அக்காலத்தில்

மத்தேயு என்பவர் சுங்கச்சாவடியில் அமர்ந்திருந்ததை இயேசு கண்டார்; அவரிடம், “என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வா” என்றார். அவரும் எழுந்து இயேசுவைப் பின்பற்றிச் சென்றார். பின்பு அவருடைய வீட்டில் பந்தியில் அமர்ந்திருந்த போது வரிதண்டுபவர்கள், பாவிகள் ஆகிய பலர் வந்து இயேசுவோடும் அவருடைய சீடரோடும் விருந்துண்டனர்.

இதைக் கண்ட பரிசேயர் அவருடைய சீடரிடம், “உங்கள் போதகர் வரி தண்டுபவர்களோடும் பாவிகளோடும் சேர்ந்து உண்பது ஏன்?” என்று கேட்டனர். இயேசு இதைக் கேட்டவுடன், “நோயற்றவர்க்கு அல்ல, நோயுற்றவர்க்கே மருத்துவர் தேவை. ‘பலியை அல்ல, இரக்கத்தையே விரும்புகிறேன்’ என்பதன் கருத்தை நீங்கள் போய்க் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; ஏனெனில் நேர்மையாளரை அல்ல, பாவிகளையே அழைக்க வந்தேன்” என்றார்.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

ஆண்டவர் பொருட்டுக் கைதியாக இருக்கும் நான் உங்களைக் கெஞ்சிக் கேட்கிறேன்; நீங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட அழைப்புக்கு ஏற்ப வாழுங்கள். முழு மனத்தாழ்மையோடும் கனிவோடும் பொறுமையோடும் ஒருவரையொருவர் அன்புடன் தாங்கி, அமைதியுடன் இணைந்து வாழ்ந்து, தூய ஆவி அருளும் ஒருமைப்பாட்டைக் காத்துக்கொள்ள முழு முயற்சி செய்யுங்கள்.

Matthew 20:1-16

Theme:

“Business with God...?”

1. “Deposit Policy” / Dealing Spirituality!

Many times, we deal with God like a businessman in our daily life:

"I prayed the 9-day novena, Lord, please give me that job."

"I offered so many Masses, please don't let any trouble come in my family."

These are some of the deposit / dealing spiritualities we have. Early in the morning, the workers went to the owner and spoke to him, "One denarium" and went to work. We too live a transactional life with God, "I give this, you give me that."

But, God is not a businessman; He is our Father. Spirituality is not a 'deal of give and take'; it is a 'bond of love'.

 "Don't be like the early workers; learn to live with God not as a trader, but as a loving child."

2. Comparison / ‘Overtime’ Mindset!

In the corporate world and in our daily work life, we see a big problem: comparison.

Even if our salary is fair, when someone who works less than us gets a special privilege or a bonus from the boss, or a promotion, we get angry immediately. "I have worked for four years, and he just came yesterday? Promotion too?"

In the vineyard, the same thing happened. Those who came early received their agreed wage fully. The jealousy of the others, who looked at what the others got, ruined their joy. In daily life, your blessings are blocked when you compare yourself with others.

 Stop comparing: Don't compare your family, children, finances with others and murmur against God. Let go of comparison and rejoice in what you have.

3. ‘Credit’ Expectation-Free Service!

When we do any good deed in our home or outside, if we expect "recognition", "appreciation" and praise, we are still in the mindset of the early workers — 'transactional' thinking.

The latecomers went with only the owner's goodwill. They did not put any conditions. The good deeds we do without any self-interest or expectation make us the first in the eyes of God.

Practical Challenge Today:

 * Stop Comparison:

   Do not compare your family, children, finances with others and murmur against God.

 * Help Without Expectation:

   Even if you do not get an immediate return, trust that God will give you what is right.

 * Give Thanks:

   Realise that "I am not worthy; I live by the grace of God" and thank Him every day.

இயேசு தம் சீடருக்குக் கூறிய உவமை: “விண்ணரசைப் பின்வரும் நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு ஒப்பிடலாம்: நிலக்கிழார் ஒருவர் தம் வேலையாள்களை வேலைக்கு அமர்த்த விடியற்காலையில் வெளியே சென்றார். அவர் நாளொன்றுக்கு ஒரு தெனாரியம் கூலி என வேலையாள்களுடன் ஒத்துக்கொண்டு அவர்களைத் தம் திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்துக்கு அனுப்பினார். ஏறக்குறைய காலை ஒன்பது மணிக்கு அவர் வெளியே சென்றபொழுது சந்தை வெளியில் வேறு சிலர் வேலையின்றி நிற்பதைக் கண்டார். அவர்களிடம், ‘நீங்களும் என் திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்துக்குப் போங்கள்; நேர்மையான கூலியை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்’ என்றார். அவர்களும் சென்றார்கள். மீண்டும் ஏறக்குறைய பன்னிரண்டு மணிக்கும் பிற்பகல் மூன்று மணிக்கும் வெளியே சென்று அப்படியே செய்தார்.

ஏறக்குறைய ஐந்து மணிக்கும் வெளியே சென்று வேறு சிலர் நிற்பதைக் கண்டார். அவர்களிடம், ‘நாள் முழுவதும் வேலை செய்யாமல் ஏன் இங்கே நின்றுகொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்?’ என்று கேட்டார். அவர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து, ‘எங்களை எவரும் வேலைக்கு அமர்த்தவில்லை’ என்றார்கள்.

அவர் அவர்களிடம், ‘நீங்களும் என் திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்துக்குப் போங்கள்’ என்றார். மாலையானதும் திராட்சைத் தோட்ட உரிமையாளர் தம் மேற்பார்வையாளரிடம், ‘வேலையாள்களை அழைத்துக் கடைசியில் வந்தவர் தொடங்கி முதலில் வந்தவர் வரை அவர்களுக்குரிய கூலி கொடும்’ என்றார். எனவே ஐந்து மணியளவில் வந்தவர்கள் ஒரு தெனாரியம் வீதம் பெற்றுக் கொண்டனர். அப்போது முதலில் வந்தவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு மிகுதியாகக் கிடைக்கும் என்று எண்ணினார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்களும் ஒரு தெனாரியம் வீதம்தான் பெற்றார்கள்.

அவர்கள் அதைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட போது அந்நிலக்கிழாருக்கு எதிராக முணுமுணுத்து, ‘கடைசியில் வந்த இவர்கள் ஒரு மணி நேரமே வேலை செய்தார்கள். பகல் முழுவதும் வேலைப் பளுவையும் கடும் வெயிலையும் தாங்கிய எங்களோடு இவர்களையும் இணையாக்கி விட்டீரே’ என்றார்கள். அவரோ அவர்களுள் ஒருவரைப் பார்த்து, ‘தோழரே, நான் உமக்கு அநியாயம் செய்யவில்லை. நீர் என்னிடம் ஒரு தெனாரியம் கூலிக்கு ஒத்துக் கொள்ளவில்லையா? உமக்குரியதைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு போய்விடும். உமக்குக் கொடுத்தபடியே கடைசியில் வந்த இவருக்கும் கொடுப்பது என் விருப்பம். எனக்குரியதை நான் என் விருப்பப்படி கொடுக்கக் கூடாதா? அல்லது நான் நல்லவனாய் இருப்பதால் உமக்குப் பொறாமையா?’ என்றார்.

இவ்வாறு கடைசியானோர் முதன்மையாவர். முதன்மையானோர் கடைசியாவர்” என்று இயேசு கூறினார்.

ஆண்டவரின் அருள்வாக்கு.

இரண்டாம் வாசகம் நான் வாழ்ந்தால் அது கிறிஸ்துவுக்காகவே. திருத்தூதர் பவுல் பிலிப்பியருக்கு எழுதிய திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 1: 20c-24, 27a சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

நான் வாழ்ந்தால் அது கிறிஸ்துவுக்காகவே.

வாழ்விலும் சாவிலும் முழுத் துணிவுடன் கிறிஸ்துவை என் உடலால் பெருமைப்படுத்துவேன். இதுவே என் பேராவல், இதுவே என் எதிர் நோக்கு. ஏனெனில் நான் வாழ்ந்தால் அது கிறிஸ்துவுக்காகவே; நான் இறந்தால் அது எனக்கு ஆதாயமே. எனினும் நான் தொடர்ந்து வாழ்ந்தால் பயனுள்ள பணி செய்ய முடியும். எனவே நான் எதைத் தேர்ந்து கொள்வதென எனக்குத் தெரியவில்லை.

இந்த இரண்டுக்கும் இடையே ஓர் இழுபறி நிலையில் உள்ளேன். உயிர் நீத்துக் கிறிஸ்துவோடு இருக்கவேண்டும் என்னும் ஆவல் ஒரு புறம். - இதுவே மிகச் சிறந்தது. - ஆனால், இன்னும் வாழவேண்டும் என்பது மற்றொரு புறம். - இது உங்கள் பொருட்டு மிகத் தேவையாய் இருக்கின்றது.

ஒன்றை மட்டும் மறந்து விடாதீர்கள்: கிறிஸ்துவின் நற்செய்திக்கு ஏற்றவாறு நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.

At that time: When a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to Jesus, he said in a parable, “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, he said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand’. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

A Reading from the first letter of St.Paul to the Corinthians 15: 35–37, 42–49

Brethren: Someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?” You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare seed, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

அக்காலத்தில்

பெரும் திரளான மக்கள் எல்லா ஊர்களிலிருந்தும் இயேசுவிடம் கூடி வந்தபோது அவர் உவமை வாயிலாகக் கூறியது: “விதைப்பவர் ஒருவர் விதைக்கச் சென்றார். அவர் விதைத்தபோது சில விதைகள் வழியோரம் விழுந்து மிதிபட்டன; வானத்துப் பறவைகள் வந்து அவற்றை விழுங்கி விட்டன. வேறு சில விதைகள் பாறைமீது விழுந்தன; அவை முளைத்தபின் ஈரமில்லாததால் கருகிப் போயின. மற்றும் சில விதைகள் முட்செடிகளின் நடுவே விழுந்தன; கூடவே வளர்ந்த முட்செடிகள் அவற்றை நெருக்கி விட்டன. இன்னும் சில விதைகளோ நல்ல நிலத்தில் விழுந்தன. அவை வளர்ந்து நூறு மடங்கு விளைச்சலைக் கொடுத்தன.” இவ்வாறு சொன்னபின், “கேட்கச் செவியுள்ளோர் கேட்கட்டும்” என்று உரக்கக் கூறினார்.

இந்த உவமையின் பொருள் என்ன என்று அவருடைய சீடர் அவரிடம் கேட்டனர். அதற்கு இயேசு கூறியது: “இறையாட்சியின் மறைபொருளை அறிய உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து வைத்திருக்கிறது. மற்றவர்களுக்கு எல்லாம் உவமைகள் வாயிலாகவே கூறப்படுகின்றன. எனவே ‘அவர்கள் கண்டும் காண்பதில்லை; கேட்டும் புரிந்து கொள்வதில்லை.’

முதல் வாசகம்

அழிவுக்குரியதாய் விதைக்கப்படுவது அழியாததாய் உயிர் பெற்று எழுகிறது.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய முதல் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 15: 35-37, 42-49

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

“இறந்தோர் எப்படி உயிருடன் எழுப்பப்படுவார்கள்? எத்தகைய உடலோடு வருவார்கள்?” என ஒருவர் கேட்கலாம். அறிவிலியே, நீ விதைக்கும் விதை மடிந்தாலொழிய உயிர் பெறாது. முளைத்த பயிராக நீ அதை விதைக்கவில்லை; மாறாக வெறும் கோதுமை மணியையோ மற்றெந்த விதையையோதான் விதைக்கிறாய்.

இறந்தோர் உயிர்த்தெழும்போதும் இவ்வாறே இருக்கும். அழிவுக்குரியதாய் விதைக்கப்படுவது அழியாததாய் உயிர் பெற்று எழுகிறது. மதிப்பற்றதாய் விதைக்கப்படுவது மாண்புக்குரியதாய் உயிர் பெற்று எழுகிறது. வலுவற்றதாய் விதைக்கப்படுவது வல்லமையுள்ளதாய் உயிர் பெற்று எழுகிறது. மனித இயல்பு கொண்ட உடலாய் விதைக்கப்படுவது ஆவிக்குரிய உடலாய் உயிர் பெற்று எழுகிறது. மனித இயல்பு கொண்ட உடல் உண்டு என்றால், ஆவிக்குரிய உடலும் உண்டு. மறைநூலில் எழுதியுள்ளபடி, முதல் மனிதராகிய ஆதாம் உயிர் பெற்று மனித இயல்புள்ளவர் ஆனார்; கடைசி ஆதாமோ உயிர் தரும் தூய ஆவியானார்.

தூய ஆவிக்குரியது முந்தியது அல்ல; மனித இயல்புக்குரியதே முந்தியது. தூய ஆவிக்குரியது பிந்தியது. முதல் மனிதர் களிமண்ணால் ஆனவர்; அவர் மண்ணிலிருந்து வந்தவர். இரண்டாம் மனிதரோ விண்ணிலிருந்து வந்தவர். மண்ணைச் சார்ந்த மனிதர் போலவே மண்ணைச் சார்ந்த யாவரும் இருப்பர். விண்ணைச் சார்ந்த மனிதர் போலவே விண்ணைச் சார்ந்த யாவரும் இருப்பர்.

எனவே நாம் மண்ணைச் சார்ந்தவரின் சாயலைக் கொண்டிருப்பது போல விண்ணைச் சார்ந்தவரின் சாயலையும் கொண்டிருப்போம்.
