 ஜூன் 28 : நற்செய்தி வாசகம்

சிலுவையைச் சுமக்காமல் என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வருவோர் என்னுடையோர் அல்ல.

✠ மத்தேயு எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 10: 37-42

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடர்களை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: “என்னைவிடத் தம் தந்தையிடமோ தாயிடமோ மிகுந்த அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளோர் என்னுடையோர் எனக் கருதப்படத் தகுதியற்றோர். என்னைவிடத் தம் மகனிடமோ மகளிடமோ மிகுதியாய் அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளோரும் என்னுடையோர் எனக் கருதப்படத் தகுதியற்றோர். தம் சிலுவையைச் சுமக்காமல் என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வருவோர் என்னுடையோர் எனக் கருதப்படத் தகுதியற்றோர். தம் உயிரைக் காக்க விரும்புவோர் அதை இழந்து விடுவர். என் பொருட்டுத் தம் உயிரை இழப்போரோ அதைக் காத்துக் கொள்வர்.

“உங்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார். என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவரோ என்னை அனுப்பினவரையே ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார். இறைவாக்கினர் ஒருவரை அவர் இறைவாக்கினர் என்பதால் ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர் இறைவாக்கினருக்குரிய கைம்மாறு பெறுவார். நேர்மையாளர் ஒருவரை அவர் நேர்மையாளர் என்பதால் ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர் நேர்மையாளருக்குரிய கைம்மாறு பெறுவார்.

இச்சிறியோருள் ஒருவருக்கு அவர் என் சீடர் என்பதால் ஒரு கிண்ணம் குளிர்ந்த நீராவது கொடுப்பவரும் தம் கைம்மாறு பெறாமல் போகார் என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.”

கிறிஸ்துவோடு நாம் இறந்தோமாயின், அவரோடு வாழ்வோம் என்பதே நாம் கொண்டுள்ள நம்பிக்கை.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

திருமுழுக்கினால் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவோடு இணைந்திருக்கும் நாம் அனைவரும் அவருடைய சாவிலும் அவரோடு இணைந்திருக்கிறோம் என்பது உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா? இறந்த கிறிஸ்துவை மாட்சிமிகு தந்தை உயிர்த்தெழச் செய்தார். அவ்வாறு நாமும் புதுவாழ்வு பெற்றவர்களாய் வாழும்படி திருமுழுக்கின் வழியாய் அவரோடு அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டோம்.

கிறிஸ்துவோடு நாம் இறந்தோமாயின், அவரோடு வாழ்வோம் என்பதே நாம் கொண்டுள்ள நம்பிக்கை. இறந்து உயிருடன் எழுப்பப்பட்ட கிறிஸ்து இனிமேல் இறக்க மாட்டார்; இனி அவர் சாவின் ஆட்சிக்கு உட்பட்டவர் அல்ல என நாம் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம். அவர் இறந்தார்; பாவத்தை ஒழிக்க ஒரே ஒரு முறை இறந்தார். இப்போது அவர் வாழ்கிறார்; அவர் கடவுளுக்காகவே வாழ்கிறார்.

அவ்வாறே, நீங்களும் பாவ வாழ்க்கையைப் பொறுத்தமட்டில் இறந்தவர்கள்; கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவோடு இணைந்து கடவுளுக்காக வாழ்கிறவர்கள் என்பதை எண்ணிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

ஒரு நாள் எலிசா சூனேமுக்குச் சென்றார். அங்கேயிருந்த பணக்காரப் பெண் ஒருவர் அவரை உணவருந்தும்படி வற்புறுத்தினார். அதன்பின் அவர் அவ்வழியே சென்றபோதெல்லாம் அங்கே உணவருந்திவிட்டுச் செல்வார். அவர் தம் கணவனை நோக்கி, “நம்மிடம் அடிக்கடி வரும் ஆண்டவரின் அடியவர் புனிதர் என்று நான் கருதுகிறேன். ஆதலால் வீட்டு மேல் தளத்தில் சிறு அறை ஒன்றை அவருக்காகக் கட்டி, அதில் படுக்கை, மேசை, நாற்காலி, விளக்கு முதலியன தயார்படுத்தி வைப்போம். அவர் வரும்பொழுதெல்லாம் அங்கே தங்கிச் செல்லட்டும்” என்றார்.

ஒரு நாள் எலிசா அங்கு வந்து மாடி அறையில் தங்கி ஓய்வு எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். எலிசா, “வேறு எந்த விதத்தில் அவருக்கு உதவி செய்யலாம்?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்குக் கேகசி, “அவருக்குக் குறையேதும் இல்லை. ஆனால், அவருக்குப் பிள்ளை இல்லை. அவருடைய கணவருக்கும் வயதாகி விட்டது” என்றான். எலிசா, “அவளை இங்கு வரச் சொல்” என்றார். அவ்வாறே அவன் அவரை அழைக்க, அவரும் கதவருகில் வந்து நின்றார். எலிசா அவரை நோக்கி, “அடுத்த ஆண்டு இதே பருவத்தில் உனக்கு ஒரு மகன் பிறந்திருப்பான்” என்றார்.

At that time: Jesus said to his apostles, Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”

Brethren: Do you not know that all of us who have been baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

One day Elisha went on to Shunem, where a wealthy woman lived, who urged him to eat some food. So whenever he passed that way, he would turn in there to eat food. And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy man of God who is continually passing our way. Let us make a small room on the roof with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there.” One day he came there, and he turned into the chamber and rested there. And he said to Gehazi his servant, “What then is to be done for her?” Gehazi answered, “Well, she has no son, and her husband is old.” He said, “Call her.” And when he had called her, she stood in the doorway. And he said, “At this season, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.”
