காது கேளாதோர் கேட்கவும், பேச்சற்றோர் பேசவும், ஆண்டவர் செய்கிறார்.

✠ மாற்கு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 7: 31-37

இயேசு தீர் பகுதியை விட்டு, சீதோன் வழியாகச் சென்று தெக்கப்பொலி பகுதி நடுவே வந்து, கலிலேயக் கடலை அடைந்தார். காது கேளாதவரும் திக்கிப் பேசுபவருமான ஒருவரைச் சிலர் அவரிடம் கொண்டு வந்து, அவர்மீது கை வைத்துக் குணமாக்குமாறு அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டனர். இயேசு அவரைக் கூட்டத்திலிருந்து தனியே அழைத்துச் சென்று, தம் விரல்களை அவர் காதுகளில் இட்டு, உமிழ் நீரால் அவர் நாவைத் தொட்டார்; பிறகு வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார்த்து, பெருமூச்சு விட்டு, அவரை நோக்கி, “எப்பத்தா” அதாவது ‘திறக்கப்படு’ என்றார். உடனே அவருடைய காதுகள் திறக்கப்பட்டன; நாவும் கட்டவிழ்ந்தது. அவர் தெளிவாகப் பேசினார்.

இதை எவருக்கும் சொல்ல வேண்டாமென்று அவர்களுக்கு அவர் கட்டளையிட்டார். அவரது கட்டளைக்கு நேர்மாறாக இன்னும் மிகுதியாய் அவர்கள் அதை அறிவித்து வந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அளவு கடந்த வியப்பில் ஆழ்ந்தவர்களாய், “இவர் எத்துணை நன்றாக யாவற்றையும் செய்து வருகிறார்! காது கேளாதோர் கேட்கவும் பேச்சற்றோர் பேசவும் செய்கிறாரே!” என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

ஒரு நாள் எரொபவாம் எருசலேமிலிருந்து வெளியே போனபோது, சீலோவைச் சார்ந்த அகியா என்ற இறைவாக்கினர், அவனை வழியில் கண்டார்.

அவர் புதுச் சால்வை ஒன்று அணிந்திருந்தார். இருவரும் வயல் வெளியே தனித்திருந்தனர். அப்பொழுது அகியா தாம் போர்த்தியிருந்த புதுச் சால்வையை எடுத்து அதைப் பன்னிரு துண்டுகளாய்க் கிழித்தார். பிறகு அவர் எரொபவாமை நோக்கிப் பின்வருமாறு கூறினார்: “இவற்றில் பத்துத் துண்டுகளை உனக்கென எடுத்துக்கொள். ஏனெனில் இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் உனக்கு இவ்வாறு கூறுகிறார்: ‘இதோ, நான் சாலமோன் கையினின்று அரசைப் பறித்து, பத்துக் குலங்களை உனக்கு அளிக்கப் போகிறேன். ஆயினும் என் ஊழியன் தாவீதை முன்னிட்டும், இஸ்ரயேலரின் நகர்கள் அனைத்திலிருந்தும் நான் தேர்ந்துகொண்ட எருசலேம் நகரை முன்னிட்டும் ஒரு குலம் மட்டும் அவன் கையில் இருக்கும்.’ “

தாவீதின் குடும்பத்துக்கு எதிராக அன்று கிளர்ந்தெழுந்த இஸ்ரயேலர் இன்றுவரை அவ்வாறே இருக்கின்றனர்.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark 7: 31-37 

Returning from the district of Tyre, Jesus went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, right through the Decapolis region. And they brought him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they asked him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, put his fingers into the man’s ears and touched his tongue with spittle. Then looking up to heaven he sighed; and he said to him, ‘Ephphatha’, that is, ‘Be opened.’ And his ears were opened, and the ligament of his tongue was loosened and he spoke clearly. And Jesus ordered them to tell no one about it, but the more he insisted, the more widely they published it. Their admiration was unbounded. ‘He has done all things well,’ they said ‘he makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.’

Solomon is unfaithful; the Lord moderates his wrath

1 Kings 11: 29-32,12:19 

One day when Jeroboam had gone out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah of Shiloh accosted him on the road. Ahijah was wearing a new cloak; the two of them were in the open country by themselves. Ahijah took the new cloak he was wearing and tore it into twelve strips, saying to Jeroboam, ‘Take ten strips for yourself, for thus the Lord speaks, the God of Israel, “I am going to tear the kingdom from Solomon’s hand and give ten tribes to you. He shall keep one tribe for the sake of my servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.’

  And Israel has been separated from the House of David until the present day.
