அக்காலத்தில்

மக்கள் கூட்டத்தை நோக்கி இயேசு கூறியது: “எவரும் விளக்கை ஏற்றி அதை ஒரு பாத்திரத்தால் மூடுவதில்லை; கட்டிலின் கீழ் வைப்பதுமில்லை. மாறாக, உள்ளே வருவோருக்கு ஒளி கிடைக்கும்படி அதை விளக்குத் தண்டின்மீது வைப்பர். வெளிப்படாது மறைந்திருப்பது ஒன்றுமில்லை; அறியப்படாமலும் வெளியாகாமலும் ஒளிந்திருப்பதும் ஒன்றுமில்லை.

ஆகையால், நீங்கள் எத்தகைய மன நிலையில் கேட்கிறீர்கள் என்பது பற்றிக் கவனமாயிருங்கள். உள்ளவருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; இல்லாதவரிடமிருந்து தமக்கு உண்டென்று அவர் நினைப்பதும் எடுத்துக் கொள்ளப்படும்.”

யூதாவிலுள்ள எருசலேமுக்குச் சென்று, இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவருக்கு ஒரு கோவிலைக் கட்டுவார்களாக!

எஸ்ரா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 1: 1-6

எரேமியா வழியாக வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்ட இறைவாக்கு நிறைவேறும்படி பாரசீக மன்னர் சைரசின் முதல் ஆண்டில் அவரது உள்ளுணர்வை ஆண்டவர் தூண்டினார். எனவே சைரசு ஆணை ஒன்றைப் பிறப்பித்து, அதைத் தம் நாடெங்கும் எழுத்து மூலம் வெளியிட்டார்.

“பாரசீக மன்னர் சைரசு கூறுவது: விண்ணகக் கடவுளான ஆண்டவர் மண்ணகத்திலுள்ள எல்லா அரசுகளையும் என்னிடம் ஒப்படைத்துள்ளார். மேலும், யூதாவிலுள்ள எருசலேமில் தமக்கென ஒரு கோவிலைக் கட்டும்படி அவர் என்னை நியமித்துள்ளார். அவருடைய எல்லா மக்களிலும் யார் யார் அவரைச் சார்ந்துள்ளனரோ - கடவுள் அவர்களோடு இருப்பாராக! - அவர்கள், யூதாவிலுள்ள எருசலேமுக்குச் சென்று, இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவருக்கு ஒரு கோவிலைக் கட்டுவார்களாக! எருசலேமில் இருக்கும் அவரே கடவுள்! எஞ்சியுள்ளவன் ஒவ்வொருவனும் எங்கு தங்கியிருந்தாலும் அங்கு வாழும் மக்கள், எருசலேமிலுள்ள கடவுளின் கோவிலுக்குத் தன்னார்வக் காணிக்கை அனுப்புவதோடு, அவனுக்கும் வெள்ளி, பொன், மற்றப் பொருள்கள், கால்நடைகள் ஆகியவற்றைக் கொடுத்து உதவுவார்களாக!"

அப்போது யூதா, பென்யமினுடைய குலத் தலைவர்களும், குருக்களும், லேவியரும், எருசலேமில் ஆண்டவரின் கோவிலைக் கட்டச் செல்லுமாறு ஆண்டவரால் தூண்டப்பெற்ற அனைவரும் புறப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்களைச் சூழ்ந்து வாழ்ந்த மக்கள் தன்னார்வக் காணிக்கை அனைத்தும் கொடுத்ததுமல்லாமல் அவர்களுக்கு வெள்ளிப் பாத்திரங்களையும், பொன்னையும், மற்றப் பொருள்களையும், கால்நடைகளையும், விலையுயர்ந்த பொருள்களையும் கொடுத்து உதவினார்கள்.

For nothing is hidden but it will be made clear, nothing secret but it will be known and brought to light. So take care how you hear; for anyone who has will be given more; from anyone who has not, even what he thinks he has will be taken away.’

Cyrus king of Persia frees the Jews to return to Jerusalem

In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to fulfil the word of the Lord that was spoken through Jeremiah, the Lord roused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia to issue a proclamation and to have it publicly displayed throughout his kingdom: ‘Thus speaks Cyrus king of Persia, “The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; he has ordered me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem, in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all his people, may his God be with him! Let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah to build the Temple of the Lord, the God of Israel – he is the God who is in Jerusalem. And let each survivor, wherever he lives, be helped by the people of that place with silver and gold, with goods and cattle, as well as voluntary offerings for the Temple of God which is in Jerusalem.”’

  Then the heads of families of Judah and of Benjamin, the priests and the Levites, in fact all whose spirit had been roused by God, prepared to go and rebuild the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem; and all their neighbours gave them every assistance with silver, gold, goods, cattle, quantities of costly gifts and with voluntary offerings of every kind.
