பரிசேயரே உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! ஐயோ! திருச்சட்ட அறிஞரே, உங்களுக்கும் கேடு!

✠ லூக்கா எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 11: 42-46.

அக்காலத்தில் இயேசு கூறியது:

“ஐயோ! பரிசேயரே உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! நீங்கள் புதினா, கறியிலை மற்றும் கீரைச் செடிவகைகள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் பத்திலொரு பங்கைக் காணிக்கையாகப் படைக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் நீதியையும் கடவுளின் அன்பையும் பொருட்படுத்துவதில்லை. இவற்றைத்தான் கடைப்பிடித்திருக்க வேண்டும்; ஆனால் அவற்றையும் விட்டுவிடலாகாது.

ஐயோ! பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! தொழுகைக்கூடங்களில் முதன்மையான இருக்கைகளையும் சந்தை வெளிகளில் மக்கள் வணக்கம் செலுத்துவதையும் விரும்புகிறீர்களே. ஐயோ! உங்களுக்குக் கேடு! ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் அடையாளம் தெரியாத கல்லறைகள் போல் இருக்கிறீர்கள். மக்களும் கல்லறைகள் எனத் தெரியாமல் அவற்றின் மீது நடந்து போகிறார்கள்."

திருச்சட்ட அறிஞருள் ஒருவர் அவரைப் பார்த்து, “போதகரே, இவற்றைச் சொல்லி எங்களை இழிவு படுத்துகிறீர்” என்றார்.

அதற்கு அவர், “ஐயோ! திருச்சட்ட அறிஞரே, உங்களுக்கும் கேடு! ஏனென்றால் நீங்கள் தாங்க முடியாத சுமைகளை மக்கள் மேல் சுமத்துகிறீர்கள்; நீங்களோ அந்தச் சுமைகளை ஒரு விரலால் கூடத் தொடமாட்டீர்கள்.”

நன்மை செய்யும் அனைவருக்குமே பெருமையும் மாண்பும் அமைதியும் கிடைக்கும்.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் உரோமையருக்கு எழுதிய திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 2: 1-11

பிறர் குற்றவாளிகள் எனத் தீர்ப்பு அளிப்போரே, நீங்கள் யாராயினும், சாக்குப் போக்குச் சொல்வதற்கு உங்களுக்கு வழியில்லை. ஏனெனில் பிறருக்கு எதிராகத் தீர்ப்பளிக்கும்போது நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கே தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பை அளிக்கிறீர்கள். தீர்ப்பளிக்கும் நீங்கள் அந்தத் தீர்ப்பைப் பெறுவதற்கான செயல்களைச் செய்கிறீர்களே! இத்தகையவற்றைச் செய்வோருக்குக் கடவுள் அளிக்கும் தீர்ப்பு நீதி வழுவாதது என்பது நமக்குத் தெரியும்.

இவற்றைச் செய்வோர்மேல் தீர்ப்பளிக்கும் நீங்களும் இவற்றையே செய்துவருகிறீர்கள்! நீங்கள் மட்டும் கடவுளின் தீர்ப்பிலிருந்து தப்பித்துக் கொள்ளலாம் என நினைக்கிறீர்களா? அல்லது, அவரது அளவற்ற பரிவையும் சகிப்புத்தன்மையையும் பொறுமையையும் ஏளனம் செய்கிறீர்களா? உங்களை மனம்மாறச் செய்வதற்கே கடவுள் பரிவு காட்டுகிறார் என்பது உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா?

உங்கள் கடின உள்ளம் உங்களை மனம்மாற விடவில்லை; ஆகையால் கடவுளின் சினமும் நீதித் தீர்ப்பும் வெளிப்படவேண்டிய நாளில் உங்களுக்கு வரப்போகும் தண்டனையைச் சேமித்து வைக்கிறீர்கள். ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அவரவர் செயல்களுக்கேற்பக் கடவுள் கைம்மாறு செய்வார். மன உறுதியோடு நற்செயல் புரிந்து மாட்சி, மாண்பு, அழியாமை ஆகியவற்றை நாடுவோருக்கு அவர் நிலைவாழ்வை வழங்குவார். ஆனால் தன்னலம் நாடுபவர்களாய் உண்மைக்குப் பணியாமல், அநீதிக்குப் பணிபவர்களின் தலைமேல் அவருடைய சினமும் சீற்றமும் வந்து விழும்.

முதலில் யூதருக்கும் பிறகு கிரேக்கருக்கும் அதாவது, தீமை செய்யும் எல்லா மனிதருக்குமே வேதனையும் நெருக்கடியும் உண்டாகும். அவ்வாறே, முதலில் யூதருக்கும் அடுத்துக் கிரேக்கருக்கும் அதாவது, நன்மை செய்யும் அனைவருக்குமே பெருமையும் மாண்பும் அமைதியும் கிடைக்கும். ஏனெனில் கடவுள் ஆள் பார்த்துச் செயல்படுவதில்லை.

The Lord said to the Pharisees: ‘Alas for you Pharisees! You who pay your tithe of mint and rue and all sorts of garden herbs and overlook justice and the love of God! These you should have practised, without leaving the others undone. Alas for you Pharisees who like taking the seats of honour in the synagogues and being greeted obsequiously in the market squares! Alas for you, because you are like the unmarked tombs that men walk on without knowing it!

  A lawyer then spoke up. ‘Master,’ he said ‘when you speak like this you insult us too.’

  ‘Alas for you lawyers also,’ he replied ‘because you load on men burdens that are unendurable, burdens that you yourselves do not move a finger to lift.’

Do you think you will escape God's judgement?

A Reading from the Letter of St.Paul to the Romans 2: 1-11. 

No matter who you are, if you pass judgement you have no excuse. In judging others you condemn yourself, since you behave no differently from those you judge. We know that God condemns that sort of behaviour impartially: and when you judge those who behave like this while you are doing exactly the same, do you think you will escape God’s judgement? Or are you abusing his abundant goodness, patience and toleration, not realising that this goodness of God is meant to lead you to repentance? Your stubborn refusal to repent is only adding to the anger God will have towards you on that day of anger when his just judgements will be made known. He will repay each one as his works deserve. For those who sought renown and honour and immortality by always doing good there will be eternal life; for the unsubmissive who refused to take truth for their guide and took depravity instead, there will be anger and fury. Pain and suffering will come to every human being who employs himself in evil – Jews first, but Greeks as well; renown, honour and peace will come to everyone who does good – Jews first, but Greeks as well. God has no favourites.
