மற்ற எல்லாரையும் விட இந்த ஏழைக் கைம்பெண் மிகுதியாகப் போட்டார்.

மாற்கு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 12: 38-44

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு கற்பித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது, “மறைநூல் அறிஞர்களைக் குறித்துக் கவனமாய் இருங்கள். அவர்கள் தொங்கல் ஆடை அணிந்து நடமாடுவதையும் சந்தை வெளிகளில் மக்கள் தங்களுக்கு வணக்கம் செலுத்துவதையும் விரும்புகிறார்கள். தொழுகைக்கூடங்களில் முதன்மையான இருக்கைகளையும் விருந்துகளில் முதன்மையான இடங்களையும் பெற விரும்புகிறார்கள்; கைம்பெண்களின் வீடுகளைப் பிடுங்கிக் கொள்கிறார்கள்; நீண்ட நேரம் இறைவனிடம் வேண்டுவதாக நடிக்கிறார்கள். கடுந்தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்புக்கு ஆளாக இருப்பவர்கள் இவர்களே” என்று கூறினார்.

இயேசு காணிக்கைப் பெட்டிக்கு எதிராக அமர்ந்துகொண்டு மக்கள் அதில் செப்புக் காசு போடுவதை உற்றுநோக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். செல்வர் பலர் அதில் மிகுதியாகப் போட்டனர். அங்கு வந்த ஓர் ஏழைக் கைம்பெண் ஒரு கொதிராந்துக்கு இணையான இரண்டு காசுகளைப் போட்டார். அப்பொழுது, அவர் தம் சீடரை வரவழைத்து, “இந்த ஏழைக் கைம்பெண், காணிக்கைப் பெட்டியில் காசு போட்ட மற்ற எல்லாரையும் விட மிகுதியாகப் போட்டிருக்கிறார் என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன். ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் அனைவரும் தங்களுக்கு இருந்த மிகுதியான செல்வத்திலிருந்து போட்டனர். இவரோ தமக்குப் பற்றாக்குறை இருந்தும் தம்மிடம் இருந்த அனைத்தையுமே, ஏன் தம் பிழைப்புக்காக வைத்திருந்த எல்லாவற்றையுமே போட்டுவிட்டார்” என்று அவர்களிடம் கூறினார்.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் திமொத்தேயுவுக்கு எழுதிய இரண்டாம் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 4: 1-8

அன்புக்குரியவரே, கடவுள் முன்னிலையிலும் வாழ்வோருக்கும் இறந்தோருக்கும் தீர்ப்பு அளிக்கப்போகிற கிறிஸ்து இயேசு முன்னிலையிலும் அவர் தோன்றப் போவதை முன்னிட்டும் அவரது ஆளுகையை முன்னிட்டும் நான் ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறுவது: இறைவார்த்தையை அறிவி. வாய்ப்புக் கிடைத்தாலும் கிடைக்கா விட்டாலும் இதைச் செய்வதில் நீ கருத்தாயிரு. கண்டித்துப் பேசு; கடிந்துகொள்; அறிவுரை கூறு; மிகுந்த பொறுமையோடு கற்றுக்கொடு.

ஒரு காலம் வரும். அப்போது மக்கள் நலந்தரும் போதனையைத் தாங்கமாட்டார்கள். மாறாக, செவித்தினவு கொண்டவர்களாய்த் தங்கள் தீய நாட்டங்களுக்கேற்பத் தங்களுக்கெனப் போதகர்களைத் திரட்டிக்கொள்வார்கள். உண்மைக்குச் செவிசாய்க்க மறுத்துப் புனைகதைகளை நாடிச் செல்வார்கள். நீயோ அனைத்திலும் அறிவுத் தெளிவோடிரு; துன்பத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்; நற்செய்தியாளனின் பணியை ஆற்று; உன் திருத்தொண்டை முழுமையாய்ச் செய். ஏனெனில், நான் இப்போதே என்னைப் பலியாகப் படைக்கிறேன். நான் பிரிந்து செல்ல வேண்டிய நேரம் வந்துவிட்டது. நான் நல்லதொரு போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டேன். என் ஓட்டத்தை முடித்துவிட்டேன். விசுவாசத்தைக் காத்துக் கொண்டேன். இனி எனக்கென வைக்கப்பட்டிருப்பது நேரிய வாழ்வுக்கான வெற்றி வாகையே. அதை இறுதி நாளில் ஆண்டவர் எனக்குத் தருவார்; நீதியான அந்த நடுவர் எனக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, அவர் தோன்றுவார் என விரும்பிக் காத்திருக்கும் அனைவருக்குமே தருவார்.

At that time: In his teaching Jesus said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the market-places and have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honour at feasts, who devour widows’ houses and for a pretence make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.” And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith; it is time for me to be gone.

A Reading from the Second Letter of St.Paul to Timothy 4:1-8

Beloved: I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
