossible to get the man to him, they stripped the roof over the place where Jesus was; and when they had made an opening, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic lay. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’ Now some scribes were sitting there, and they thought to themselves, ‘How can this man talk like that? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins but God?’ Jesus, inwardly aware that this was what they were thinking, said to them, ‘Why do you have these thoughts in your hearts? Which of these is easier: to say to the paralytic, “Your sins are forgiven” or to say, “Get up, pick up your stretcher and walk”? But to prove to you that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,’ – he turned to the paralytic – ‘I order you: get up, pick up your stretcher, and go off home.’ And the man got up, picked up his stretcher at once and walked out in front of everyone, so that they were all astounded and praised God saying, ‘We have never seen anything like this.’

A Reading from the First Book of Samuel 8:4-7,10-22

In those days: All the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah and said to him, “Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations.” But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them.” So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking for a king from him. He said, “These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen, and to run before his chariots. And he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to plough his ground and to reap his harvest, and to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his servants. He will take the tenth of your grain and of your vineyards and give it to his officers and to his servants. He will take your male servants and female servants and the best of your young men and your donkeys, and put them to his work. He will take the tenth of your flocks, and you shall be his slaves. And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.” But the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, “No! But there shall be a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” And when Samuel had heard all the words of the people, he repeated them in the ears of the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey their voice and make them a king.”
