தம் மகன் வழியாக உலகை மீட்கவே, கடவுள் அவரை உலகிற்கு அனுப்பினார்.

✠ யோவான் எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 3: 16-21

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு நிக்கதேமிடம் கூறியது: தம் ஒரே மகன்மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளும் எவரும் அழியாமல் நிலைவாழ்வு பெறும் பொருட்டு அந்த மகனையே அளிக்கும் அளவுக்குக் கடவுள் உலகின்மேல் அன்புகூர்ந்தார். உலகிற்குத் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பளிக்க அல்ல, தம் மகன் வழியாக அதை மீட்கவே கடவுள் அவரை உலகிற்கு அனுப்பினார். அவர்மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்வோர் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்புக்கு ஆளாவதில்லை; ஆனால் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாதோர் ஏற்கெனவே தீர்ப்புப் பெற்றுவிட்டனர். ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் கடவுளின் ஒரே மகனிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லை.

ஒளி உலகிற்கு வந்திருந்தும் தம் செயல்கள் தீயனவாய் இருந்ததால் மனிதர் ஒளியைவிட இருளையே விரும்பினர். இதில்தான் அவர்களுக்கு எதிரான தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பு அடங்கியுள்ளது. தீங்கு செய்யும் அனைவரும் ஒளியை வெறுக்கின்றனர். தங்கள் தீச்செயல்கள் வெளியாகிவிடும் என அஞ்சி அவர்கள் ஒளியிடம் வருவதில்லை. உண்மைக்கேற்ப வாழ்பவர்கள் ஒளியிடம் வருகிறார்கள். இதனால் அவர்கள் செய்யும் அனைத்தையும் கடவுளோடு இணைந்தே செய்கிறார்கள் என்பது வெளியாகும்.

அந்நாள்களில்

தலைமைக் குருவும் அவரைச் சேர்ந்த சதுசேயக் கட்சியினர் அனைவரும் பொறாமையால் நிறைந்து திருத்தூதரைக் கைது செய்து பொதுச் சிறையில் காவலில் வைத்தனர். ஆனால் இரவில் ஆண்டவரின் தூதர் சிறைச்சாலையின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து அவர்களை வெளியே அழைத்துச் சென்று, “நீங்கள் போய்க் கோவிலில் நின்று வாழ்வு பற்றிய வார்த்தைகளை யெல்லாம் மக்களுக்கு எடுத்துக் கூறுங்கள்” என்றார். இதைக் கேட்ட அவர்கள் பொழுது விடிந்ததும் கோவிலுக்குச் சென்று கற்பித்தார்கள்.

தலைமைக் குருவும் அவரைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களும் அனைத்து இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களின் ஆட்சிப் பேரவையாகிய தலைமைச் சங்கத்தைக் கூட்டித் திருத்தூதர்களைச் சிறையிலிருந்து கொண்டுவருமாறு ஆள் அனுப்பினார்கள். அந்த ஏவலர்கள் அங்கு வந்தபோது சிறையில் அவர்களைக் காணவில்லை. எனவே அவர்கள் திரும்பி வந்து, “நாங்கள் சிறைச்சாலை உறுதியாய்ப் பூட்டப்பட்டிருப்பதையும், காவலர் வாயிலருகில் நின்றுகொண்டு இருப்பதையும் கண்டோம். ஆனால் கதவைத் திறந்தபோது உள்ளே எவரையும் காணவில்லை” என்று அறிவித்தார்கள்.

இவ்வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்ட கோவில் காவல் தலைவரும், தலைமைக் குருக்களும் அவர்களுக்கு என்னதான் நேர்ந்திருக்கும் என்று மனங்குழம்பி நின்றனர். அப்பொழுது ஒருவர் வந்து, “நீங்கள் சிறையில் அடைத்து வைத்திருந்த மனிதர்கள், அதோ! கோவிலில் நின்று மக்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கின்றனர்” என்று அவர்களிடம் அறிவித்தார். உடனே காவல் தலைவர் ஏவலர்களுடன் கோவிலுக்குச் சென்று அவர்களை அழைத்துச் சென்றார். மக்கள் கல்லெறிவார்கள் என்று அவர் அஞ்சியதால் வன்முறை எதுவும் கையாளவில்லை.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.John 3: 16-21

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

A Reading from the Acts of Apostles 5: 17-26

In those days: The high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy they arrested the apostles and put them in the public prison. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, “Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life.” And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach. Now when the high priest came, and those who were with him, they called together the Council, all the senate of the people of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. But when the officers came, they did not find them in the prison, so they returned and reported, “We found the prison securely locked and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened them we found no one inside.” Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were greatly perplexed about them, wondering what this would come to. And someone came and told them, “Look! The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.” Then the captain with the officers went and brought them, but not by force, for they were afraid of being stoned by the people.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு நிக்கதேமிடம் கூறியது: “நீங்கள் மறுபடியும் பிறக்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் உமக்குக் கூறியது பற்றி நீர் வியப்படைய வேண்டாம். காற்று விரும்பிய திசையில் வீசுகிறது. அதன் ஓசை உமக்குக் கேட்கிறது. ஆனால் அது எங்கிருந்து வருகிறது என்றும் எங்குச் செல்கிறது என்றும் உமக்குத் தெரியாது. தூய ஆவியால் பிறந்த அனைவருக்கும் இது பொருந்தும்” என்றார்.

நிக்கதேம் அவரைப் பார்த்து, “இது எப்படி நிகழ முடியும்?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு இயேசு கூறியது: “நீர் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களிடையே போதகராய் இருந்தும் உமக்கு இது தெரியவில்லையே! எங்களுக்குத் தெரிந்ததைப்பற்றியே பேசுகிறோம்; நாங்கள் கண்டதைப்பற்றியே சான்று பகர்கிறோம். எனினும் எங்கள் சான்றை நீங்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதில்லை என உறுதியாக உமக்குச் சொல்கிறேன். மண்ணுலகு சார்ந்தவை பற்றி நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னதை நீங்கள் நம்பவில்லை என்றால் விண்ணுலகு சார்ந்தவை பற்றிச் சொல்லும்போது எப்படி நம்பப்போகிறீர்கள்?

விண்ணகத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி வந்துள்ள மானிட மகனைத் தவிர வேறு எவரும் விண்ணகத்திற்கு ஏறிச் சென்றதில்லை. பாலை நிலத்தில் மோசேயால் பாம்பு உயர்த்தப்பட்டதுபோல மானிடமகனும் உயர்த்தப்பட வேண்டும்.”
