SECOND READING
"To come to the stature of Christ in his fullness"
Reading from the letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Ephesians (4, 1-13)
Brothers, I who am in prison for the Lord's sake, therefore I urge you to conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of your vocation: have much humility, gentleness and patience, support one another with love; take care to keep unity in the Spirit by the bond of peace. As your vocation has called you all to one hope, so there is one Body and one Spirit. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, above all, through all, and in all. To each of us grace has been given according to the measure of the gift made by Christ. This is why the Scripture says: He ascended to the heights, He took captives, He gave gifts to men. What means : It is mounted ? - It means that he first descended to the lower regions of the earth. And he that descended is the same that ascended above all the heavens to fill the universe. And the gifts he made are the Apostles, and also the prophets, evangelizers, pastors and those who teach. In this way, the faithful are organized so that the tasks of the ministry are fulfilled and the body of Christ is built up, until we all together come to unity in faith and full knowledge of the Son of God, to the state of the perfect Man, to the stature of Christ in his fullness. and also the prophets, evangelizers, pastors and those who teach. In this way, the faithful are organized so that the tasks of the ministry are fulfilled and the body of Christ is built up, until we all together come to unity in faith and full knowledge of the Son of God, to the state of the perfect Man, to the stature of Christ in his fullness.
The Word of the Lord.
