நான் சொல்பவற்றைச் செய்யாது, என்னை `ஆண்டவரே, ஆண்டவரே' என ஏன் கூப்பிடுகிறீர்கள்?

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடர்களை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: “கெட்ட கனி தரும் நல்ல மரமுமில்லை; நல்ல கனி தரும் கெட்ட மரமுமில்லை. ஒவ்வொரு மரமும் அதனதன் கனியாலே அறியப்படும். ஏனென்றால் முட்செடிகளில் அத்திப் பழங்களைப் பறிப்பாருமில்லை; முட்புதர்களில் திராட்சைக் குலைகளை அறுத்துச் சேர்ப்பாருமில்லை. நல்லவர் தம் உள்ளமாகிய நல்ல கருவூலத்திலிருந்து நல்லவற்றை எடுத்துக் கொடுப்பர். தீயவரோ தீயதினின்று தீயவற்றை எடுத்துக் கொடுப்பர். உள்ளத்தின் நிறைவையே வாய் பேசும்.

நான் சொல்பவற்றைச் செய்யாது என்னை, ‘ஆண்டவரே, ஆண்டவரே’ என ஏன் கூப்பிடுகிறீர்கள்? என்னிடம் வந்து, என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, அவற்றின்படி செயல்படும் எவரும் யாருக்கு ஒப்பாவார் என உங்களுக்கு எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறேன்.

அவர் ஆழமாய்த் தோண்டி, பாறையின்மீது அடித்தளம் அமைத்து, வீடு கட்டிய ஒருவருக்கு ஒப்பாவார். வெள்ளம் ஆறாகப் பெருக்கெடுத்து அந்த வீட்டின்மேல் மோதியும் அதை அசைக்க முடியவில்லை; ஏனென்றால் அது நன்றாகக் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்தது.

நான் சொல்வதைக் கேட்டும் அதன்படி செயல்படாதவரோ, அடித்தளம் இல்லாமல் மண்மீது வீடு கட்டியவருக்கு ஒப்பாவார். ஆறு பெருக்கெடுத்து அதன்மேல் மோதிய உடனே அது விழுந்தது; அவ்வீட்டுக்குப் பேரழிவு ஏற்பட்டது.”

அன்பிற்குரியவர்களே,

‘பாவிகளை மீட்க கிறிஸ்து இயேசு இவ்வுலகிற்கு வந்தார்'. - இக்கூற்று உண்மையானது; எல்லாராலும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளத் தக்கது. - அந்தப் பாவிகளுள் முதன்மையான பாவி நான். ஆயினும் கடவுள் எனக்கு இரங்கினார். நிலைவாழ்வை அடைய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ள இருப்போருக்கு நான் முன்மாதிரியாய் விளங்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக முதன்முதலில் என்னிடம் தம் முழுப் பொறுமையைக் காட்டினார்.

அழிவில்லாத, கண்ணுக்குப் புலப்படாத, எக்காலத்துக்கும் அரசராய் இருக்கின்ற ஒரே கடவுளுக்கு என்றென்றும் மாண்பும் மாட்சியும் உரித்தாகுக! ஆமென்.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Luke 6:43-49 

Jesus said to his disciples:

  ‘There is no sound tree that produces rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree that produces sound fruit. For every tree can be told by its own fruit: people do not pick figs from thorns, nor gather grapes from brambles. A good man draws what is good from the store of goodness in his heart; a bad man draws what is bad from the store of badness. For a man’s words flow out of what fills his heart.

  ‘Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord” and not do what I say?

  ‘Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and acts on them – I will show you what he is like. He is like the man who when he built his house dug, and dug deep, and laid the foundations on rock; when the river was in flood it bore down on that house but could not shake it, it was so well built. But the one who listens and does nothing is like the man who built his house on soil, with no foundations: as soon as the river bore down on it, it collapsed; and what a ruin that house became!’.

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

A Reading from the First Letter of St.Paul to Timothy 1:15-17 

Here is a saying that you can rely on and nobody should doubt: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. I myself am the greatest of them; and if mercy has been shown to me, it is because Jesus Christ meant to make me the greatest evidence of his inexhaustible patience for all the other people who would later have to trust in him to come to eternal life. To the eternal King, the undying, invisible and only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
