நம் ஆண்டவராகிய கடவுள் ஒருவரே ஆண்டவர். அவரிடம் அன்புகூர்வாயாக.

அக்காலத்தில்

மறைநூல் அறிஞருள் ஒருவர், இயேசுவை அணுகி வந்து, “அனைத்திலும் முதன்மையான கட்டளை எது?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு இயேசு, “ ‘இஸ்ரயேலே கேள். நம் ஆண்டவராகிய கடவுள் ஒருவரே ஆண்டவர். உன் முழு இதயத்தோடும் முழு உள்ளத்தோடும் முழு மனத்தோடும் முழு ஆற்றலோடும் உன் ஆண்டவராகிய கடவுளிடம் அன்புகூர்வாயாக’ என்பது முதன்மையான கட்டளை. ‘உன்மீது நீ அன்புகூர்வதுபோல் உனக்கு அடுத்திருப்பவர்மீதும் அன்புகூர்வாயாக’ என்பது இரண்டாவது கட்டளை. இவற்றைவிட மேலான கட்டளை வேறு எதுவும் இல்லை” என்றார்.

அதற்கு மறைநூல் அறிஞர் அவரிடம், “நன்று போதகரே, ‘கடவுள் ஒருவரே; அவரைத் தவிர வேறு ஒரு கடவுள் இல்லை’ என்று நீர் கூறியது உண்மையே. அவரிடம் முழு இதயத்தோடும் முழு அறிவோடும் முழு ஆற்றலோடும் அன்பு செலுத்துவதும், தன்னிடம் அன்பு கொள்வதுபோல் அடுத்திருப்பவரிடம் அன்பு செலுத்துவதும் எரிபலிகளையும் வேறு பலிகளையும்விட மேலானது” என்று கூறினார்.

அவர் அறிவுத்திறனோடு பதிலளித்ததைக் கண்ட இயேசு அவரிடம், “நீர் இறையாட்சியினின்று தொலையில் இல்லை” என்றார். அதன்பின் எவரும் அவரிடம் எதையும் கேட்கத் துணியவில்லை.

இஸ்ரயேலே! உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவரிடம் திரும்பி வா; நீ உன் தீச்செயலால் வீழ்ச்சியுற்றாய். இம்மொழிகளை ஏந்தி ஆண்டவரிடம் திரும்பி வந்து இவ்வாறு சொல்லுங்கள்: “தீவினை அனைத்தையும் அகற்றியருளும், நன்மையானதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்; நாங்கள் எங்கள் வாய்மொழியாம் கனிகளை உமக்கு அளிப்போம்; அசீரியர் எங்களை விடுவிக்கமாட்டார்கள்; குதிரைமேல் நாங்கள் ஏறமாட்டோம்; எங்கள் கைவினைப் பொருள்களை நோக்கி, ‘எங்கள் கடவுளே!’ என்று இனிச் சொல்லமாட்டோம்; திக்கற்றவன் உம்மிடத்தில் பரிவைப் பெறுகிறான்” எனச் சொல்லுங்கள்.

அவர்களுடைய பற்றுறுதியின்மையை நான் குணமாக்குவேன்; அவர்கள்மேல் உளமார அன்புகூர்வேன். அவர்கள் மேலிருந்த என் சினம் தணிந்துவிட்டது. நான் இஸ்ரயேலுக்குப் பனி போலிருப்பேன்; அவன் லீலிபோல் மலருவான்; லெபனோனின் மரம்போல் வேரூன்றி நிற்பான். அவனுடைய கிளைகள் விரிந்து பரவும்; அவன் பொலிவு ஒலிவ மரம் போல் இருக்கும்; லெபனோனைப்போல் அவன் நறுமணம் பரப்புவான்.

அவர்கள் திரும்பிவந்து என் நிழலில் குடியிருப்பார்கள்; கோதுமைபோல் தழைத்தோங்குவார்கள். திராட்சைக் கொடிபோல் செழிப்படைவார்கள். லெபனோனின் திராட்சை இரசம்போல் அவர்களது புகழ் விளங்கும். இனிமேல் எப்ராயிமுக்குச் சிலைகள் எதற்கு? நானே அவனுக்குச் செவிசாய்த்து, அவன்மேல் அக்கறை கொண்டுள்ளேன்; நான் பசுமையான தேவதாரு மரம் போன்றவன். உன் கனி எல்லாம் என்னிடமிருந்தே வரும்.

ஞானம் நிறைந்தவன் எவனோ, அவன் இவற்றை உணர்ந்து கொள்ளட்டும்; பகுத்தறிவு உள்ளவன் எவனோ, அவன் இவற்றை அறிந்துகொள்ளட்டும்; ஆண்டவரின் நெறிகள் நேர்மையானவை; நேர்மையானவர்கள் அவற்றைப் பின்பற்றி நடக்கிறார்கள்; மீறுகிறவர்கள் அவற்றில் இடறி விழுகின்றார்கள்.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Mark 12: 28-34 

At that time: One of the scribes came up to Jesus and asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbour as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.

ஒரு நாள் இயேசு பேச்சிழந்த ஒருவரிடமிருந்து பேயை ஓட்டினார். பேய் வெளியேறவே, பேச்சற்ற அவர் பேசினார். கூட்டத்தினர் வியந்து நின்றனர். அவர்களுள் சிலர், “பேய்களின் தலைவனாகிய பெயல்செபூலைக் கொண்டே இவன் பேய்களை ஓட்டுகிறான்” என்றனர். வேறு சிலர் அவரைச் சோதிக்கும் நோக்குடன், வானத்திலிருந்து ஏதேனும் ஓர் அடையாளம் காட்டுமாறு அவரிடம் கேட்டனர்.

இயேசு அவர்களுடைய சிந்தனைகளை அறிந்து, அவர்களிடம் கூறியது: தனக்கு எதிராகத் தானே பிளவுபடும் எந்த அரசும் பாழாய்ப்போகும். அவ்வாறே பிளவுபடும் வீடும் விழுந்துவிடும். சாத்தானும் தனக்கு எதிராகத் தானே பிளவுபட்டுப் போனால் அவனது அரசு எப்படி நிலைத்து நிற்கும்? பெயல்செபூலைக் கொண்டு நான் பேய்களை ஓட்டுகிறேன் என்கிறீர்களே. நான் பெயல்செபூலைக் கொண்டு பேய்களை ஓட்டுகிறேன் என்றால் உங்களைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் யாரைக் கொண்டு பேய் ஓட்டுகிறார்கள்? ஆகவே அவர்களே உங்கள் கூற்று தவறு என்பதற்குச் சாட்சிகள்.

நான் கடவுளின் ஆற்றலால் பேய்களை ஓட்டுகிறேன் என்றால் இறையாட்சி உங்களிடம் வந்துள்ளது அல்லவா! வலியவர் ஆயுதம் தாங்கித் தம் அரண்மனையைக் காக்கிறபோது அவருடைய உடைமைகள் பாதுகாப்பாக இருக்கும். அவரைவிட மிகுந்த வலிமையுடையவர் ஒருவர் வந்து அவரை வென்றால் அவர் நம்பியிருந்த எல்லாப் படைக்கலங்களையும் பறித்துக்கொண்டு, கொள்ளைப் பொருளையும் பங்கிடுவார்.

என்னோடு இராதவர் எனக்கு எதிராக இருக்கிறார்; என்னோடு இணைந்து மக்களைக் கூட்டிச் சேர்க்காதவர் அவர்களைச் சிதறடிக்கிறார்.
