I will bless the Lord at all times,

A Reading from the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (11, 18.21b-30) 

Brothers, since so many others boast in the human way; well, I'll brag too. If some are daring - I speak in a fit of madness - I too have daring. Are they Hebrews? Me too. Are they Israelites? Me too. Are they descendants of Abraham? Me too. Are they ministers of Christ? Well - I am going to say madness - I am more so: in fatigue, much more; in prisons, much more; under the blows, much more; in danger of death, very often. Five times I received the thirty-nine lashes from the Jews; three times, I suffered the caning; once I was stoned; three times, I was shipwrecked and I was lost twenty-four hours in the open sea. Often on foot on the roads, with the dangers of rivers, the dangers of bandits, the dangers from my brethren, the dangers from the Gentiles, the dangers of the city, the dangers of the wilderness, the dangers of the sea, the dangers of false brothers. I have known fatigue and pain, often lack of sleep, hunger and thirst, often lack of food, cold and lack of clothes, not to mention everything else: my daily concern, the concern of all the churches. Who then falters, without my sharing his weakness? Who comes to fall without it burning me? நீங்கள் இவ்வாறு இறைவனிடம் வேண்டுங்கள்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடரை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: நீங்கள் இறைவனிடம் வேண்டும்பொழுது பிற இனத்தவரைப்போலப் பிதற்ற வேண்டாம்; மிகுதியான சொற்களை அடுக்கிக் கொண்டே போவதால் தங்கள் வேண்டுதல் கேட்கப்படும் என அவர்கள் நினைக்கிறார்கள். நீங்கள் அவர்களைப் போல் இருக்க வேண்டாம். ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் கேட்கும் முன்னரே உங்கள் தேவையை உங்கள் தந்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.

ஆகவே, நீங்கள் இவ்வாறு இறைவனிடம் வேண்டுங்கள். “விண்ணுலகில் இருக்கிற எங்கள் தந்தையே, உமது பெயர் தூயதெனப் போற்றப்பெறுக! உமது ஆட்சி வருக! உமது திருவுளம் விண்ணுலகில் நிறைவேறுவது போல மண்ணுலகிலும் நிறைவேறுக! இன்று தேவையான உணவை எங்களுக்குத் தாரும். எங்களுக்கு எதிராகக் குற்றம் செய்தோரை நாங்கள் மன்னித்துள்ளது போல எங்கள் குற்றங்களை மன்னியும். எங்களைச் சோதனைக்கு உட்படுத்தாதேயும், தீயோனிடமிருந்து எங்களை விடுவியும்.

மற்ற மனிதர் செய்யும் குற்றங்களை நீங்கள் மன்னிப்பீர்களானால் உங்கள் விண்ணகத் தந்தையும் உங்களை மன்னிப்பார். மற்ற மனிதரை நீங்கள் மன்னிக்காவிடில் உங்கள் தந்தையும் உங்கள் குற்றங்களை மன்னிக்க மாட்டார்.”

ஊதியம் எதிர்பார்க்காமல் நான் உங்களுக்கு நற்செய்தி அறிவித்தேன்.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய இரண்டாம் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 11: 1-11.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

என் அறிவீனத்தை நீங்கள் சற்றுப் பொறுத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்; ஆம் சற்றே பொறுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். உங்கள்மீது கடவுள் கொண்டுள்ள அதே அன்பார்வத்தை நானும் கொண்டுள்ளேன். கிறிஸ்து என்னும் ஒரே மணமகனுக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் இடையே மண ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துள்ளேன். அவர்முன் உங்களைக் கற்புள்ள கன்னியாக நிறுத்த வேண்டும் என்பதே என் விருப்பம். ஆனால் ஏவா பாம்பின் சூழ்ச்சியினால் ஏமாற்றப்பட்டதைப் போல நீங்களும் உங்கள் எண்ணங்களைச் சீரழியவிட்டுக் கிறிஸ்துவிடம் விளங்கிய நேர்மையையும் தூய்மையையும் இழந்து விடுவீர்களோ என அஞ்சுகிறேன்.

உங்களிடம் யாராவது வந்து, நாங்கள் அறிவித்த இயேசுவைத் தவிர வேறு ஓர் இயேசுவைப்பற்றி அறிவித்தால், அல்லது நீங்கள் பெற்ற தூய ஆவியைத் தவிர வேறு ஓர் ஆவியைப் பற்றிப் பேசினால், அல்லது நீங்கள் ஏற்ற நற்செய்தியைத் தவிர வேறு ஒரு நற்செய்தியைக் கொண்டுவந்தால் நீங்கள் அவர்களை எளிதாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறீர்கள். இப்படிப்பட்ட ‘மாபெரும்’ திருத்தூதரை விட நான் எதிலும் குறைந்தவன் அல்லேன் என்றே கருதுகிறேன். நான் நாவன்மையற்று இருக்கலாம்; ஆனால் அறிவு அற்றவன் அல்ல; இதை எப்போதும் எல்லா வகையிலும் உங்களுக்குத் தெளிவு படுத்தியே இருக்கிறோம்.

ஊதியம் எதுவும் எதிர்பார்க்காமல் நான் உங்களுக்கு நற்செய்தி அறிவித்தேன். நீங்கள் உயர்வு பெற நான் தாழ்வுற்றேன். இதுதான் நான் செய்த பாவமா? நான் உங்களிடையே பணிபுரிந்தபோது என் செலவுக்கு வேண்டியதை மற்றத் திருச்சபைகளிடமிருந்து பெற்றுக் கொண்டேன். உங்களுக்காக அவர்களைக் கொள்ளையிட்டேன் என்றே சொல்லலாம். நான் உங்களோடு இருந்த போது எனக்குப் பற்றாக்குறை இல்லாமல் இல்லை. எனினும் நான் உங்களில் எவருக்கும் சுமையாய் இருந்ததில்லை. மாசிதோனியாவிலிருந்து வந்த அன்பர்கள் என் பற்றாக்குறையைப் போக்கினார்கள். நான் எதிலும் உங்களுக்குச் சுமையாய் இருந்ததில்லை; இனி இருக்கவும் மாட்டேன்.

கிறிஸ்துவின் உண்மையே என்னுள்ளும் இருப்பதால் நான் பெருமைப்படுவதை அக்காயா பகுதியிலுள்ள யாரும் தடுக்க முடியாது. ஏன் இப்படிச் சொல்கிறேன்? உங்களிடம் எனக்கு அன்பே இல்லை என்பதாலா? நான் உங்கள்மீது அன்பு கொண்டவன் என்பது கடவுளுக்குத் தெரியும்.

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Matthew (6, 7-15) 

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “When you pray, do not repeat like the pagans: they imagine that by dint of words they will be heard. So do not imitate them, for your Father knows what you need, even before you ask for it. You therefore pray thus: Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we ourselves forgive our debtors. And do not let us enter into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For if you forgive men for their sins, your heavenly Father will forgive you too. But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your faults. "

A Reading from the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (11, 1-11) 

Brothers, could you take a little madness from me? Yes, from me, you will endure it, because of my jealous love which is the very love of God for you. For I have united you to the one Bridegroom: you are the pure virgin whom I presented to Christ. But I am afraid that, following the example of Eve seduced by the cunning of the serpent, your understanding of things will be corrupted by losing the simplicity and purity that it is necessary to have with regard to Christ. Indeed, if the first comer announces to you another Jesus, a Jesus whom we have not announced, if you receive a different spirit from the one you have received, or a different Gospel from the one you have received, you support it. very good ! I consider myself to be in no way inferior to all these super-apostles. I may not be much for speeches, but for the knowledge of God, it is different: we have shown it to you on all occasions and in all ways. Would I have made a mistake when, lowering myself to lift you up, I proclaimed the Gospel of God to you for free? I have impoverished other Churches by receiving from them the necessary money to put myself at your service.
