கிறிஸ்து விண்ணேற்றமடைந்து கடவுளின் வலப்புறம் அமர்ந்தார்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு பதினொருவருக்குத் தோன்றி, அவர்களை நோக்கி, “உலகெங்கும் சென்று படைப்பிற்கெல்லாம் நற்செய்தியைப் பறைசாற்றுங்கள். நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு திருமுழுக்குப் பெறுவோர் மீட்புப் பெறுவர்; நம்பிக்கையற்றவரோ தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்புப் பெறுவர். நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோர் பின்வரும் அரும் அடையாளங்களைச் செய்வர்: அவர்கள் என் பெயரால் பேய்களை ஓட்டுவர்; புதிய மொழிகளைப் பேசுவர்; பாம்புகளைத் தம் கையால் பிடிப்பர். கொல்லும் நஞ்சைக் குடித்தாலும் அது அவர்களுக்குத் தீங்கு இழைக்காது. அவர்கள் உடல் நலமற்றோர்மீது கைகளை வைக்க, அவர்கள் குணமடைவர்” என்று கூறினார்.

இவ்வாறு அவர்களோடு பேசியபின்பு ஆண்டவர் இயேசு விண்ணேற்றமடைந்து கடவுளின் வலப்புறம் அமர்ந்தார். அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்று எங்கும் நற்செய்தியைப் பறைசாற்றினர். ஆண்டவரும் உடனிருந்து செயல்பட்டு, நிகழ்ந்த அரும் அடையாளங்களால் அவர்களுடைய வார்த்தையை உறுதிப்படுத்தினார்.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

ஆண்டவர் பொருட்டுக் கைதியாக இருக்கும் நான் உங்களைக் கெஞ்சிக் கேட்கிறேன்; நீங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட அழைப்புக்கு ஏற்ப வாழுங்கள். முழு மனத்தாழ்மையோடும் கனிவோடும் பொறுமையோடும் ஒருவரையொருவர் அன்புடன் தாங்கி, அமைதியுடன் இணைந்து வாழ்ந்து, தூய ஆவி அருளும் ஒருமைப்பாட்டைக் காத்துக்கொள்ள முழு முயற்சி செய்யுங்கள். நீங்கள் ஒரே எதிர்நோக்குக் கொண்டு வாழ அழைக்கப் பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஒரே எதிர்நோக்கு இருப்பதுபோல, உடலும் ஒன்றே; தூய ஆவியும் ஒன்றே. அவ்வாறே ஆண்டவர் ஒருவரே; திருமுழுக்கு ஒன்றே. எல்லாருக்கும் கடவுளும் தந்தையுமானவர் ஒருவரே; அவர் எல்லாருக்கும் மேலானவர்; எல்லார் மூலமாகவும் செயலாற்றுபவர்; எல்லாருக்குள்ளும் இருப்பவர்.

கிறிஸ்து கொடுக்க விரும்பும் அளவுக்கேற்ப நம் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அருள் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆகையால்தான், ‘அவர் உயரே ஏறிச் சென்றார்; அப்போது, சிறைப்பட்ட கைதிகளை இழுத்துச் சென்றார்; மனிதருக்குப் பரிசுகளை வழங்கினார்’ என்று மறைநூல் கூறுகிறது.

‘ஏறிச் சென்றார்’ என்பதனால் அதன் முன்பு மண்ணுலகின் கீழான பகுதிகளுக்கு அவர் இறங்கினார் என்று விளங்குகிறது அல்லவா? கீழே இறங்கியவர்தான் எங்கும் நிறைந்திருக்கும்படி எல்லா வானுலகங்களுக்கும் மேலாக ஏறிச் சென்றவர்.

அவரே சிலரைத் திருத்தூதராகவும், சிலரை இறைவாக்கினராகவும், வேறு சிலரை நற்செய்தியாளர்களாகவும், ஆயர்களாகவும், போதகர்களாகவும் ஏற்படுத்தினார். திருத்தொண்டாற்ற இறைமக்களை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தவும், கிறிஸ்துவின் உடலைக் கட்டி எழுப்பவும் இவர்களை அவர் ஏற்படுத்தினார். அதனால் நாம் எல்லாரும் இறைமகனைப் பற்றிய அறிவிலும் நம்பிக்கையிலும் ஒருமைப்பாட்டை அடைவோம். கிறிஸ்துவிடம் காணப்பட்ட நிறைவைப் பெறும் அளவுக்கு நாம் முதிர்ச்சியடைவோம்.

திருத்தூதர் பணிகள் நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 1: 1-11

தெயோபில் அவர்களே, இயேசு தாம் தெரிந்துகொண்ட திருத்தூதர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் தூய ஆவியின் துணையோடு செய்ய வேண்டியவற்றைக் குறித்து அறிவுறுத்தியபின் விண்ணேற்றமடைந்தார். விண்ணேற்றமடைந்த நாள்வரை அவர் செய்தவை, கற்பித்தவை யாவற்றையும் குறித்து எனது முதலாம் நூலில் நான் எழுதினேன். இயேசு துன்புற்று இறந்தபின்பு நாற்பது நாள்களாக அவர்களுக்குத் தோன்றி, இறையாட்சியைப்பற்றிக் கற்பித்தார்; பல தெளிவான சான்றுகளால் தாம் உயிரோடிருப்பதைக் காண்பித்தார்.

அவர்களோடு சேர்ந்து உண்ணும்போது அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் எருசலேமை விட்டு நீங்க வேண்டாம். என்னிடமிருந்து கேட்டறிந்த தந்தையின் வாக்குறுதி நிறைவேறக் காத்திருங்கள். யோவான் தண்ணீரால் திருமுழுக்குக் கொடுத்தார். நீங்களோ இன்னும் சில நாள்களில் தூய ஆவியால் திருமுழுக்குப் பெறுவீர்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.

பின்பு அங்கே கூடியிருந்தவர்கள் அவரிடம், “ஆண்டவரே, இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு ஆட்சியுரிமையை மீண்டும் பெற்றுத் தரும் காலம் இதுதானோ?” என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு அவர், “என் தந்தை தம் அதிகாரத்தால் குறித்துவைத்துள்ள நேரங்களையும் காலங்களையும் அறிவது உங்களுக்கு உரியது அல்ல; ஆனால் தூய ஆவி உங்களிடம் வரும்போது நீங்கள் கடவுளது வல்லமையைப் பெற்று எருசலேமிலும் யூதேயா, சமாரியா முழுவதிலும் உலகின் கடையெல்லை வரைக்கும் எனக்குச் சாட்சிகளாய் இருப்பீர்கள்” என்றார்.

இவற்றைச் சொன்னபின்பு, அவர்கள் கண்கள் முன்பாக அவர் மேலே எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டார். மேகம் ஒன்று அவரை எடுத்துச் சென்று அவர்கள் பார்வையிலிருந்து மறைத்துவிட்டது. அவர் செல்லும்போது அவர்கள் வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார்த்துக்கொண்டே இருந்தார்கள். அப்போது வெண்ணுடை அணிந்த இருவர் தோன்றி, “கலிலேயரே, நீங்கள் ஏன் வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார்த்துக்கொண்டே நிற்கிறீர்கள்? இந்த இயேசு உங்களிடமிருந்து விண்ணேற்றம் அடைந்ததைக் கண்டீர்கள் அல்லவா? அவ்வாறே அவர் மீண்டும் வருவார்” என்றனர்.

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Mark (16, 15-20) 

At that time, the risen Jesus manifested himself to the eleven Apostles and said to them: “Go into the whole world. Proclaim the gospel to all creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; he who refuses to believe will be condemned. These are the signs that will accompany those who will become believers: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new languages; they will take snakes in their hands and, if they drink a deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and the sick will be well. "

Brothers, I who am in prison for the Lord's sake, therefore I urge you to conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of your vocation: have much humility, gentleness and patience, support one another with love; take care to keep unity in the Spirit by the bond of peace. As your vocation has called you all to one hope, so there is one Body and one Spirit. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, above all, through all, and in all. Dear Theophilus, in my first book I spoke of everything that Jesus did and taught from the moment he began, until the day he was taken up into heaven, after having, by the Holy Spirit, given his instructions to the Apostles he had chosen. It was to them that he presented himself alive after his Passion; he gave them many proofs of this, since for forty days he appeared to them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God.

During a meal which he ate with them, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for the fulfillment of the Father's promise. He declared: “You have heard this promise from my mouth: while John baptized with water, you, it is in the Holy Spirit that you will be baptized in a few days. Thus gathered, the Apostles questioned him: "Lord, is now the time for you to reestablish the kingdom for Israel?
