மானிடமகன் முன்னிலையில் நிற்க வல்லவராவதற்கு, எப்பொழுதும் விழிப்பாயிருந்து மன்றாடுங்கள்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடர்களுக்குக் கூறியது: “உங்கள் உள்ளங்கள் குடிவெறி, களியாட்டத்தாலும் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கைக்குரிய கவலையினாலும் மந்தம் அடையாதவாறு அந்நாள் திடீரென வந்து ஒரு கண்ணியைப் போல் உங்களைச் சிக்க வைக்காதவாறும் எச்சரிக்கையாய் இருங்கள். மண்ணுலகு எங்கும் குடியிருக்கும் எல்லார் மீதும் அந்நாள் வந்தே தீரும். ஆகையால் நிகழப்போகும் அனைத்திலிருந்தும் தப்புவதற்கும் மானிடமகன் முன்னிலையில் நிற்க வல்லவராவதற்கும் எப்பொழுதும் விழிப்பாயிருந்து மன்றாடுங்கள்.”

இனி இரவே இராது. ஏனெனில் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் அவர்கள்மீது ஒளி வீசுவார்.

திருத்தூதர் யோவான் எழுதிய திருவெளிப்பாட்டிலிருந்து வாசகம் 22: 1-7

வானதூதர் வாழ்வு அளிக்கும் தண்ணீர் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்த ஓர் ஆற்றை எனக்குக் காட்டினார். அது பளிங்குபோல் ஒளிர்ந்தது. அது கடவுளும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியும் வீற்றிருந்த அரியணையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, நகரின் தெரு நடுவே பாய்ந்தோடியது. ஆற்றின் இரு மருங்கும் வாழ்வு தரும் மரம் இருந்தது. மாதத்துக்கு ஒரு முறையாக அது ஆண்டுதோறும் பன்னிரு முறை கனிகள் தரும். அதன் இலைகள் மக்களினங்களைக் குணப்படுத்தக் கூடியவை. சாபத்துக்கு உள்ளானது எதுவும் நகரில் இராது. கடவுளும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியும் வீற்றிருக்கும் அரியணை அங்கு இருக்கும். கடவுளின் பணியாளர்கள் அவரை வழிபடுவார்கள்; அவரது முகத்தைக் காண்பார்கள். அவரது பெயர் அவர்களுடைய நெற்றியில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கும். இனி இரவே இராது. விளக்கின் ஒளியோ கதிரவனின் ஒளியோ அவர்களுக்குத் தேவைப்படாது. ஏனெனில் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் அவர்கள்மீது ஒளி வீசுவார்; அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் ஆட்சிபுரிவார்கள்.

பின்னர் அந்த வானதூதர் என்னிடம், “இவ்வாக்குகள் நம்பத்தக்கவை, உண்மையுள்ளவை. விரைவில் நிகழவேண்டியவற்றைத் தம் பணியாளர்களுக்குக் காட்டுமாறு, இறைவாக்கினரைத் தூண்டியெழுப்பும் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் தம் வானதூதரை அனுப்பினார். இதோ! நான் விரைவில் வருகிறேன்” என்றார். இந்த நூலில் உள்ள இறைவாக்குகளைக் கடைப்பிடிப்போர் பேறுபெற்றோர்.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Luke 21:34-36 

Jesus said to his disciples:

  ‘Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened with debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will be sprung on you suddenly, like a trap. For it will come down on every living man on the face of the earth. Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to stand with confidence before the Son of Man.’

The Lord God will shine on them; it will never be night again

Apocalypse 22:1-7 

The angel showed me, John, the river of life, rising from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowing crystal-clear down the middle of the city street. On either side of the river were the trees of life, which bear twelve crops of fruit in a year, one in each month, and the leaves of which are the cure for the pagans.

  The ban will be lifted. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in its place in the city; his servants will worship him, they will see him face to face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. It will never be night again and they will not need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God will be shining on them. They will reign for ever and ever.

  The angel said to me, ‘All that you have written is sure and will come true: the Lord God who gives the spirit to the prophets has sent his angel to reveal to his servants what is soon to take place. Very soon now, I shall be with you again.’ Happy are those who treasure the prophetic message of this book.
