மார்ச் 21  : நற்செய்தி வாசகம்

கோதுமை மணி மண்ணில் விழுந்து மடிந்தால்தான் மிகுந்த விளைச்சலை அளிக்கும்.

யோவான் எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 12: 20-33

அக்காலத்தில்

வழிபாட்டுக்காகத் திருவிழாவுக்கு வந்தோருள் கிரேக்கர் சிலரும் இருந்தனர். இவர்கள் கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள பெத்சாய்தா ஊரைச் சேர்ந்த பிலிப்பிடம் வந்து, “ஐயா, இயேசுவைக் காண விரும்புகிறோம்” என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள். பிலிப்பு அந்திரேயாவிடம் வந்து அது பற்றிச் சொன்னார்; அந்திரேயாவும் பிலிப்பும் இயேசுவிடம் சென்று அதைத் தெரிவித்தனர்.

இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “மானிடமகன் மாட்சி பெற வேண்டிய நேரம் வந்துவிட்டது. கோதுமை மணி மண்ணில் விழுந்து மடியாவிட்டால் அது அப்படியே இருக்கும். அது மடிந்தால்தான் மிகுந்த விளைச்சலை அளிக்கும் என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன். தமக்கென்றே வாழ்வோர் தம் வாழ்வை இழந்துவிடுவர். இவ்வுலகில் தம் வாழ்வைப் பொருட்டாகக் கருதாதோர் நிலைவாழ்வுக்குத் தம்மை உரியவராக்குவர். எனக்குத் தொண்டு செய்வோர் என்னைப் பின்பற்றட்டும். நான் இருக்கும் இடத்தில் என் தொண்டரும் இருப்பர். எனக்குத் தொண்டு செய்வோருக்குத் தந்தை மதிப்பளிக்கிறார்” என்றார். மேலும் இயேசு, “இப்போது என் உள்ளம் கலக்கமுற்றுள்ளது. நான் என்ன சொல்வேன்? ‘தந்தையே, இந்த நேரத்திலிருந்து என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்’ என்பேனோ? இல்லை! இதற்காகத்தானே இந்நேரம்வரை வாழ்ந்திருக்கிறேன். தந்தையே, உம் பெயரை மாட்சிப்படுத்தும்” என்றார்.

அப்போது வானிலிருந்து ஒரு குரல், “மாட்சிப்படுத்தினேன்; மீண்டும் மாட்சிப்படுத்துவேன்” என்று ஒலித்தது. அங்குக் கூட்டமாய் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்த மக்கள் அதைக் கேட்டு, “அது இடிமுழக்கம்” என்றனர். வேறு சிலர், “அது வானதூதர் ஒருவர் அவரோடு பேசிய பேச்சு” என்றனர். இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “இக்குரல் என் பொருட்டு அல்ல, உங்கள் பொருட்டே ஒலித்தது. இப்போதே இவ்வுலகு தீர்ப்புக்குள்ளாகிறது; இவ்வுலகின் தலைவன் வெளியே துரத்தப்படுவான். நான் மண்ணிலிருந்து உயர்த்தப்படும்போது அனைவரையும் என்பால் ஈர்த்துக்கொள்வேன்” என்றார்.

தாம் எவ்வாறு இறக்கப் போகிறார் என்பதைக் குறிப்பிட்டே இப்படிச் சொன்னார்.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

கிறிஸ்து இவ்வுலகில் வாழ்ந்த காலத்தில், தம்மைச் சாவிலிருந்து காப்பாற்ற வல்லவரை நோக்கி உரத்த குரல் எழுப்பி, கண்ணீர் சிந்தி, மன்றாடி வேண்டினார். அவர் கொண்டிருந்த இறைப்பற்று கலந்த அச்சத்தை முன்னிட்டு, கடவுள் அவருக்குச் செவிசாய்த்தார். அவர் இறை மகனாயிருந்தும், துன்பங்கள் வழியே கீழ்ப்படிதலைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டார். அவர் நிறைவுள்ளவராகி, தமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவோர் அனைவரும் என்றென்றும் மீட்படையக் காரணமானார்.

இதோ, நாள்கள் வருகின்றன. அப்பொழுது நான் இஸ்ரயேல் வீட்டாரோடும் யூதாவின் வீட்டாரோடும் புதிய உடன்படிக்கை ஒன்றைச் செய்துகொள்வேன், என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர். அவர்களுடைய மூதாதையரை எகிப்து நாட்டினின்று விடுவிப்பதற்காக, அவர்களை நான் கைப்பிடித்து நடத்தி வந்தபொழுது அவர்களோடு செய்துகொண்ட உடன்படிக்கையைப் போன்று இது இராது. நான் அவர்களின் தலைவராய் இருந்தும், என் உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்கள் மீறிவிட்டார்கள், என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர்.

அந்நாள்களுக்குப் பிறகு, இஸ்ரயேல் வீட்டாரோடு நான் செய்யவிருக்கும் உடன்படிக்கை இதுவே: என் சட்டத்தை அவர்கள் உள்ளத்தில் பதிப்பேன்; அதை அவர்களது இதயத்தில் எழுதிவைப்பேன். நான் அவர்களின் கடவுளாய் இருப்பேன்; அவர்கள் என் மக்களாய் இருப்பார்கள், என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர். இனிமேல் எவரும் ‘ஆண்டவரை அறிந்துகொள்ளும்’ எனத் தமக்கு அடுத்திருப்பவருக்கோ சகோதரருக்கோ கற்றுத்தரமாட்டார். ஏனெனில் அவர்களுள் பெரியோர் முதல் சிறியோர் வரை அனைவரும் என்னை அறிந்துகொள்வர், என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர். அவர்களது தீச்செயலை நான் மன்னித்துவிடுவேன்; அவர்களுடைய பாவங்களை இனிமேல் நினைவுகூரமாட்டேன்.

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To John (12, 20-33) 

At that time there were some Greeks among those who had come up to Jerusalem to worship God on the feast of the Passover. They approached Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him: “We would like to see Jesus. Philip is going to tell Andrew, and both are going to tell Jesus. Then Jesus said to them: “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Amen, amen, I say to you: if the grain of wheat which falls to the ground does not die, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it; whoever breaks away from it in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone wants to serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also will be my servant. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor him.

Now my soul is upset. What am I going to say? “Father, save me from this hour”? - But no ! That's why I got to this hour! Father, glorify your name! Then from heaven came a voice that said, "I have glorified him and I will glorify him again." Hearing it, the crowd standing there said it was a thunderclap. Others said, "It was an angel who spoke to him. "But Jesus answered them:" It was not for me that there was this voice, but for you. Now is the judgment of this world; now the prince of this world is going to be thrown out; and I, when I have been lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself. By that he meant what kind of death he was going to die of.

"He learned obedience and became the cause of eternal salvation" 

Reading of the letter to the Hebrews (5, 7-9) 

Christ, during the days of his life in the flesh, offered, with a loud cry and in tears, prayers and supplications to God who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his great respect. Although he is the Son, he learned obedience through his sufferings and, brought to his perfection, he became for all who obey him the cause of eternal salvation.

"I will make a new covenant and I will no longer remember their sins" 

Reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah (31, 31-34) 

Here are the days coming - oracle of the Lord - when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt: they broke my covenant. while I was their master - oracle of the Lord.

But this will be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel when those days have passed - oracle of the Lord. I will put my Law deep within themselves; I will write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. They will no longer have to teach each his companion, nor each his brother by saying: “Learn to know the Lord! For all will know me, from the smallest to the greatest - oracle of the Lord. I will forgive their faults, I will no longer remember their sins.
