மனிதரின் உள்ளத்திலிருந்து வருவதே அவரைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்

✠ மாற்கு எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 7: 14-23

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு மக்கள் கூட்டத்தை மீண்டும் தம்மிடம் வரவழைத்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி, “நான் சொல்வதை அனைவரும் கேட்டுப் புரிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். வெளியேயிருந்து மனிதருக்குள்ளே சென்று அவர்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தக் கூடியது ஒன்றுமில்லை. மனிதருக்கு உள்ளேயிருந்து வெளியே வருபவையே அவர்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும். கேட்கச் செவியுள்ளோர் கேட்கட்டும்” என்று கூறினார்.

அவர் மக்கள் கூட்டத்தை விட்டு வீட்டிற்குள் வந்தபோது அவருடைய சீடர் அவரிடம் இந்த உவமையைப் பற்றிக் கேட்க, அவர் அவர்களிடம், “நீங்களுமா இந்த அளவுக்குப் புரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்? வெளியேயிருந்து மனிதருக்குள்ளே செல்லும் எதுவும் அவர்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்த முடியாது என உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா? ஏனென்றால், அது அவர்களுடைய உள்ளத்தில் நுழையாமல் வயிற்றுக்குச் சென்று கழிப்பிடத்திற்குப் போய்விடுகிறது” என்றார். இவ்வாறு அவர் எல்லா உணவுப் பொருள்களும் தூயன என்று குறிப்பிட்டார்.

மேலும், “மனிதருக்கு உள்ளேயிருந்து வருவதே அவர்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும். ஏனெனில் மனித உள்ளத்திலிருந்தே பரத்தைமை, களவு, கொலை, விபசாரம், பேராசை, தீச்செயல், வஞ்சகம், காமவெறி, பொறாமை, பழிப்புரை, செருக்கு, மதிகேடு ஆகியவற்றைச் செய்யத் தூண்டும் தீய எண்ணங்கள் வெளிவருகின்றன. தீயனவாகிய இவை அனைத்தும் உள்ளத்திலிருந்து வந்து மனிதரைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்துகின்றன” என்றார்.

அந்நாள்களில்

ஆண்டவரின் பெயரை முன்னிட்டு, சாலமோன் அடைந்திருந்த புகழைப் பற்றிச் சேபா நாட்டு அரசி கேள்வியுற்றுக் கடினமான கேள்விகள் மூலம் அவரைச் சோதிக்க வந்தார். அவர் பரிவாரங்களோடும், நறுமணப் பொருள், மிகுதியான பொன், விலையுயர்ந்த கற்கள் ஆகியவற்றைச் சுமந்துவந்த ஒட்டகங்களோடும் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து சேர்ந்தார். அவர் சாலமோனிடம் தம் மனத்திலிருந்த கேள்விகள் அனைத்தையும் வெளிப்படுத்தினார். சாலமோன் அவருடைய கேள்விகளுக்கெல்லாம் விடை கூறினார். அவர் கேட்டவற்றுள் பதிலளிக்க இயலாதபடி எதுவும் அரசருக்குப் புதிராகத் தோன்றவில்லை.

சேபாவின் அரசி, சாலமோனுக்கு இருந்த பல்வகை ஞானம், அவர் கட்டியிருந்த அரண்மனை, அவர் உண்டு வந்த உணவு வகைகள், அவருடைய அலுவலரின் வரிசைகள், பணியாளர்களின் சுறுசுறுப்பு, அவர்களுடைய சீருடை, பானம் பரிமாறுவோரின் திறமை, ஆண்டவரின் இல்லத்தில் அவர் செலுத்திய எரிபலிகள் ஆகியவற்றைக் கண்டு பேச்சற்றுப் போனார். அவர் அரசரை நோக்கிக் கூறியது:

“உம்முடைய செயல்களையும் ஞானத்தையும் பற்றி என் நாட்டில் நான் கேள்விப்பட்டது உண்மையே எனத் தெரிகிறது. நான் இங்கு வந்து அவற்றை நேரில் காணும் வரை, அச்செய்திகளை நம்பவில்லை. இப்பொழுதோ, இங்குள்ளவற்றுள் பாதியைக் கூட அவர்கள் எனக்குச் சொல்லவில்லை என அறிகிறேன். உண்மையில் நான் கேள்விப்பட்டதை விட, உம் ஞானமும் செல்வமும் மிகுதியாய் இருக்கின்றன.

உம்முடைய மனைவியர் நற்பேறு பெற்றோர்! எப்போதும் உமக்குப் பணிபுரிந்து உம்முடைய ஞானம் நிறைந்த மொழிகளைக் கேட்கும் உம்முடைய பணியாளரும் நற்பேறு பெற்றவரே! உம்மீது பரிவு கொண்டு உம்மை இஸ்ரயேலின் அரியணையில் அமர்த்திய உம் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் போற்றி! போற்றி! ஆண்டவர் இஸ்ரயேலின் மீது என்றென்றும் அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளதால், அவர்களுக்கு நீதி நியாயம் வழங்க உம்மை அரசராக ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளார்.”

அவர் ஏறத்தாழ நாலாயிரத்து எண்ணூறு கிலோ பொன், ஏராளமான நறுமணப் பொருள்கள், விலையுயர்ந்த கற்கள் ஆகியவற்றை அரசருக்கு அளித்தார். சேபாவின் அரசியிடமிருந்து வந்தது போல, அத்துணை நறுமணப் பொருள்கள் அரசர் சாலமோனுக்கு அதன் பிறகு வந்ததே இல்லை.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Mark 7:14-23 

At that time: Jesus called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

A Reading from the first book of Kings 10:1-10.

In those days: When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions. She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels bearing spices, and very much gold and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind. And Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing hidden from the king that he could not explain to her. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food of his table, the seating of his officials, and the attendance of his servants, their clothing, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings that he offered at the house of the Lord, there was no more breath in her. And she said to the king, “The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom, but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report that I heard. Happy are your men! Happy are your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the Lord loved Israel for ever, he has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness.” Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a very great quantity of spices and precious stones. Never again came such an abundance of spices as these that the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
