They have sown the wind; they will reap the whirlwind.

A Reading from the Book of. Hosea 8: 4-7,11-13

Thus says the Lord:

They have set up kings, but not with my consent,

and appointed princes, but without my knowledge.

Out of their own silver and gold they have made idols,

which are doomed to destruction.

I spurn your calf, Samaria,

my anger blazes against it.

(How long will it be before they purge themselves of this,

the sons of Israel?)

A workman made the thing,

this cannot be God!

Yes, the calf of Samaria shall go up in flames.

They sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind;

their wheat will yield no ear,

the ear will yield no flour,

or, if it does, foreigners will swallow it.

Ephraim has built altar after altar,

they have only served him as occasion for sin.

Were I to write out the thousand precepts of my Law for him,

they would be paid no more attention than those of a stranger.

They love sacrificing; right, let them sacrifice!

They love meat; right, let them eat it!

The Lord takes no pleasure in these.

He is now going to remember their iniquity

and punish their sins;

they will have to go back to Egypt.

ஜூலை 8 : நற்செய்தி வாசகம்

என் மகள் இப்பொழுதுதான் இறந்தாள். ஆயினும் நீர் வந்து அவள் மீது உம் கையை வையும். அவள் உடனே உயிர் பெறுவாள்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடர்களுடன் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தபொழுது, தொழுகைக் கூடத் தலைவர் ஒருவர் அவரிடம் வந்து பணிந்து, “என் மகள் இப்பொழுதுதான் இறந்தாள். ஆயினும் நீர் வந்து அவள் மீது உம் கையை வையும். அவள் உடனே உயிர் பெறுவாள்” என்றார். இயேசு எழுந்து அவர் பின்னே சென்றார். இயேசுவின் சீடர்களும் அவரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தனர்.

அப்பொழுது பன்னிரு ஆண்டுகளாய் இரத்தப் போக்கினால் வருந்திய ஒரு பெண் அவருக்குப் பின்னால் வந்து அவரது மேலுடையின் ஓரத்தைத் தொட்டார். ஏனெனில் அப்பெண், “நான் அவருடைய ஆடையைத் தொட்டாலே போதும், நலம் பெறுவேன்” எனத் தமக்குள் சொல்லிக் கொண்டார். இயேசு அவரைத் திரும்பிப் பார்த்து, “மகளே, துணிவோடிரு; உனது நம்பிக்கை உன்னைக் குணமாக்கிற்று” என்றார். அந்நேரத்திலிருந்தே அப்பெண் நலம் அடைந்திருந்தார்.

இயேசு அத்தலைவருடைய வீட்டிற்குச் சென்றார். அங்கே குழல் ஊதுவோரையும் கூட்டத்தினரின் அமளியையும் கண்டார். அவர், “விலகிப் போங்கள்; சிறுமி இறக்கவில்லை, உறங்குகிறாள்” என்றார். அவர்களோ அவரைப் பார்த்து நகைத்தார்கள். அக்கூட்டத்தினரை வெளியேற்றிய பின் அவர் உள்ளே சென்று சிறுமியின் கையைப் பிடித்தார். அவளும் உயிர் பெற்று எழுந்தாள். இச்செய்தி அந்நாடெங்கும் பரவியது.

ஆண்டவரின் அருள்வாக்கு.

நாள்தோறும் உம்மைப் போற்றுவேன்; உமது பெயரை என்றும் எப்பொழுதும் புகழ்வேன்.

ஆண்டவர் மாண்புமிக்கவர்; பெரிதும் போற்றுதலுக்கு உரியவர்; அவரது மாண்பு நம் அறிவுக்கு எட்டாதது. - பல்லவி

ஒரு தலைமுறை அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு உம் செயல்களைப் புகழ்ந்துரைக்கும்; வல்லமைமிகு உம் செயல்களை எடுத்துரைக்கும்.

அல்லேலூயா, அல்லேலூயா! நம் மீட்பராகிய கிறிஸ்து இயேசு சாவை அழித்து, அழியா வாழ்வை நற்செய்தியின் வழியாக ஒளிரச் செய்தார். அல்லேலூயா.

முடிவில்லாக் காலத்திற்கும் உன்னோடு நான் மணஒப்பந்தம் செய்துகொள்வேன்.

இறைவாக்கினர் ஓசேயா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 2: 14-16, 19-20

ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது:

“நான் இஸ்ரயேலை நயமாகக் கவர்ந்திழுப்பேன்; பாலைநிலத்துக்கு அவளைக் கூட்டிப்போவேன்; நெஞ்சுருக அவளுடன் பேசுவேன். அவளுடைய திராட்சைத் தோட்டங்களை அவளுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பேன்; ஆக்கோர் பள்ளத்தாக்கை நம்பிக்கையின் வாயிலாக மாற்றுவேன்; அப்போது அவள் அங்கே தன் இளமையின் நாள்களிலும், எகிப்து நாட்டினின்று வெளியேறிய காலத்திலும் பாடியது போல் பாடுவாள்.

அந்நாளில், ‘என் கணவன்’ என என்னை அவள் அழைப்பாள்; ‘என் பாகாலே’ என இனிமேல் என்னிடம் சொல்லமாட்டாள்” என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர்.

“இஸ்ரயேல்! முடிவில்லாக் காலத்திற்கும் உன்னோடு நான் மண ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துகொள்வேன்; நேர்மையிலும் நீதியிலும் பேரன்பிலும் உன்னோடு மணஒப்பந்தம் செய்துகொள்வேன். மாறாத அன்புடன் உன்னோடு மண ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துகொள்வேன்; ஆண்டவராம் என்னை நீயும் அறிந்து கொள்வாய்.”

'Your faith has restored you to health'

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Matthew 9: 18-26

While Jesus was speaking, up came one of the officials, who bowed low in front of him and said, ‘My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and her life will be saved.’ Jesus rose and, with his disciples, followed him. Then from behind him came a woman, who had suffered from a haemorrhage for twelve years, and she touched the fringe of his cloak, for she said to herself, ‘If I can only touch his cloak I shall be well again.’ Jesus turned round and saw her; and he said to her, ‘Courage, my daughter, your faith has restored you to health.’ And from that moment the woman was well again.

When Jesus reached the official’s house and saw the flute-players, with the crowd making a commotion he said, ‘Get out of here; the little girl is not dead, she is asleep.’ And they laughed at him. But when the people had been turned out he went inside and took the little girl by the hand; and she stood up. And the news spread all round the countryside.
