அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடர்களை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: “சீடர் குருவை விடப் பெரியவர் அல்ல. பணியாளரும் தம் தலைவரை விடப் பெரியவர் அல்ல. சீடர் தம் குருவைப் போல் ஆகட்டும்; பணியாளர் தம் தலைவரைப் போல் ஆகட்டும். அதுவே போதும். வீட்டுத் தலைவரையே பெயல்செபூல் என அழைப்பவர்கள் வீட்டாரைப் பற்றி இன்னும் தரக் குறைவாகப் பேச மாட்டார்களா?

எனவே, அவர்களுக்கு அஞ்சவேண்டாம். ஏனெனில் வெளிப் படாதவாறு மூடப்பட்டிருப்பது ஒன்றும் இல்லை; அறியமுடியாதவாறு மறைந்திருப்பதும் ஒன்றும் இல்லை. நான் உங்களுக்கு இருளில் சொல்வதை நீங்கள் ஒளியில் கூறுங்கள். காதோடு காதாய்க் கேட்பதை வீட்டின் மேல் தளத்திலிருந்து அறிவியுங்கள்.

ஆன்மாவைக் கொல்ல இயலாமல், உடலை மட்டும் கொல்பவர்களுக்கு அஞ்ச வேண்டாம். ஆன்மாவையும் உடலையும் நரகத்தில் அழிக்க வல்லவருக்கே அஞ்சுங்கள். காசுக்கு இரண்டு சிட்டுக் குருவிகள் விற்பதில்லையா? எனினும் அவற்றுள் ஒன்றுகூட உங்கள் தந்தையின் விருப்பமின்றித் தரையில் விழாது. உங்கள் தலைமுடியெல்லாம் எண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது. சிட்டுக் குருவிகள் பலவற்றைவிட நீங்கள் மேலானவர்கள். எனவே அஞ்சாதிருங்கள்.

மக்கள் முன்னிலையில் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவரை விண்ணுலகில் இருக்கும் என் தந்தையின் முன்னிலையில் நானும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வேன். மக்கள் முன்னிலையில் என்னை மறுதலிப்பவர் எவரையும் விண்ணுலகில் இருக்கிற என் தந்தையின் முன்னிலையில் நானும் மறுதலிப்பேன்.”

இறைவாக்கினர் எசாயா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 6: 1-8

உசியா அரசர் மறைந்த ஆண்டில், மிகவும் உயரமானதோர் அரியணையில் ஆண்டவர் அமர்ந்திருப்பதை நான் கண்டேன்; அவரது தொங்கலாடை கோவிலை நிரப்பி நின்றது. அவருக்கு மேல் சேராபீன்கள் சூழ்ந்து நின்றனர்; ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் ஆறு இறக்கைகள் இருந்தன; ஒவ்வொருவரும் இரண்டு இறக்கைகளால் தம் முகத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டனர்; இரண்டு இறக்கைகளால் தம் கால்களை மூடி மறைத்தனர்; மற்ற இரண்டால் பறந்தனர்.

அவர்களுள் ஒருவர் மற்றவரைப் பார்த்து: ‘படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் தூயவர், தூயவர், தூயவர்; மண்ணுலகம் முழுவதும் அவரது மாட்சியால் நிறைந்துள்ளது’ என்று உரத்த குரலில் கூறிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். கூறியவரின் குரல் ஒலியால் வாயில் நிலைகளின் அடித்தளங்கள் அசைந்தன; கோவில் முழுவதும் புகையால் நிறைந்தது.

அப்பொழுது நான்: “ஐயோ, நான் அழிந்தேன். ஏனெனில் தூய்மையற்ற உதடுகளைக் கொண்ட மனிதன் நான்; தூய்மையற்ற உதடுகள் கொண்ட மக்கள் நடுவில் வாழ்பவன் நான்; படைகளின் ஆண்டவராகிய அரசரை என் கண்கள் கண்டனவே” என்றேன்.

அப்பொழுது சேராபீன்களுள் ஒருவர் பலி பீடத்திலிருந்து நெருப்புப்பொறி ஒன்றைக் குறட்டால் எடுத்து அதைத் தம் கையில் வைத்துக்கொண்டு என்னை நோக்கிப் பறந்து வந்தார். அதனால் என் வாயைத் தொட்டு, “இதோ, இந்நெருப்புப்பொறி உன் உதடுகளைத் தொட்டது. உன் குற்றப்பழி உன்னை விட்டு அகன்றது; உன் பாவம் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டது” என்றார்.

மேலும், “யாரை நான் அனுப்புவேன்? நமது பணிக்காக யார் போவார்?” என வினவும் என் தலைவரின் குரலை நான் கேட்டேன். அதற்கு, “இதோ நானிருக்கிறேன், அடியேனை அனுப்பும்” என்றேன்.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Matthew 10: 24-33

At that time: Jesus said to his apostles, “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household. “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.”

A Reading from the book of the Prophet Isaiah 6: 1-8

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.” And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
