இயேசு தங்கியிருந்த இடத்தைச் சீடர் பார்த்தார்கள்; அவரோடு தங்கினார்கள்.

யோவான் தம் சீடர் இருவருடன் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தார். இயேசு அப்பக்கம் நடந்து சென்று கொண்டிருந்தார். யோவான் அவரைக் கூர்ந்து பார்த்து, ``இதோ! கடவுளின் செம்மறி'' என்றார். அந்தச் சீடர் இருவரும் அவர் சொன்னதைக் கேட்டு இயேசுவைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தனர். இயேசு திரும்பிப் பார்த்து, அவர்கள் தம்மைப் பின்தொடர்வதைக் கண்டு, ``என்ன தேடுகிறீர்கள்?'' என்று அவர்களிடம் கேட்டார். அவர்கள், ``ரபி, நீர் எங்கே தங்கியிருக்கிறீர்?'' என்று கேட்டார்கள். அவர் அவர்களிடம், ``வந்து பாருங்கள்'' என்றார். அவர்களும் சென்று அவர் தங்கியிருந்த இடத்தைப் பார்த்தார்கள். அப்போது ஏறக்குறைய மாலை நான்கு மணி. அன்று அவர்கள் அவரோடு தங்கினார்கள். யோவான் சொன்னதைக் கேட்டு இயேசுவைப் பின்தொடர்ந்த இருவருள் அந்திரேயா ஒருவர். அவர் சீமோன் பேதுருவின் சகோதரர். அவர் போய் முதலில் தம் சகோதரரான சீமோனைப் பார்த்து, ``மெசியாவைக் கண்டோம்'' என்றார். `மெசியா' என்றால் அருள்பொழிவு பெற்றவர் என்பது பொருள். பின்பு அவர் சீமோனை இயேசுவிடம் அழைத்து வந்தார். இயேசு அவரைக் கூர்ந்து பார்த்து, ``நீ யோவானின் மகன் சீமோன். இனி `கேபா' எனப்படுவாய்'' என்றார். `கேபா' என்றால் `பாறை' என்பது பொருள். 

இது கிறிஸ்து வழங்கும் நற்செய்தி.

இரண்டாம் வாசகம் உங்கள் உடல்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் உறுப்புகள். திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய முதல் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 6: 13-15,17-20

உங்கள் உடல்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் உறுப்புகள். 

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய முதல் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 6: 13-15,17-20 

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, உடல் பரத்தைமைக்கு அல்ல, ஆண்டவருக்கே உரியது. ஆண்டவரும் உடலுக்கே உரியவர். ஆண்டவரை உயிர்த்தெழச் செய்த கடவுள் தம் வல்லமையால் நம்மையும் உயிர்த்தெழச் செய்வார். உங்கள் உடல்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் உறுப்புகள் என்று தெரியாதா? ஆண்டவரோடு சேர்ந்திருப்பவர் அவருடன் உள்ளத்தால் ஒன்றித்திருக்கிறார். எனவே பரத்தைமையை விட்டு விலகுங்கள். மனிதர் செய்யும் எப்பாவமும் உடலுக்குப் புறம்பானது. ஆனால் பரத்தைமையில் ஈடுபடுவோர் தம் சொந்த உடலுக்கு எதிராகவே பாவம் செய்கின்றனர். உங்கள் உடல் நீங்கள் கடவுளிடமிருந்து பெற்றுக்கொண்ட தூய ஆவி தங்கும் கோவில் என்று தெரியாதா? நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு உரியவரல்ல. கடவுள் உங்களை விலை கொடுத்து மீட்டுள்ளார். எனவே, உங்கள் உடலால் கடவுளுக்குப் பெருமை சேருங்கள். 

இது ஆண்டவர் வழங்கும் அருள்வாக்கு.

ஆண்டவரே பேசும், உம் அடியான் கேட்கிறேன். 

சாமுவேல் முதல் நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 3: 3b-10, 19 

அந்நாள்களில் கடவுளின் பேழை வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த ஆண்டவரின் இல்லத்தில் சாமுவேல் படுத்திருந்தான். அப்பொழுது ஆண்டவர், "சாமுவேல்" என்று அழைத்தார். அதற்கு அவன், "இதோ! அடியேன்" என்று சொல்லி, ஏலியிடம் ஓடி, "இதோ! அடியேன். என்னை அழைத்தீர்களா?" என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவர், "நான் அழைக்கவில்லை. திரும்பிச் சென்று படுத்துக்கொள்" என்றார். அவனும் சென்று படுத்துக்கொண்டான். ஆண்டவர் மீண்டும் "சாமுவேல்" என்று அழைக்க, அவன் எழுந்து ஏலியிடம் சென்று, "இதோ! அடியேன். என்னை அழைத்தீர்களா?'' என்று கேட்டான். அவரோ, "நான் அழைக்கவில்லை மகனே! சென்று படுத்துக் கொள்'' என்றார். சாமுவேல் ஆண்டவரை இன்னும் அறியவில்லை அவனுக்கு ஆண்டவரின் வார்த்தை இன்னும் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படவில்லை. மூன்றாம் முறையாக ஆண்டவர், "சாமுவேல்" என்று அழைத்தார். அவன் எழுந்து ஏலியிடம் சென்று, "இதோ! அடியேன். என்னை அழைத்தீர்களா?" என்று கேட்டான். அப்பொழுது சிறுவனை ஆண்டவர்தாம் அழைத்தார் என்று ஏலி தெரிந்து கொண்டார். பின்பு ஏலி சாமுவேலை நோக்கி, "சென்று படுத்துக்கொள். உன்னை அவர் மீண்டும் அழைத்தால் அதற்கு நீ, "ஆண்டவரே பேசும், உம் அடியான் கேட்கிறேன்" என்று பதில் சொல்" என்றார். சாமுவேலும் தன் இடத்திற்குச் சென்று படுத்துக்கொண்டான். அப்போது ஆண்டவர் வந்து நின்று, "சாமுவேல், சாமுவேல்" என்று முன்புபோல் அழைத்தார். அதற்குச் சாமுவேல், "பேசும், உம் அடியான் கேட்கிறேன்" என்று மறுமொழி கூறினான். சாமுவேல் வளர்ந்தான்; ஆண்டவர் அவனோடு இருந்தார்; சாமுவேலது வார்த்தை எதையும் அவர் தரையில் விழவிடவில்லை. 

இது ஆண்டவர் வழங்கும் அருள்வாக்கு.

I came to call the righteous, not sinners. 

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John (1, 35-42) 

"They saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him" 

At that time, John the Baptist was with two of his disciples. Looking at Jesus who came and went, he said: “Here is the Lamb of God. The two disciples heard what he was saying, and they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw that they were following him and said to them, “What are you looking for? They answered him: "Rabbi - which means: Master - where are you staying? He said to them, "Come and see. So they went, and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was around the tenth hour (around four in the afternoon).

Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two disciples who had heard John's word and who had followed Jesus. He first finds Simon, his own brother, and says to him, "We have found the Messiah" - which means: Christ. Andrew brought his brother to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said: “You are Simon, son of John; you will be called Kèphas ”- which means: Peter.

"Your bodies are members of Christ" 

from the first letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (6, 13c-15a.17-20) 

Brethren, the body is not for debauchery, it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body; and God, by his power, raised the Lord up and will raise us up too. Don't you know? Your bodies are members of Christ. He who unites with the Lord makes one spirit with him. Flee debauchery. All the sins that man can commit are outside his body; but a man who indulges in debauchery commits a sin against his own body; do you not know it? Your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom you have received from God; you are no longer your own, for you have been bought at a great price. Therefore give glory to God in your body.

"Speak, Lord, your servant is listening" 

from the first book of Samuel (3, 3b-10.19) 

In those days, young Samuel was lying in the temple of the Lord at Shiloh, where the ark of God was. The Lord called Samuel, who replied, “Here I am! He ran to the priest Eli, and he said, "You called me, here I am. Eli replied: "I did not call. Go back to bed. The child went to bed. Again the Lord called Samuel. And Samuel stood up. He went to Eli, and he said, “You called me, here I am. Eli replied: "I did not call, my son. Go back to bed. Samuel did not yet know the Lord, and the word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him.

Again the Lord called Samuel. The latter stood up. He went to Eli, and he said, “You called me, here I am. Then Eli understood that it was the Lord who was calling the child, and he said to him: "Go back to bed, and if he calls you, you will say:" Speak, Lord, your servant is listening. " Samuel went to bed again in his usual place. The Lord came, he stood there and he called like the other times: “Samuel! Samuel! And Samuel answered, "Speak, your servant is listening." "

Samuel grows. The Lord was with him, and he left none of his words ineffective.
