அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு கூட்டத்தினரை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து அனுப்பிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். அப்பொழுது சீடரையும் உடனே படகேறித் தமக்கு முன் அக்கரைக்குச் செல்லுமாறு அவர் கட்டாயப்படுத்தினார். மக்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டு, அவர் தனியே இறைவனிடம் வேண்டுவதற்காக ஒரு மலையின் மேல் ஏறினார். பொழுது சாய்ந்த பிறகும் அங்கே அவர் தனியே இருந்தார். அதற்குள் படகு கரையிலிருந்து நெடுந்தொலை சென்றுவிட்டது. மேலும் எதிர்க்காற்று அடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்ததால் அலைகளால் படகு அலைக்கழிக்கப்பட்டது.

இரவின் நான்காம் காவல் வேளையில் இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கிக் கடல்மீது நடந்து வந்தார். அவர் கடல்மீது நடப்பதைக் கண்ட சீடர் கலங்கி, “ஐயோ, பேய்” என அச்சத்தினால் அலறினர். உடனே இயேசு அவர்களிடம் பேசினார். “துணிவோடிருங்கள்; நான்தான், அஞ்சாதீர்கள்” என்றார்.

பேதுரு அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “ஆண்டவரே, நீர்தாம் என்றால் நானும் கடல்மீது நடந்து உம்மிடம் வர ஆணையிடும்” என்றார். அவர், “வா” என்றார். பேதுருவும் படகிலிருந்து இறங்கி இயேசுவை நோக்கிக் கடல்மீது நடந்து சென்றார். அப்பொழுது பெருங்காற்று வீசியதைக் கண்டு அஞ்சி அவர் மூழ்கும்போது, “ஆண்டவரே, என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்” என்று கத்தினார். இயேசு உடனே தம் கையை நீட்டி அவரைப் பிடித்து, “நம்பிக்கை குன்றியவனே, ஏன் ஐயம் கொண்டாய்?” என்றார்.

அவர்கள் படகில் ஏறியதும் காற்று அடங்கியது. படகில் இருந்தோர் இயேசுவைப் பணிந்து, “உண்மையாகவே நீர் இறைமகன்” என்றனர்.

அவர்கள் மறு கரைக்குச் சென்று கெனசரேத்துப் பகுதியை அடைந்தார்கள். இயேசுவை யாரென்று அறிந்துணர்ந்த அவ்விடத்து மக்கள் சுற்றுப்புறமெங்கும் ஆள் அனுப்பி எல்லா நோயாளர்களையும் அவரிடம் கொண்டு வந்தனர். அவரது மேலுடையின் ஓரத்தையாவது அவர்கள் தொட அனுமதிக்குமாறு அவரை வேண்டினர்; தொட்டவர் யாவரும் நலமடைந்தனர்.

ஆண்டவரின் அருள்வாக்கு.

அந்நாள்களில்

மோசே எத்தியோப்பியப் பெண்ணை மணந்திருந்தார்; அவர் மணந்திருந்த எத்தியோப்பியப் பெண்ணை முன்னிட்டு மிரியாமும் ஆரோனும் அவருக்கு எதிராகப் பேசினர். அவர்கள், “ஆண்டவர் உண்மையில் மோசே வழியாக மட்டுமா பேசியுள்ளார்? அவர் எங்கள் வழியாகவும் பேசவில்லையா?” என்றனர். ஆண்டவர் இதனைக் கேட்டார். பூவுலகின் அனைத்து மாந்தரிலும் மோசே சாந்தமிகு மானிடராய்த் திகழ்ந்தார். உடனே ஆண்டவர் மோசே, ஆரோன், மிரியாம் ஆகியோரிடம், “நீங்கள் மூவரும் சந்திப்புக் கூடாரத்தருகே வாருங்கள்” என்றார்.

அவர்கள் மூவரும் வந்தனர். மேகத் தூண் ஒன்றில் ஆண்டவர் இறங்கி வந்து கூடார வாயிலருகே நின்று, ஆரோனையும் மிரியாமையும் அழைத்தார்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் முன் வந்தனர். அவர் கூறியது: “என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளுங்கள்; உங்களுக்குள் இறைவாக்கினன் ஒருவன் இருந்தால் ஆண்டவராகிய நான் ஒரு காட்சியின் வழியாக அவனுக்கு என்னை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன். கனவில் அவனோடு பேசுவேன்.

ஆனால் என் அடியான் மோசேயோடு அப்படியல்ல; என் வீடு முழுவதிலும் அவனே நம்பிக்கைக்குரியவன்; நான் அவனோடு பேசுவது மறைபொருளாக அல்ல, நேர்முகமாகவும் தெளிவாகவும் இருக்கும். ஆண்டவர் உருவையும் அவன் காண்கிறான். பின்னர் ஏன் என் அடியான் மோசேக்கு எதிராகப் பேச நீங்கள் அஞ்சவில்லை?” மேலும் ஆண்டவரின் சினம் அவர்கள்மேல் மூண்டது; அவர் அகன்று சென்றார்.

கூடாரத்தின் மேலிருந்து மேகம் அகன்றதும் மிரியாமை பனி போன்ற வெண்மையான தொழுநோய் பீடித்தது. ஆரோன் மிரியாம் பக்கம் திரும்பவே அவள் தொழுநோயாளியாய் இருக்கக் கண்டார். ஆரோன் மோசேயிடம், “என் தலைவரே! அறிவீனமாக நாங்கள் செய்த பாவத்தை எங்கள்மேல் சுமத்த வேண்டாம்; தாயின் வயிற்றிலிருந்து செத்துப் பிறந்த அரைகுறைக் குழந்தை போன்று இவள் ஆகாதிருக்கட்டும்” என்றார். மோசே ஆண்டவரிடம் முறையிட்டு, “கடவுளே, இவளைக் குணமாக்க வேண்டுகிறேன்” என்றார்.

Jesus had fed the crowd in the wilderness.

    He immediately forced the disciples to get into the boat

and precede him to the other bank,

while he dismissed the crowds.

    When he had sent them away,

    The boat was already a good distance from land,

it was being beaten by the waves,

for the wind was against it. 

    Towards the end of the night, Jesus came to them

walking on the sea.

    Seeing him walking on the sea,

the disciples were shocked.

“He's a ghost. "

Frightened, they began to scream.

    But immediately Jesus spoke to them:

“Trust! It's me ; fear no longer! "

    Peter then spoke:

" Lord, if it is really you,

Peter got out of the boat

and walked on the water toward Jesus.

    But, seeing the force of the wind, he was afraid

FIRST READING 

“Why did you dare to criticize my servant Moses? I speak to him face to face ” 

Reading the Book of Numbers 12, 1-13 

In those days,

    because Moses had married an Ethiopian woman,

his sister Miriam and his brother Aaron began to criticize him.

    They said,

“Does the Lord speak only through Moses?

Does he not also speak through us? "

The Lord heard.

    - Now, Moses was very humble,

the most humble man that the earth has borne.

    Suddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam:

“You three come out to go to the Tent of Meeting. "

They went out all three.

    The Lord descended in the pillar of cloud

and stopped at the entrance of the Tent.

He called Aaron and Miriam;

they both came forward, and he said to them:

    “Listen carefully to my words:

When there is a prophet of the Lord among you,

I make myself known to him in a vision,

I speak to him in a dream.

    It is not thus with my servant Moses,

he who, in all my house, is worthy of confidence:

    it is by mouth that I speak to him,

in a clear vision and not in enigmas;

what he is looking at is the very form of the Lord.

Why did you dare to criticize my servant Moses? "

    The anger of the Lord was kindled against them,

and then he went.

    The cloud departed from the tent,

and behold, Miriam was covered with a leprosy

white as snow.

Aaron turned to her, and here she was with a leper.

    He then said to Moses:

"I beg you, my lord,

do not bring down upon us this sin

which we have had the folly to commit.

    May Miriam not be like the stillborn child

whose flesh is half eaten away

when it comes out of its mother's womb! "

    Moses cried to the Lord:

" God, I beg you, heal her! "
