இயேசு தம் சீடர் பன்னிருவரையும் தம்மிடம் வரவழைத்தார்.

அக்காலத்தில்

திரண்டிருந்த மக்களை இயேசு கண்டபோது அவர்கள் மேல் பரிவு கொண்டார்: அவர்கள் ஆயர் இல்லா ஆடுகளைப் போல அலைக்கழிக்கப்பட்டுச் சோர்ந்து காணப்பட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர் தம் சீடரை நோக்கி, “அறுவடை மிகுதி; வேலையாள்களோ குறைவு. ஆகையால் தேவையான வேலையாள்களைத் தமது அறுவடைக்கு அனுப்பும்படி அறுவடையின் உரிமையாளரிடம் மன்றாடுங்கள்” என்றார்.

இயேசு தம் சீடர் பன்னிருவரையும் தம்மிடம் வரவழைத்தார். தீய ஆவிகளை ஓட்டவும், நோய் நொடிகளைக் குணமாக்கவும் அவர்களுக்கு அதிகாரம் அளித்தார்.

அத்திருத்தூதர் பன்னிருவரின் பெயர்கள் பின்வருமாறு: முதலாவது பேதுரு என்னும் சீமோன், அடுத்து அவருடைய சகோதரர் அந்திரேயா, செபதேயுவின் மகன் யாக்கோபு, அவருடைய சகோதரர் யோவான், பிலிப்பு, பர்த்தலமேயு, தோமா, வரிதண்டினவராகிய மத்தேயு, அல்பேயுவின் மகன் யாக்கோபு, ததேயு, தீவிரவாதியாய் இருந்த சீமோன், இயேசுவைக் காட்டிக் கொடுத்த யூதாசு இஸ்காரியோத்து.

இயேசு இந்தப் பன்னிருவரையும் அனுப்பியபோது அவர்களுக்கு அறிவுரையாகக் கூறியது: “பிற இனத்தாரின் எப்பகுதிக்கும் செல்ல வேண்டாம். சமாரியாவின் நகர் எதிலும் நுழைய வேண்டாம். மாறாக, வழி தவறிப்போன ஆடுகளான இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களிடமே செல்லுங்கள். அப்படிச் செல்லும்போது ‘விண்ணரசு நெருங்கி வந்துவிட்டது’ எனப் பறைசாற்றுங்கள். நலம் குன்றியவர்கiளைக் குணமாக்குங்கள்; இறந்தோரை உயிர்பெற்றெழச் செய்யுங்கள்; தொழுநோயாளரை நலமாக்குங்கள்; பேய்களை ஓட்டுங்கள்; கொடையாகப் பெற்றீர்கள்; கொடையாகவே வழங்குங்கள்.”

கிறிஸ்து நமக்காக உயிரைக் கொடுத்ததால் நாம் கடவுளோடு ஒப்புரவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம்.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

நாம் இறைப்பற்று இன்றி வலுவற்று இருந்தபோதே, குறித்த காலம் வந்ததும் கிறிஸ்து நமக்காகத் தம் உயிரைக் கொடுத்தார். நேர்மையாளருக்காக ஒருவர் தம் உயிரைக் கொடுத்தலே அரிது. ஒருவேளை நல்லவர் ஒருவருக்காக யாரேனும் தம் உயிரைக் கொடுக்கத் துணியலாம். ஆனால், நாம் பாவிகளாய் இருந்தபோதே கிறிஸ்து நமக்காகத் தம் உயிரைக் கொடுத்தார். இவ்வாறு கடவுள் நம்மீது கொண்டுள்ள தம் அன்பை எடுத்துக்காட்டியுள்ளார்.

ஆகையால் இப்போது நாம் கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்தினால் கடவுளுக்கு ஏற்புடையவர்களாகி, அவர் வழியாய்த் தண்டனையிலிருந்து தப்பி மீட்புப் பெறுவோம் என மிக உறுதியாய் நம்பலாம் அன்றோ? நாம் கடவுளுக்குப் பகைவர்களாயிருந்தும் அவருடைய மகன் நமக்காக உயிரைக் கொடுத்ததால் கடவுளோடு ஒப்புரவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளோம். அப்படியானால் ஒப்புரவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நாம், வாழும் அவர் மகன் வழியாகவே மீட்கப்படுவோம் என மிக உறுதியாய் நம்பலாம் அன்றோ! அதுமட்டும் அல்ல, இப்போது கடவுளோடு நம்மை ஒப்புரவாக்கியுள்ள நம் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் வழியாய் நாம் கடவுளோடு உறவு கொண்டு பெருமகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறோம். இம்மகிழ்ச்சியை நமக்குத் தருபவர் கடவுளே.

அந்நாள்களில்

இரபிதீமிலிருந்து பயணம் மேற்கொண்ட இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் சீனாய் பாலைநிலத்தை வந்தடைந்து, பாலைநிலத்தில் பாளையம் இறங்கினர். அங்கே மலைக்கு முன்பாக இஸ்ரயேலர் பாளையம் இறங்கினர். ஆனால் மோசே கடவுளிடம் ஏறிச் சென்றார்.

அப்போது ஆண்டவர் மலையினின்று அவரை அழைத்து, யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்தார்க்கு நீ சொல்ல வேண்டியது - இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுக்கு நீ அறிவிக்க வேண்டியது - இதுவே: “நான் எகிப்திற்குச் செய்ததையும், கழுகுகளின் இறக்கைகளின் மேல் உங்களை ஏந்தி என்னிடம் வந்து சேரச் செய்ததையும், நீங்களே கண்டீர்கள்.

At that time: When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Brethren: While we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person— though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

The Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’
