எந்த அளவையால் அளக்கிறீர்களோ, அதே அளவையால் உங்களுக்கும் அளக்கப்படும்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு மக்களிடம், “விளக்கைக் கொண்டு வருவது எதற்காக? மரக்காலின் உள்ளேயோ கட்டிலின் கீழேயோ வைப்பதற்காகவா? விளக்குத் தண்டின்மீது வைப்பதற்காக அல்லவா? வெளிப்படாது மறைந்திருப்பது ஒன்றுமில்லை. வெளியாகாமல் ஒளிந்திருப்பது ஒன்றுமில்லை. கேட்கச் செவியுள்ளோர் கேட்கட்டும்” என்றார். மேலும் அவர், “நீங்கள் கேட்பதைக் குறித்துக் கவனமாயிருங்கள். நீங்கள் எந்த அளவையால் அளக்கிறீர்களோ அதே அளவையால் உங்களுக்கும் அளக்கப்படும்; இன்னும் கூடுதலாகவும் கொடுக்கப்படும்.

ஏனெனில், உள்ளவருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; இல்லாதவரிடமிருந்து உள்ளதும் எடுக்கப்படும்” என்று அவர்களிடம் கூறினார்.

ஆண்டவரே! தாவீதையும் அவர் பட்ட இன்னல்கள் அனைத்தையும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தருளும்.

அவர் ஆண்டவராகிய உமக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறியதை, யாக்கோபின் வல்லவராகிய உமக்குச் செய்த பொருத்தனையை நினைவுகூர்ந்தருளும். - பல்லவி

‘‘ஆண்டவருக்கு ஓர் இடத்தை, யாக்கோபின் வல்லவருக்கு ஓர் உறைவிடத்தை நான் அமைக்கும் வரையில்,

என் இல்லமாகிய கூடாரத்தினுள் செல்லமாட்டேன்; படுப்பதற்காக என் மஞ்சத்தில் ஏறமாட்டேன்;

ஆண்டவர் தாவீதுக்கு உண்மையாய் ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறினார்; அவர்தம் வாக்குறுதியினின்று பின்வாங்க மாட்டார்: “உனக்குப் பிறந்த ஒருவனை அரசனாக ஏற்படுத்தி உன் அரியணையில் வீற்றிருக்கச் செய்வேன். - பல்லவி

உன் மைந்தர் என் உடன்படிக்கையையும், நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கும் என் நியமங்களையும் கடைப்பிடித்தால், அவர்களுடைய மைந்தரும் என்றென்றும் உன் அரியணையில் வீற்றிருப்பர்". - பல்லவி

ஆண்டவர் சீயோனைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தார்; அதையே தம் உறைவிடமாக்க விரும்பினார்.

இது என்றென்றும் நான் இளைப்பாறும் இடம்; இதை நான் விரும்பினதால் இதையே என் உறைவிடமாக்குவேன். - பல்லவி

என் ஆண்டவரே! நீர் என்னை வழி நடத்த நான் யார்?

சாமுவேல் இரண்டாம் நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 7: 18-19, 24-29

அந்நாள்களில்

தாவீது ஆண்டவர் திருமுன் வந்து அமர்ந்து இவ்வாறு பேசினார்: “என் தலைவராம் ஆண்டவரே! இதுவரை நீர் என்னை வழிநடத்தி வந்தமைக்கு, நான் யார்? என் குடும்பம் யாது? இருப்பினும் என் தலைவராம் ஆண்டவரே, உம் திருமுன் இது சிறிதே. உம் ஊழியனின் குடும்பத்தைப் பற்றிய எதிர்காலத்தைப் பற்றியும் நீர் பேசியுள்ளீர்! என் தலைவராம் ஆண்டவரே, மனித வழக்கம் இதுவல்லவே!

என்றும் உம் மக்களாகவே நிலைத்து இருக்குமாறு இஸ்ரயேலரை நீர் உமக்குரியவர் ஆக்கினீர்! ஆண்டவரே! நீரே அவர்களின் கடவுள் ஆனீர்! ஆண்டவராகிய கடவுளே! உமது ஊழியனைப் பற்றியும் அவனது குடும்பத்தைப் பற்றியும் நீர் தந்த உறுதிமொழியை என்றும் நிலைநாட்டும்! நீர் வாக்குறுதி அளித்தவாறே செய்யும்! உமது பெயர் என்றும் மாட்சி பெறுவதாக! அப்பொழுது மாந்தர் ‘படைகளின் ஆண்டவரே இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுள்’ என்பர். உமது ஊழியன் தாவீதின் குடும்பமும் உம் திருமுன் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.

ஏனெனில், படைகளின் ஆண்டவரே! இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளே! ‘நான் உனக்கு ஓர் இல்லம் எழுப்புவேன்’ என்று உமது ஊழியனுக்கு வெளிப்படுத் தியவர் நீரே! ஆகவே இவ்வாறு மன்றாட உம் ஊழியனுக்கு மனத் துணிவு ஏற்பட்டது. தலைவராம் ஆண்டவரே! நீரே கடவுள்! உமது வார்த்தைகள் நம்பிக்கைக்கு உரியவை!

இந்த நல்வாக்கை அடியேனுக்கு அருளியவர் நீரே! உம் ஊழியனின் குடும்பம் என்றும் உம் திருமுன் இருக்குமாறு நீர் அருள்கூர்ந்து அதற்கு ஆசி வழங்கும்! தலைவராகிய நீர் உரைத்துள்ளீர்! உம் ஊழியனின் குடும்பம் என்றும் உமது ஆசியைப் பெறுவதாக!”

Jesus said to the crowd, ‘Would you bring in a lamp to put it under a tub or under the bed? Surely you will put it on the lamp-stand? For there is nothing hidden but it must be disclosed, nothing kept secret except to be brought to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him listen to this.’

  He also said to them, ‘Take notice of what you are hearing. The amount you measure out is the amount you will be given – and more besides; for the man who has will be given more; from the man who has not, even what he has will be taken away.’

'The house of your servant will be blessed for ever'

2 Samuel 7: 18-19,24-29 

After Nathan had spoken to him, King David went in and, seated before the Lord, said: ‘Who am I, O Lord, and what is my House, that you have led me as far as this? Yet in your sight, O Lord, this is still not far enough, and you make your promises extend to the House of your servant for a far-distant future. You have constituted your people Israel to be your own people for ever; and you, Lord, have become their God.

  ‘Now, O Lord, always keep the promise you have made your servant and his House, and do as you have said. Your name will be exalted for ever and men will say, “The Lord of Hosts is God over Israel.” The House of your servant David will be made secure in your presence, since you yourself, Lord of Hosts, God of Israel, have made this revelation to your servant, “I will build you a House”; hence your servant has ventured to offer this prayer to you. Yes, Lord, you are God indeed, your words are true and you have made this fair promise to your servant. Be pleased, then, to bless the House of your servant, that it may continue for ever in your presence; for you, Lord, have spoken; and with your blessing the House of your servant will be for ever blessed.’
