A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Mark (10, 32-45) 

At that time the disciples were on their way up to Jerusalem; Jesus walked before them; they were terrified, and those who followed were also in awe. Taking the Twelve to him again, he began to tell them what was going to happen to him: “Here we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of man will be handed over to the high priests and to the scribes; they will condemn him to death, they will deliver him to the heathen nations, which will mock him, spit on him, scourge him and kill him, and after three days he will be resurrected. "

So James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approach Jesus and say to him: “Master, what we are going to ask of you, we would like you to do for us. He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?" They answered him: "Grant us to sit, one on your right and the other on your left, in your glory. "Jesus said to them," You do not know what you are asking.
