A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To John (16, 23b-28) 

At that time, Jesus was saying to his disciples: “Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give you. So far you have not asked for anything in my name; ask, and you will receive: thus your joy will be perfect.

In saying this, I spoke to you in pictures. The hour is coming when I will speak to you without images, and will tell you openly what concerns the Father. That day you will ask in my name; however, I am not telling you that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you loved me and you believed that it was from God that I came out. I came out of the Father, and I came into the world; now I am leaving the world and going to the Father. "

The leaders of the peoples have gathered together:

they are the people of the God of Abraham.

The princes of the earth belong to God

FIRST READING 

"Apollos demonstrated by the Scriptures that Christ is Jesus" 

A Reading from the book of Acts of the Apostles (18, 23-28) 

After spending some time in Antioch, Paul left. He successively traveled through the Galatian country and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples. Now, a Jew named Apollos, originally from Alexandria, had just arrived in Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, versed in the Scriptures. He had been instructed in the Path of the Lord; in the fervor of the Spirit, he spoke and taught with precision what concerns Jesus, but, as baptism, he knew only that of John the Baptist. So he began to speak confidently in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him with greater precision the Path of God. As Apollos wanted to go to Greece, the brothers encouraged him there, and wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he rendered great service to those who had become believers by the grace of God. Indeed, with vigor he publicly refuted the Jews, demonstrating by the Scriptures that Christ is Jesus.

நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேர்ந்து கொள்ளவில்லை; 

நான்தான் உங்களைத் தேர்ந்துகொண்டேன். 

✠ யோவான் எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 15: 9-17 

அக்காலத்தில் 

இயேசு தம் சீடரை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: “என் தந்தை என்மீது அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளது போல நானும் உங்கள்மீது அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளேன். என் அன்பில் நிலைத்திருங்கள். நான் என் தந்தையின் கட்டளைகளைக் கடைப்பிடித்து அவரது அன்பில் நிலைத்திருப்பது போல நீங்களும் என் கட்டளைகளைக் கடைப்பிடித்தால் என் அன்பில் நிலைத்திருப்பீர்கள். என் மகிழ்ச்சி உங்களுள் இருக்கவும் உங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சி நிறைவு பெறவுமே இவற்றை உங்களிடம் சொன்னேன். 

நான் உங்களிடம் அன்பு கொண்டிருப்பது போல நீங்களும் ஒருவர் மற்றவரிடம் அன்புகொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே என் கட்டளை. தம் நண்பர்களுக்காக உயிரைக் கொடுப்பதை விடச் சிறந்த அன்பு யாரிடமும் இல்லை. நான் கட்டளை இடுவதையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் செய்தால் நீங்கள் என் நண்பர்களாய் இருப்பீர்கள். 

இனி நான் உங்களைப் பணியாளர் என்று சொல்ல மாட்டேன். ஏனெனில் தம் தலைவர் செய்வது இன்னது என்று பணியாளருக்குத் தெரியாது. உங்களை நான் நண்பர்கள் என்றேன்; ஏனெனில் என் தந்தையிடமிருந்து நான் கேட்டவை அனைத்தையும் உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தேன். 

நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேர்ந்து கொள்ளவில்லை; நான்தான் உங்களைத் தேர்ந்துகொண்டேன். நீங்கள் கனி தரவும், நீங்கள் தரும் கனி நிலைத்திருக்கவும் உங்களை ஏற்படுத்தினேன். ஆகவே நீங்கள் என் பெயரால் தந்தையிடம் கேட்பதையெல்லாம் அவர் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பார். 

நீங்கள் ஒருவர் மற்றவரிடம் அன்புகொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதே என் கட்டளை.”

1.ஆண்டவரின் ஊழியர்களே, அவரைப் புகழுங்கள். அவரது பெயரைப் போற்றுங்கள். 

2.ஆண்டவரது பெயர் வாழ்த்தப் பெறுவதாக! இப்பொழுதும் எப்பொழுதும் வாழ்த்தப் பெறுவதாக! - பல்லவி 

3.கீழ்த்திசை முதல் மேற்றிசைவரை ஆண்டவரது பெயர் போற்றப்படுவதாக!

அல்லேலூயா, அல்லேலூயா! நான்தான் உங்களைத் தேர்ந்து கொண்டேன். நீங்கள் கனி தரவும், நீங்கள் தரும் கனி நிலைத்திருக்கவும் உங்களை ஏற்படுத்தினேன், என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர். அல்லேலூயா.

முதல் வாசகம் 

சீட்டு மத்தியா பெயருக்கு விழவே அவர் பதினொரு திருத்தூதர்களோடும் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டார். 

திருத்தூதர் பணிகள் நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 1: 15-17, 20-26 

ஒரு நாள், ஏறக்குறைய நூற்றிருபது சகோதரர் சகோதரிகள் ஒரே இடத்தில் கூடியிருக்கும்போது பேதுரு அவர்கள் நடுவே எழுந்து நின்று கூறியது: “அன்பர்களே, இயேசுவைக் கைது செய்தவர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டிய யூதாசைக் குறித்துத் தூய ஆவியார் தாவீதின் வாயிலாக முன்னுரைத்த மறைநூல் வாக்கு நிறைவேறவேண்டியிருந்தது. அவன் நம்மில் ஒருவனாய் எண்ணப்பட்டு நாம் ஆற்றும் பணியில் பங்கு பெற்றிருந்தான். 

திருப்பாடல்கள் நூலில், ‘அவன் வீடு பாழாவதாக! அதில் எவரும் குடிபுகாதிருப்பாராக!’ என்றும் ‘அவனது பதவியை வேறொருவர் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளட்டும்!’ என்றும் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

ஆகையால் ஆண்டவர் இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதலுக்குச் சாட்சியாய் விளங்க, அவர் நம்மிடையே செயல்பட்ட காலத்தில் நம்மோடு இருந்த ஒருவரைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ள நாம் கூடிவரவேண்டியது தேவையாயிற்று. யோவான் திருமுழுக்குக் கொடுத்துவந்த காலமுதல் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு நம்மிடமிருந்து விண்ணேற்றமடைந்த நாள்வரை அவர் நம்மோடு இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும்.” 

அத்தகையோருள் இருவரை முன்னிறுத்தினார்கள். ஒருவர் யோசேப்பு என்னும் பெயர் கொண்ட பர்சபா. இவருக்கு யுஸ்து என்னும் பெயரும் உண்டு. மற்றவர் மத்தியா. 

பின்பு அவர்கள் அனைவரும், “ஆண்டவரே, அனைவரின் உள்ளங்களையும் அறிபவரே, யூதாசு திருத்தொண்டையும் திருத்தூதுப் பணியையும் விட்டகன்று தனக்குரிய இடத்தை அடைந்துவிட்டான். அந்த யூதாசுக்குப் பதிலாக யாரைத் தெரிந்தெடுக்க வேண்டும் என இந்த இருவருள் ஒருவரை எங்களுக்குக் காண்பியும்” என்று இறைவனிடம் வேண்டிக்கொண்டனர். 

அதன்பின் அவர்கள் சீட்டுக் குலுக்கினார்கள். சீட்டு மத்தியா பெயருக்கு விழவே அவர் பதினொரு திருத்தூதர்களோடும் சேர்த்துக் கொள்ளப்பட்டார்.
