இறைவார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு அதன்படி செயல்படுகிறவர்களே, என் தாயும் சகோதரர்களும் ஆவார்கள்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசுவின் தாயும் சகோதரர்களும் இயேசுவிடம் வந்தார்கள். ஆனால் மக்கள் திரளாக இருந்த காரணத்தால் அவரை அணுக முடியவில்லை. “உம் தாயும் சகோதரர்களும் உம்மைப் பார்க்க விரும்பி வெளியே நின்று கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்” என்று அவருக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “இறைவார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு அதன்படி செயல்படுகிறவர்களே என் தாயும் என் சகோதரர்களும் ஆவார்கள்” என்றார்.

இறைவனின் கோவிலைக் கட்டி முடித்து பாஸ்கா விழாக் கொண்டாடுங்கள்.

எஸ்ரா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 6: 7-8, 12b, 14-20

கடவுளின் கோவிலைக் கட்டும் பணியைத் தடை செய்யாதிருங்கள். யூதர்களின் ஆளுநரும், யூதர்களின் மூப்பர்களும் கடவுளின் கோவிலை, அது முன்பு இருந்த இடத்தில், மீண்டும் எழுப்பட்டும். யூதர்களின் மூப்பர் கடவுளின் கோவிலைக் கட்டுவதற்கு நீங்கள் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பது பற்றி ஆணை பிறப்பிக்கிறேன். அவர்கள் வேலை தடைப்படாதபடி, அதற்கான முழுச் செலவைப் பேராற்றின் அக்கரைப் பகுதியிலிருந்து வரும் வரியாகிய அரச வருவாயினின்று கொடுக்க வேண்டும். தாரியு என்னும் நானே இக்கட்டளையைப் பிறப்பித்தேன். இது சரிவர நிறைவேற்றப்படட்டும்.

இறைவாக்கினர் ஆகாயும் இத்தோவின் மகன் செக்கரியாவும் இறைவாக்கு உரைத்ததன் விளைவாக யூத மூப்பர்கள் கோவிலைக் கட்டினர்; வேலையும் முன்னேறிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளது ஆணையாலும், பாரசீக மன்னர்களான சைரசு, தாரியு, அர்த்தக்சஸ்தா ஆகியோரின் கட்டளையாலும் அவர்கள் கட்டடப் பணியை முடித்தனர். மன்னர் தாரியு ஆட்சியின் ஆறாம் ஆண்டிலே, அதார் திங்கள் மூன்றாம் நாளிலே, கோவில் வேலை நிறைவுற்றது.

இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள், குருக்கள், லேவியர், அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து திரும்பி வந்த ஏனையோர், கடவுளின் கோவில் அர்ப்பண விழாவை அக்களிப்புடன் கொண்டாடினார்கள். கடவுளின் கோவில் அர்ப்பண விழாவில் நூறு காளைகளையும், இருநூறு செம்மறிக் கிடாய்களையும், நானூறு செம்மறிக் குட்டிகளையும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரயேல் குலக் கணக்கின்படி, பன்னிரண்டு வெள்ளாட்டுக் கிடாய்களை இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் பாவம் போக்கும் பலியாகச் செலுத்தினார்கள். மோசேயின் நூலில் எழுதியுள்ளபடி, எருசலேமில் கடவுளின் பணிக்காகக் குருக்களை அவர்களின் பிரிவின்படியும் லேவியரை அவர்களின் துறைகளின்படியும் அவர்கள் நியமித்தனர்.

மேலும் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து திரும்பி வந்த மக்கள் பாஸ்கா விழாவை முதல் மாதத்தின் பதினான்காம் நாள் கொண்டாடினர். குருக்களும் லேவியரும் ஒன்றிணைந்து தங்களைத் தூய்மைப்படுத்திக் கொண்டனர். அவர்கள் தூய்மையானார்கள். அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து திரும்பி வந்திருந்த எல்லா மக்களுக்காகவும், சகோதரக் குருக்களுக்காகவும், தங்களுக்காகவும் அவர்கள் பாஸ்கா ஆட்டுக்குட்டியைக் கொன்றனர்.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Luke 8:19-21 

The mother and the brothers of Jesus came looking for him, but they could not get to him because of the crowd. He was told, ‘Your mother and brothers are standing outside and want to see you.’ But he said in answer, ‘My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice.’

Darius king of Persia pays for the rebuilding of the Temple of God

A reading from the book of Ezra 6:7-8,12,14-20 

King Darius wrote to the satrap of Transeuphrates and his colleagues: ‘Leave the high commissioner of Judah and the elders of the Jews to work on this Temple of God; they are to rebuild this Temple of God on its ancient site. This, I decree, is how you must assist the elders of the Jews in the reconstruction of this Temple of God: the expenses of these people are to be paid, promptly and without fail, from the royal revenue – that is, from the tribute of Transeuphrates. May the God who causes his name to live there overthrow any king or people who dares to defy this and destroy the Temple of God in Jerusalem! I, Darius, have issued this decree. Let it be obeyed to the letter!’

  The elders of the Jews prospered with their building, inspired by Haggai the prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo. They finished the building in accordance with the order of the God of Israel and the order of Cyrus and of Darius. This Temple was finished on the twenty-third day of the month of Adar; it was the sixth year of the reign of King Darius. The Israelites – the priests, the Levites and the remainder of the exiles – joyfully dedicated this Temple of God; for the dedication of this Temple of God they offered one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs and, as a sacrifice for sin for the whole of Israel, twelve he-goats, corresponding to the number of the tribes of Israel. Then they installed the priests according to their orders in the service of the Temple of God in Jerusalem, as is written in the Book of Moses.

  The exiles celebrated the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Levites, as one man, had purified themselves; all were pure, so they sacrificed the passover for all the exiles, for their brothers the priests and for themselves.
