அக்காலத்தில்

அதற்கு இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி, “சீசருக்கு உரியவற்றைச் சீசருக்கும் கடவுளுக்கு உரியவற்றைக் கடவுளுக்கும் கொடுங்கள்” என்றார். அவர்கள் அவரைக் குறித்து வியப்படைந்தார்கள்.

தோபித்து கூறியது:

அன்று இரவு குளித்துவிட்டு என் வீட்டு முற்றத்தின் சுவர் அருகில் படுத்து உறங்கினேன். வெப்பமாக இருந்ததால் என் முகத்தை மூடவில்லை. என் தலைக்குமேல் சுவரில் குருவிகள் இருந்தது எனக்குத் தெரியாது. அவற்றின் சூடான எச்சம் என் கண்களில் விழுந்தது. உடனே கண்களில் வெண் புள்ளிகள் தோன்றின. நலம் பெறுமாறு மருத்துவர்களிடம் சென்றேன். அவர்கள் எவ்வளவோ மருத்துவம் செய்தும் வெண் புள்ளிகளால் என் பார்வை குன்றிவந்தது. இறுதியாகப் பார்வையை முற்றும் இழந்தேன். நான் பார்வையற்றவனாக நான்கு ஆண்டுகள் வாழ்ந்தேன். என் உறவின் முறையார் அனைவரும் எனக்காக வருந்தினர். எலிமாய் செல்லும்வரை இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளாக அகிக்கார் என்னைப் பேணிவந்தான்.

அக்காலத்தில் என் மனைவி அன்னா பெண்களுக்குரிய கைவேலைகளில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்தாள். தன் கைவேலைப்பாடுகளை அவள் உரிமையாளர்களுக்கு அனுப்பிவைக்க, அவர்கள் அவளுக்குக் கூலி கொடுப்பார்கள். திசித்தர் மாதம் ஏழாம் நாள் தான் நெய்திருந்ததை உரிமையாளர்களுக்கு அவள் அனுப்பிவைத்தாள். அவர்கள் அவளுக்கு முழுக் கூலியுடன், விருந்து சமைக்க ஓர் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியையும் கொடுத்தார்கள். அவள் திரும்பி வந்தபொழுது ஆட்டுக்குட்டி கத்தத் தொடங்கியது. உடனே நான் அவளை அழைத்து, “இந்த ஆட்டுக்குட்டி எங்கிருந்து வந்தது?” என்று கேட்டேன். “ஒரு வேளை இது திருடப்பட்டதோ? அப்படியானால் உரியவரிடம் இதைத் திருப்பிக்கொடுத்துவிடு; ஏனெனில் திருடிய எதையும் உண்ண நமக்கு உரிமை இல்லை” என்றேன். அதற்கு அவள் என்னிடம், “கூலிக்கு மேலாக இது எனக்கு அன்பளிப்பாகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது” என்றாள். இருப்பினும் நான் அவளை நம்பவில்லை. உரியவருக்கு அதைத் திருப்பிக் கொடுத்துவிடுமாறு வற்புறுத்தினேன். அவளது செயலைக் குறித்து நான் நாணினேன். அப்பொழுது அவள் மறுமொழியாக என்னிடம், “உம்முடைய தருமங்கள் எங்கே? நற்செயல்கள் எங்கே? உம்முடைய குணம் இப்பொழுது நன்றாகவே புலப்படுகிறது!” என்றாள்.

That night, on the feast of Pentecost, after having buried a dead man, I, Tobith, took a bath, then I entered the courtyard of my house and I lay down against the courtyard wall, his face uncovered from the heat. I did not notice that there were sparrows in the wall above me, and their droppings fell hot in my eyes and caused leucomas. அக்காலத்தில்

மரியா புறப்பட்டு யூதேய மலை நாட்டிலுள்ள ஓர் ஊருக்கு விரைந்து சென்றார். அவர் செக்கரியாவின் வீட்டை அடைந்து எலிசபெத்தை வாழ்த்தினார்.

மரியாவின் வாழ்த்தை எலிசபெத்து கேட்டபொழுது அவர் வயிற்றில் இருந்த குழந்தை மகிழ்ச்சியால் துள்ளிற்று. எலிசபெத்து தூய ஆவியால் முற்றிலும் ஆட்கொள்ளப்பட்டார். அப்போது அவர் உரத்த குரலில்,

“பெண்களுக்குள் நீர் ஆசி பெற்றவர்; உம் வயிற்றில் வளரும் குழந்தையும் ஆசி பெற்றதே! என் ஆண்டவரின் தாய் என்னிடம் வர நான் யார்? உம் வாழ்த்துரை என் காதில் விழுந்ததும் என் வயிற்றினுள்ளே குழந்தை பேருவகையால் துள்ளிற்று. ஆண்டவர் உமக்குச் சொன்னவை நிறைவேறும் என்று நம்பிய நீர் பேறுபெற்றவர்” என்றார்.

அதைக் கேட்ட மரியா பின்வருமாறு கூறினார்:

“ஆண்டவரை எனது உள்ளம் போற்றிப் பெருமைப்படுத்துகின்றது. என் மீட்பராம் கடவுளை நினைத்து எனது மனம் பேருவகை கொள்கின்றது. ஏனெனில் அவர் தம் அடிமையின் தாழ்நிலையைக் கண்ணோக்கினார். இதுமுதல் எல்லாத் தலைமுறையினரும் என்னைப் பேறுபெற்றவர் என்பர். ஏனெனில் வல்லவராம் கடவுள் எனக்கு அரும்பெரும் செயல்கள் செய்துள்ளார். தூயவர் என்பதே அவரது பெயர். அவருக்கு அஞ்சி நடப்போருக்குத் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாய் அவர் இரக்கம் காட்டி வருகிறார்.

அவர் தம் தோள்வலிமையைக் காட்டியுள்ளார்; உள்ளத்தில் செருக்குடன் சிந்திப்போரைச் சிதறடித்து வருகிறார். வலியோரை அரியணையினின்று தூக்கி எறிந்துள்ளார்; தாழ்நிலையில் இருப்போரை உயர்த்துகிறார். பசித்தோரை நலன்களால் நிரப்பியுள்ளார்; செல்வரை வெறுங்கையராய் அனுப்பிவிடுகிறார். மூதாதையருக்கு உரைத்தபடியே அவர் ஆபிரகாமையும் அவர்தம் வழிமரபினரையும் என்றென்றும் இரக்கத்தோடு நினைவில் கொண்டுள்ளார்; தம் ஊழியராகிய இஸ்ரயேலுக்குத் துணையாக இருந்து வருகிறார்."

மரியா ஏறக்குறைய மூன்று மாதம் எலிசபெத்தோடு தங்கியிருந்த பின்பு தம் வீடு திரும்பினார்.

அக்காலத்தில்

பதினொரு சீடர்களும் இயேசு தங்களுக்குப் பணித்தபடியே கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள ஒரு மலைக்குச் சென்றார்கள். அங்கே அவரைக் கண்டு பணிந்தார்கள். சிலரோ ஐயமுற்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களை அணுகி, “விண்ணுலகிலும் மண்ணுலகிலும் அனைத்து அதிகாரமும் எனக்கு அருளப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. எனவே நீங்கள் போய் எல்லா மக்களினத்தாரையும் சீடராக்குங்கள்; தந்தை, மகன், தூய ஆவியார் பெயரால் திருமுழுக்குக் கொடுங்கள். நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட யாவையும் அவர்களும் கடைப்பிடிக்கும்படி கற்பியுங்கள். இதோ! உலக முடிவு வரை எந்நாளும் நான் உங்களுடன் இருக்கிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

கடவுளின் பிள்ளைகளுக்குரிய மனப்பான்மையையே பெற்றுக்கொண்டீர்கள்.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் உரோமையருக்கு எழுதிய திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 8: 14-17

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

கடவுளின் ஆவியால் இயக்கப்படுகிறவர்களே கடவுளின் மக்கள். மீண்டும் அச்சத்திற்கு உள்ளாக்கும் மனப்பான்மையை நீங்கள் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவில்லை; மாறாகக் கடவுளின் பிள்ளைகளுக்குரிய மனப்பான்மையையே பெற்றுக்கொண்டீர்கள். அதனால் நாம், “அப்பா, தந்தையே” என அழைக்கிறோம். நாம் இவ்வாறு அழைக்கும்போது நம் உள்ளத்தோடு சேர்ந்து தூய ஆவியாரும் நாம் கடவுளின் பிள்ளைகள் என்பதற்குச் சான்று பகர்கிறார். நாம் பிள்ளைகளாயின், உரிமைப் பேறு உடையவர்களாய் இருக்கிறோம். ஆம், நாம் கடவுளிடமிருந்து உரிமைப் பேறு பெறுபவர்கள், கிறிஸ்துவின் பங்காளிகள். அவருடைய துன்பங்களில் நாம் பங்கு பெற வேண்டும்; அப்போதுதான் அவரோடு மாட்சியிலும் பங்கு பெறுவோம்.

அக்காலத்தில்

மன்னராகிய ஆண்டவரே, உமக்கு நன்றி கூறுவேன்; உம்மைப் புகழ்வேன்; உம்முடைய பெயரைப் போற்றுவேன்.

எனக்கு ஞானம் புகட்டுகிறவர்களுக்கு நான் மாட்சி அளிப்பேன். ஞானத்தைக் கடைப்பிடிக்க முடிவு செய்தேன்; நன்மை மீது பேரார்வம் கொண்டேன்; நான் ஒருபோதும் வெட்கமுறேன்.

At that time, Jesus and his disciples returned to Jerusalem. And as Jesus came and went in the Temple, the high priests, scribes and elders came to find him. They would ask him, "By what authority do you do this?" Or who gave you this authority to do it? Jesus said to them, "I am going to ask you just one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do this: Did John's baptism come from heaven or from men? Answer me. A Reading from the book of Ben Sira the Wise (51, 12c-20) 

I want to give thanks and praise you, I will bless the name of the Lord. When I was still young and that I had not wandered here and there, in the eyes of all I sought Wisdom in my prayer. In front of the Temple, I prayed to receive her, and until the end I will seek her. From the flower to the maturity of the bunch, it has been the joy of my heart. My foot has stepped on the right path; since my youth, I have followed in his footsteps. It was enough for me to strain my ears a little to receive it, and I found great lessons in it. இயேசு எருசலேமுக்குள் சென்று கோவிலில் நுழைந்தார். அவர் அனைத்தையும் சுற்றிப் பார்த்துவிட்டு, ஏற்கெனவே மாலை வேளையாகி விட்டதால், பன்னிருவருடன் பெத்தானியாவுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார்.

மறுநாள் பெத்தானியாவை விட்டு அவர்கள் திரும்பியபொழுது இயேசுவுக்குப் பசி உண்டாயிற்று. இலையடர்ந்த ஓர் அத்தி மரத்தை அவர் தொலையிலிருந்து கண்டு, அதில் ஏதாவது கிடைக்குமா என்று அதன் அருகில் சென்றார். சென்றபோது இலைகளைத் தவிர வேறு எதையும் அவர் காணவில்லை. ஏனெனில் அது அத்திப் பழக்காலம் அல்ல. அவர் அதைப் பார்த்து, “இனி உன் கனியை யாரும் உண்ணவே கூடாது” என்றார். அவருடைய சீடர்கள் இதைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

அவர்கள் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தார்கள். கோவிலுக்குள் சென்றதும் இயேசு அங்கு விற்பவர்களையும் வாங்குபவர்களையும் வெளியே துரத்தத் தொடங்கினார்; நாணயம் மாற்றுவோரின் மேசைகளையும் புறா விற்பவர்களின் இருக்கைகளையும் கவிழ்த்துப்போட்டார். கோவில் வழியாக எந்தப் பொருளையும் எடுத்துச் செல்ல அவர் விடவில்லை. “ ‘என் இல்லம் மக்களினங்கள் அனைத்திற்கும் உரிய இறைவேண்டலின் வீடு என அழைக்கப்படும்’ என்று மறைநூலில் எழுதியுள்ளது” என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கற்பித்தார்; “ஆனால் நீங்கள் இதைக் கள்வர் குகையாக்கிவிட்டீர்கள்” என்றார்.

தலைமைக் குருக்களும் மறைநூல் அறிஞர்களும் இதைக் கேட்டு, அவரை எப்படி ஒழித்து விடலாம் என்று வழி தேடினார்கள். எனினும் கூட்டத்தினர் அனைவரும் அவரது போதனையில் ஆழ்ந்து வியந்திருந்ததால் அவர்கள் அவருக்கு அஞ்சினார்கள்.

மாலை வேளை ஆனதும் இயேசுவும் சீடர்களும் நகரத்திலிருந்து வெளியேறினார்கள். காலையில் அவர்கள் அவ்வழியே சென்றபோது அந்த அத்திமரம் வேரோடு பட்டுப்போயிருந்ததைக் கண்டார்கள். அப்போது பேதுரு நடந்ததை நினைவுகூர்ந்து அவரை நோக்கி, “ரபி, அதோ நீர் சபித்த அத்திமரம் பட்டுப்போயிற்று” என்றார்.

அதற்கு இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “கடவுள்மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள். உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: எவராவது இந்த மலையைப் பார்த்து, ‘பெயர்ந்து கடலில் விழு’ எனத் தம் உள்ளத்தில் ஐயம் எதுவுமின்றி நம்பிக்கையுடன் கூறினால், அவர் சொன்னவாறே நடக்கும். ஆகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: நீங்கள் இறைவனிடம் வேண்டும்போது எவற்றையெல்லாம் கேட்பீர்களோ அவற்றைப் பெற்றுவிட்டீர்கள் என நம்புங்கள்; நீங்கள் கேட்டபடியே நடக்கும். நீங்கள் வேண்டுதல் செய்ய நிற்கும்போது யார் மேலாவது நீங்கள் மனத்தாங்கல் கொண்டிருந்தால், மன்னித்துவிடுங்கள். அப்போது உங்கள் விண்ணகத் தந்தையும் உங்கள் குற்றங்களை மன்னிப்பார். நீங்கள் மன்னிக்காவிட்டால் உங்கள் விண்ணகத் தந்தையும் உங்கள் குற்றங்களை மன்னிக்க மாட்டார்” என்று கூறினார்.

prayer for all nations. Have faith in God ” 

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Mark (11, 11-25) 

After his arrival amidst the cheers of the crowd,

Jesus entered Jerusalem, into the Temple.

He looked over all things

and, as it was already evening,

he went out to go to Bethany with the Twelve.

The next day, when they left Bethany,

he was hungry.

Seeing a fig tree from afar which had leaves,

he went to see if he would find anything there;

but, on approaching, he found only leaves,

for it was not the season for figs.

Then he said to the fig tree:

"Let no one ever eat your fruit again!" "

And his disciples course. 

They arrived in Jerusalem.

Entering the Temple, Jesus began to expel

those who sold and those who bought in the Temple.

He knocked down the counters of the money changers

and the seats of the dove merchants,

and he would not let anyone carry anything

through the Temple.

He was teaching, and he

was telling the people: "Does not the Scripture say:

My house shall be called the

house of prayer for all the nations?"

But you, you have made a cave of bandits. "

Hearing this, the chief priests and the scribes

sought how do perish.

Indeed, they were afraid of him,

for the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

And when evening fell,

Jesus and his disciples went out of the city. 

The next morning, as

they passed, they saw the fig tree which was withered to the roots.

Peter, remembering what had happened,

said to Jesus:

“Rabbi, look:

the fig tree you cursed has withered away. "

Then Jesus, speaking, said to them:

" Have faith in God.

Amen, I say to you:

whoever will say to this mountain:

"Get away from there,

and go and throw yourself into the sea",

if he does not doubt in his heart,

but if he believes that what he says will happen,

it will be granted!

Therefore, I say to you:

whatever you ask for in prayer,

believe that you have obtained it,

and it will be granted to you.

And when you stand in prayer,

if you have something against someone,

forgive,

so that your Father who is in heaven

will also forgive you your faults. "

Our ancestors were men of mercy; and their name lives on for all generations  

A Reading from the book of Ben Sira the Wise (44, 1.9-13) 

Let us praise these glorious men

who are our ancestors.

There are others whose memory has been lost;

they are dead, and it is as if they had never existed,

it is as if they were never born,

and so are their children after them.

It is not so with men of mercy,

their works of righteousness have not been forgotten.

With their posterity will be maintained

the beautiful heritage that are their descendants.

Their posterity persevered in the laws of the Covenant,

their children remained faithful to them because of them.

Their descendants will always subsist,

their glory will never be erased.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசுவும் அவருடைய சீடரும் எரிகோவுக்கு வந்தனர். அவர்களும் திரளான மக்கள் கூட்டமும் எரிகோவை விட்டு வெளியே சென்றபோது, திமேயுவின் மகன் பர்த்திமேயு வழியோரம் அமர்ந்திருந்தார். பார்வையற்ற அவர் பிச்சை எடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார். நாசரேத்து இயேசுதாம் போகிறார் என்று அவர் கேள்விப்பட்டு, “இயேசுவே, தாவீதின் மகனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும்” என்று கத்தத் தொடங்கினார். பேசாதிருக்குமாறு பலர் அவரை அதட்டினர்; ஆனால் அவர், “தாவீதின் மகனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும்” என்று இன்னும் உரக்கக் கத்தினார்.

இயேசு நின்று, “அவரைக் கூப்பிடுங்கள்” என்று கூறினார். அவர்கள் பார்வையற்ற அவரைக் கூப்பிட்டு, “துணிவுடன் எழுந்து வாரும், இயேசு உம்மைக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்” என்றார்கள். அவரும் தம் மேலுடையை எறிந்துவிட்டு, குதித்தெழுந்து இயேசுவிடம் வந்தார். இயேசு அவரைப் பார்த்து, “உமக்கு நான் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என விரும்புகிறீர்?” என்று கேட்டார். பார்வையற்றவர் அவரிடம், “ரபூனி, நான் மீண்டும் பார்வை பெற வேண்டும்” என்றார்.

இயேசு அவரிடம், “நீர் போகலாம்; உமது நம்பிக்கை உம்மை நலமாக்கிற்று” என்றார். உடனே அவர் மீண்டும் பார்வை பெற்று, அவரைப் பின்பற்றி அவருடன் வழி நடந்தார்.

At that time,

as Jesus was leaving Jericho

with his disciples and a large crowd,

Timaeus's son, Bartimaeus, a blind man begging,

was sitting by the roadside.

When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth,

he cried out:

“Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me! "

Many people scolded him for silence them,

but he shouted all the more,

" Son of David, have mercy on me! "

Jesus stopped and said,

" Call him. "

So they called the blind, and one said,

" Trust, arise;

The blind man threw his cloak,

"The glory of the Lord shines in all his work" 

A Reading from the book of Ben Sira the Wise (42, 15-25) 

I will remember the works of the Lord.

What I saw, I will relate:

it was by his word that the Lord accomplished his works,

such was his decree by his blessing.

As the sun, in its brightness, looks at everything,

so the glory of the Lord shines in all his work.

It is impossible for the angels, the saints of the Lord,

to describe all the wonders

that the Sovereign Lord of the universe did steadfast in order

for the universe to be established in His glory.

The Lord searched the depths and the hearts,

he discerned their subtleties.

For the Most High has all knowledge,

he has observed the signs of the times,

making known the past and the future,

and revealing the traces of hidden things.

No thought escaped him,

not a word was hidden from him.

He has organized the masterpieces of his wisdom,

he who has always existed and forever;

nothing was added or taken from it:

it did not need any adviser.

How attractive all his works are, down

to the smallest spark you can see!

All this lives and remains forever,

fulfills its office and obeys it.

Everything goes in pairs, one corresponds to the other,

he has not done anything defective,

he has confirmed the excellence of one thing by the other;

Have mercy on us, Master and God of all; spread fear on all nations. Let them learn it, as we have learned: there is no god apart from you, Lord. Renew wonders, recommence wonders. Gather the tribes of Jacob; as in the early days, give them your inheritance. Have mercy on the people bearing your name, Israel who are your firstborn. Have compassion on your holy city, Jerusalem, the place of your rest. Fill Zion with your praise, and your sanctuary with your glory.
