நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: ஆணையிடவே வேண்டாம்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு கூறியது: “ ‘பொய்யாணை இடாதீர். ஆணையிட்டு நேர்ந்து கொண்டதை ஆண்டவருக்குச் செலுத்துவீர்’ என்று முற்காலத்தவர்க்குக் கூறப்பட்டிருப்பதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: ஆணையிடவே வேண்டாம். விண்ணுலகின் மேலும் ஆணையிட வேண்டாம்; ஏனென்றால் அது கடவுளின் அரியணை. மண்ணுலகின் மேலும் வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் அது அவரின் கால்மணை. எருசலேம் மேலும் வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் அது பேரரசரின் நகரம்.

உங்கள் தலைமுடியின் மேலும் ஆணையிட வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் உங்கள் தலைமுடி ஒன்றையேனும் வெள்ளையாக்கவோ கறுப்பாக்கவோ உங்களால் இயலாது. ஆகவே நீங்கள் பேசும் போது ‘ஆம்’ என்றால் ‘ஆம்’ எனவும் ‘இல்லை’ என்றால் ‘இல்லை’ எனவும் சொல்லுங்கள். இதைவிட மிகுதியாகச் சொல்வது எதுவும் தீயோனிடத்திலிருந்து வருகிறது.”

என் உயிரே! ஆண்டவரைப் போற்றிடு! என் முழு உளமே! அவரது திருப்பெயரை ஏத்திடு!

அவர் தமக்கு அஞ்சுவோர்க்குக் காட்டும் பேரன்பு மண்ணினின்று விண்ணளவு போன்று உயர்ந்தது.

மேற்கினின்று கிழக்கு எத்துணைத் தொலைவில் உள்ளதோ; அத்துணைத் தொலைவிற்கு நம் குற்றங்களை நம்மிடமிருந்து அவர் அகற்றுகின்றார். - பல்லவி

பாவம் அறியாத கிறிஸ்துவைப் பாவநிலை ஏற்கச் செய்தார்.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய இரண்டாம் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 5: 14-21

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

கிறிஸ்துவின் பேரன்பே எங்களை ஆட்கொள்கிறது. ஏனெனில் ஒருவர் அனைவருக்காகவும் இறந்தார். அனைவரும் அவரோடு இறந்தனர். இது நமக்குத் தெரியும். வாழ்வோர் இனி தங்களுக்கென வாழாமல் தங்களுக்காக இறந்து உயிர்பெற்றெழுந்தவருக்காக வாழ வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகவே அவர் அனைவருக்காகவும் இறந்தார்.

ஆகவே இனிமேல் நாங்கள் எவரையும் மனித முறைப்படி மதிப்பிடுவது இல்லை; முன்பு நாங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவையும் மனித முறைப்படிதான் மதிப்பிட்டோம். ஆனால் இப்போது அவ்வாறு செய்வதில்லை. எனவே ஒருவர் கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைந்திருக்கும்போது அவர் புதிதாகப் படைக்கப் பட்டவராய் இருக்கிறார். பழையன கழிந்து புதியன புகுந்தன அன்றோ!

இவை யாவும் கடவுளின் செயலே. அவரே கிறிஸ்துவின் வாயிலாக நம்மைத் தம்மோடு ஒப்புரவாக்கினார்; ஒப்புரவாக்கும் திருப்பணியையும் நமக்குத் தந்துள்ளார். உலகினரின் குற்றங்களைப் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் கடவுள் கிறிஸ்துவின் வாயிலாக அவர்களைத் தம்மோடு ஒப்புரவாக்கினார். அந்த ஒப்புரவுச் செய்தியை எங்களிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார். எனவே நாங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் தூதுவர்களாய் இருக்கிறோம். கடவுளே எங்கள் வாயிலாக வேண்டுகோள் விடுக்கிறார். ஆகவே கடவுளோடு ஒப்புரவாகுங்கள் என்று கிறிஸ்துவின் சார்பில் நாங்கள் மன்றாடுகிறோம். நாம் கிறிஸ்து வழியாகத் தமக்கு ஏற்புடையவராகுமாறு கடவுள் பாவம் அறியாத அவரைப் பாவநிலை ஏற்கச் செய்தார்.

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You have learnt how it was said to our ancestors: You must not break your oath, but must fulfil your oaths to the Lord. But I say this to you: do not swear at all, either by heaven, since that is God’s throne; or by the earth, since that is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great king. Do not swear by your own head either, since you cannot turn a single hair white or black. All you need say is “Yes” if you mean yes, “No” if you mean no; anything more than this comes from the evil one.’

From now onwards we do not judge anyone by the standards of the flesh

A Reading from the Second Letter of St.Paul to the. Corinthians 5: 14-21 

The love of Christ overwhelms us when we reflect that if one man has died for all, then all men should be dead; and the reason he died for all was so that living men should live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised to life for them.

  From now onwards, therefore, we do not judge anyone by the standards of the flesh. Even if we did once know Christ in the flesh, that is not how we know him now. And for anyone who is in Christ, there is a new creation; the old creation has gone, and now the new one is here. It is all God’s work. It was God who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the work of handing on this reconciliation. In other words, God in Christ was reconciling the world to himself, not holding men’s faults against them, and he has entrusted to us the news that they are reconciled. So we are ambassadors for Christ; it is as though God were appealing through us, and the appeal that we make in Christ’s name is: be reconciled to God. For our sake God made the sinless one into sin, so that in him we might become the goodness of God.
