தமக்குள்ள யாவற்றையும் விற்று, அந்த நிலத்தை வாங்கிக்கொள்கிறார்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு மக்களை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: “ஒருவர் நிலத்தில் மறைந்திருந்த புதையல் ஒன்றைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கிறார். அவர் அதை மூடி மறைத்துவிட்டு, மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் போய்த் தமக்குள்ள யாவற்றையும் விற்று அந்த நிலத்தை வாங்கிக்கொள்கிறார். விண்ணரசு இப்புதையலுக்கு ஒப்பாகும்.

வணிகர் ஒருவர் நல்முத்துகளைத் தேடிச்செல்கிறார். விலை உயர்ந்த ஒரு முத்தைக் கண்டவுடன் அவர் போய்த் தமக்குள்ள யாவற்றையும் விற்று அதை வாங்கிக் கொள்கிறார். விண்ணரசு அந்நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு ஒப்பாகும்.”

என் கடவுளே! என் எதிரிகளினின்று என்னை விடுவித்தருளும்; என்னை எதிர்த்து எழுவோரிடமிருந்து எனக்குப் பாதுகாப்பு அளித்தருளும்.

தீமை செய்வோரிடமிருந்து எனக்கு விடுதலை அளித்தருளும்; கொலைவெறியரிடமிருந்து என்னைக் காத்தருளும். - பல்லவி

ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் என்னைக் கொல்வதற்காகப் பதுங்கியுள்ளனர்; கொடியவர் என்னைத் தாக்கத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளனர்; நானோ, ஆண்டவரே! குற்றம் ஏதும் இழைக்கவில்லை; பாவம் ஏதும் செய்யவில்லை. - பல்லவி

நீரே என் ஆற்றல்! உமது உதவியை எதிர்பார்க்கின்றேன்; ஏனெனில், கடவுளே! நீரே என் அரண்.

எனக்கு ஏன் தீராத வேதனை? நீ திரும்பி வந்தால் என்முன் வந்து நிற்பாய்

இறைவாக்கினர் எரேமியா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 15: 10, 16-21

நாடெங்கும் சண்டை சச்சரவுக்குக் காரணமான என்னைப் பெற்றெடுத்த என் தாயே, எனக்கு ஐயோ கேடு! நான் கடன் கொடுக்கவும் இல்லை; கடன் வாங்கியதும் இல்லை. எனினும் எல்லாரும் என்னைச் சபிக்கிறார்கள்.

நான் உம் சொற்களைக் கண்டடைந்தேன்; அவற்றை உட்கொண்டேன்; உம் சொற்கள் எனக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி தந்தன; என் உள்ளத்திற்கு உவகை அளித்தன. ஏனெனில் படைகளின் ஆண்டவரே, உம் பெயரே எனக்கு வழங்கலாயிற்று.

களியாட்டக் கூட்டங்களில் அமர்ந்து நான் மகிழ்ச்சி கொண்டாடவில்லை. உம் கை என்மேல் இருந்ததால் நான் தனியனாய் இருந்தேன். சினத்தால் நீர் என்னை நிரப்பியிருந்தீர். எனக்கு ஏன் தீராத வேதனை? குணமாகாக் கொடிய காயம்? நீர் எனக்குக் கானல் நீரென, ஏமாற்றும் ஓடையென ஆகிவிட்டீரோ!

எனவே, ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: “நீ திரும்பி வந்தால் நான் உன்னை முன்னைய நிலைக்குக் கொண்டு வருவேன். என்முன் வந்து நிற்பாய்; பயனில நீக்கிப் பயனுள பேசின், நீ என் இறைவாக்கினனாக இருப்பாய். அவர்கள் உன்னிடம் திரும்பி வருவார்கள்; நீ அவர்களிடம் திரும்ப வேண்டாம். நான் உன்னை அவர்கள்முன் வலிமை வாய்ந்த வெண்கலச் சுவராக்குவேன்; அவர்கள் உனக்கு எதிராய்ப் போராடுவார்கள்; ஆனால், உன்மேல் வெற்றிகொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்; ஏனெனில் உன்னை விடுவிக்கவும் காக்கவும் நான் உன்னோடு இருக்கிறேன், என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர். தீயோரின் கையினின்று நான் உன்னைக் காப்பேன்; முரடரின் பிடியினின்று உன்னை மீட்பேன்.”

Jesus said to the crowds: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field which someone has found; he hides it again, goes off happy, sells everything he owns and buys the field.

  ‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls; when he finds one of great value he goes and sells everything he owns and buys it.’

They will not overcome you, because I am with you

A Reading from the Book of Jeremiah 15:10,16-21 

‘Woe is me, my mother, for you have borne me

to be a man of strife and of dissension for all the land.

I neither lend nor borrow,

yet all of them curse me.

‘When your words came, I devoured them:

your word was my delight

and the joy of my heart;

for I was called by your name,

Lord, God of Hosts.

I never took pleasure in sitting in scoffers’ company;

with your hand on me I held myself aloof,

since you had filled me with indignation.

Why is my suffering continual,

my wound incurable, refusing to be healed?

Do you mean to be for me a deceptive stream

with inconstant waters?’

To which the Lord replied,

‘If you come back,

I will take you back into my service;

and if you utter noble, not despicable, thoughts,

you shall be as my own mouth.

They will come back to you,

but you must not go back to them.

I will make you

a bronze wall fortified against this people.

They will fight against you

but they will not overcome you,

because I am with you

to save you and to deliver you

– it is the Lord who speaks.

I mean to deliver you from the hands of the wicked

and redeem you from the clutches of the violent.’
