_The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin._

*A Reading from the book of First John 1:5--2:2*

This is what we have heard from him and are declaring to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

If we say that we share in God's life while we are living in darkness, we are lying, because we are not living the truth.

But if we live in light, as he is in light, we have a share in another's life, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

If we say, 'We have no sin,' we are deceiving ourselves, and truth has no place in us;

if we acknowledge our sins, he is trustworthy and upright, so that he will forgive our sins and will cleanse us from all evil.

If we say, 'We have never sinned,' we make him a liar, and his word has no place in us.

My children, I am writing this to prevent you from sinning; but if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the upright.

He is the sacrifice to expiate our sins, and not only ours, but also those of the whole world.

ஞானிகள் திரும்பிச் சென்றபின் ஆண்டவருடைய தூதர் யோசேப்புக்குக் கனவில் தோன்றி, ``நீர் எழுந்து குழந்தையையும் அதன் தாயையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு எகிப்துக்குத் தப்பி ஓடிச் செல்லும். நான் உமக்குச் சொல்லும் வரை அங்கேயே இரும். ஏனெனில் குழந்தையை ஏரோது கொல்வதற்காகத் தேடப்போகிறான்'' என்றார். யோசேப்பு எழுந்து, குழந்தையையும் அதன் தாயையும் கூட்டிக் கொண்டு, இரவிலேயே எகிப்துக்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார்; ஏரோது இறக்கும் வரை அங்கேயே இருந்தார். இவ்வாறு, ``எகிப்திலிருந்து என் மகனை அழைத்து வந்தேன்'' என்று இறைவாக்கினர் வாயிலாக ஆண்டவர் உரைத்தது நிறைவேறியது. ஞானிகள் தன்னை ஏமாற்றியதை ஏரோது கண்டு மிகுந்த சீற்றம் கொண்டான். அவன் அவர்களிடம் கருத்தாய்க் கேட்டறிந்ததற்கு ஏற்பக் காலத்தைக் கணக்கிட்டுப் பெத்லகேமிலும் அதன் சுற்றுப்புறமெங்கும் ஆள்களை அனுப்பி இரண்டு வயதும் அதற்கு உட்பட்டவையுமான எல்லா ஆண் குழந்தைகளையும் கொன்றான். அப்பொழுது ``ராமாவிலே ஒரு குரல் கேட்கிறது; ஒரே புலம்பலும் பேரழுகையுமாய் இருக்கிறது; இராகேல் தம் குழந்தைகளுக்காக அழுது கொண்டிருக்கிறார்; ஆறுதல் பெற அவர் மறுக்கிறார்; ஏனெனில் அவர் குழந்தைகள் அவரோடு இல்லை'' என்று இறைவாக்கினர் எரேமியா உரைத்தது நிறைவேறியது.

2 ஆண்டவர் நம் சார்பாக இருந்திராவிடில், நமக்கு எதிராக மனிதர் எழுந்தபோது,

3 அவர்களது சினம் நம்மேல் மூண்டபோது, அவர்கள் நம்மை உயிரோடு விழுங்கியிருப்பார்கள். -பல்லவி 

4 அப்பொழுது, வெள்ளம் நம்மை மூழ்கடித்திருக்கும்;

பெருவெள்ளம் நம்மீது புரண்டோடியிருக்கும்;

5 கொந்தளிக்கும் வெள்ளம் நம்மீது பாய்ந்தோடியிருக்கும். -பல்லவி 

7b கண்ணி அறுந்தது; நாம் தப்பிப் பிழைத்தோம்.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, நாங்கள் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடமிருந்து கேட்டறிந்து உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கும் செய்தி இதுவே: கடவுள் ஒளியாய் இருக்கிறார்; அவரிடம் இருள் என்பதே இல்லை. நாம் இருளில் நடந்து கொண்டு, அவருடன் நமக்கு நட்புறவு உண்டு என்போமென்றால் நாம் பொய்யராவோம்; உண்மைக்கேற்ப வாழாதவர் ஆவோம். மாறாக, அவர் ஒளியில் இருப்பதுபோல் நாம் ஒளியில் நடப்போமானால், ஒருவரோடு ஒருவர் நட்புறவு கொண்டிருப்போம். மேலும் அவர் மகனாகிய இயேசுவின் இரத்தம் எல்லாப் பாவத்தினின்றும் நம்மைத் தூய்மைப்படுத்தும். ஆனால் பாவம் நம்மிடம் இல்லை என்போமென்றால் நம்மையே நாம் ஏமாற்றிக் கொள்வோம்; உண்மையும் நம்மிடம் இராது. மாறாக நம் பாவங்களை நாம் ஒப்புக்கொள்வோம் என்றால் கடவுள் நம் பாவங்களை மன்னித்து, குற்றம் அனைத்திலிருந்தும் நம்மைத் தூய்மைப்படுத்துவார். ஏனெனில் அவர் நம்பிக்கைக்குரியவர், நேர்மையுள்ளவர். நாம் பாவம் செய்யவில்லை என்போமென்றால் அவரைப் பொய்யர் ஆக்குவோம். அவருடைய வார்த்தை நம்மிடம் இல்லை என்றாகும். என் பிள்ளைகளே, நீங்கள் பாவம் செய்யாதிருக்க வேண்டும் என இதை நான் உங்களுக்கு எழுதுகிறேன்; ஆயினும் ஒருவர் பாவம் செய்ய நேர்ந்தால் தந்தையிடம் பரிந்து பேசுபவர் ஒருவர் நமக்கு இருக்கிறார். அவரே மாசற்ற இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. நம் பாவங்களுக்குக் கழுவாய் அவரே; நம் பாவங்களுக்கு மட்டும் அல்ல, அனைத்துலகின் பாவங்களுக்கும் கழுவாய் அவரே.

When the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, the 

parents of Jesus brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. (as 

it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every male who first opens the womb 

shall be called holy to the Lord”) and to offer a sacrifice according to what is 

said in the Law of the Lord, “a pair of turtle-doves, or two young pigeons”. 

Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man 

was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy 

Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that 

he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came in 

the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, 

to do for him according to the custom of the Law, he took him up in his arms 

and blessed God and said, “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in 

peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you 

have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the 

Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.” And his father and his mother 

marvelled at what was said about him. And Simeon blessed them and said to 

Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce 

through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be 

revealed.” And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the 

tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband 

seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was 

eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshipping with fasting 

and prayer night and day. And coming up at that very hour she began to give 

thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption 

of Jerusalem. And when they had performed everything according to the Law 

of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. And 

the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favour of God 

was upon him.

*A reading from Hebrews 11: 8, 11-12, 17-19*

When Abraham was called, he obeyed and went to the rightful place by faith. He left without knowing where he was going. 

Although Abraham was old and Sarah was infertile, it was by faith that he gained the energy to become a father. Because he considered the voter to be trustworthy. Thus, from this lifeless man, innumerable people were born, like the stars in the sky and the innumerable sands on the shore. 

It was out of faith that Abraham dared to sacrifice Isaac when he was tempted. Despite his promise, "Through Isaac, your lineage will be known," he came before sacrificing his only-begotten Son. Because he knew that God could raise the dead from the dead. So, he got his so

2.Sing to him; Praise Him! Mention all their dramatic deeds!  

3.Exalt his name; May the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice! 

4.Seek the Lord and His power! Seek His Baptism unceasingly!  

5.Remember the dramatic things he did! Remember his deeds, and the judgments of his mouth. 

6.His servants are the descendants of Abraham! Children of Jacob whom he chose!  

8.He will remember their covenant forever; He remembers the promise he made to a thousand generations. 

9.He remembers the covenant he made with Abraham and the one he swore to Isaac. -
