FIRST READING 

"Arise and receive the baptism, be washed from your sins by calling on the name of Jesus" 

from the book of Acts of the Apostles (22, 3-16) 

In those days, Paul said to the people: “I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up here in this city, where, at the school of Gamaliel, I received an education strictly in accordance with the Law of our fathers; I had a jealous ardor for God, like all of you today. I persecuted to death those who follow the Way of the Lord Jesus; I arrested men and women, and threw them in prison; the high priest and the entire elders quorum can testify to this. The latter had given me letters for our brothers in Damascus where I was going: I had to bring back to Jerusalem those from there, in chains, so that they undergo their punishment.

So as I was on my way and approaching Damascus, suddenly around noon, a great light from heaven enveloped me in its clarity. I fell to the ground, and I heard a voice say to me, “Saul, Saul, why are persecuting me?” And I answered: “Who are you, Lord? - I am Jesus the Nazarene, the one you are persecuting. ” Those who were with me saw the light, but did not hear the voice of the one speaking to me. So I said, "What should I do, Lord?" The Lord answered me: “Get up, go as far as Damascus, and there you will be told all that you are ordered to do.” As I could not see anything anymore, because of the radiance of this light, I went to Damascus, led by the hand of my companions.

Now, Ananias, a religious man according to the Law, to whom all the Jews residing there bore good testimony, came and stood near me and said to me: “Saul, my brother, find his sight.” And I, at the same instant, recovered my sight, and I saw him. He said to me again: “The God of our fathers destined you to know his will, to see him who is righteous and to hear the voice that comes out of his mouth. For you will be for him, before all men, the witness of what you have seen and heard. And now, why delay? Arise and receive baptism, be washed from your sins by calling on his name. ” "

மனம் மாறி நற்செய்தியை நம்புங்கள் 

✠ மாற்கு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 1: 14-20 

யோவான் கைதுசெய்யப்பட்டபின், கடவுளின் நற்செய்தியைப் பறைசாற்றிக் கொண்டே இயேசு கலிலேயாவிற்கு வந்தார். “காலம் நிறைவேறிவிட்டது. இறையாட்சி நெருங்கி வந்து விட்டது; மனம் மாறி நற்செய்தியை நம்புங்கள்” என்று அவர் கூறினார். 

அவர் கலிலேயக் கடலோரமாய்ச் சென்றபோது சீமோனையும் அவர் சகோதரரான அந்திரேயாவையும் கண்டார். மீனவர்களான அவர்கள் கடலில் வலை வீசிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “என் பின்னே வாருங்கள்; நான் உங்களை மனிதரைப் பிடிப்பவர் ஆக்குவேன்” என்றார். உடனே அவர்கள் வலைகளை விட்டுவிட்டு அவரைப் பின்பற்றினார்கள். 

பின்னர், சற்று அப்பால் சென்றபோது செபதேயுவின் மகன் யாக்கோபையும் அவர் சகோதரரான யோவானையும் இயேசு கண்டார். அவர்கள் படகில் வலைகளைப் பழுது பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். உடனே இயேசு அவர்களையும் அழைத்தார். அவர்களும் தங்கள் தந்தை செபதேயுவைக் கூலியாள்களோடு படகில் விட்டுவிட்டு அவர் பின் சென்றார்கள். 

இது கிறிஸ்து வழங்கும் நற்செய்தி.

அன்பர்களே, நான் சொல்வது இதுவே: இனியுள்ள காலம் குறுகியதே. இனி மனைவி உள்ளவரும் மனைவி இல்லாதவர்போல இருக்கட்டும். அழுபவர் அழாதவர் போலவும், மகிழ்ச்சியுறுவோர் மகிழ்ச்சியற்றவர் போலவும், பொருள்களை வாங்குவோர் அவை இல்லாதவர் போலவும் இருக்கட்டும். உலகச் செல்வத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துவோர் அவற்றில் முழுமையாக ஈடுபடாதவர்போல் இருக்கட்டும். இவ்வுலகு இப்போது இருப்பதுபோல் நெடுநாள் இராது.

முதல் வாசகம் 

நினிவே மக்கள் தீய வழிகளினின்று விலகினர். 

இறைவாக்கினர் யோனா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 3: 1-5, 10 

அந்நாள்களில் 

இரண்டாம் முறையாக யோனாவுக்கு ஆண்டவரின் வாக்கு அருளப்பட்டது. அவர், ‘‘நீ புறப்பட்டு நினிவே மாநகருக்குப் போய், நான் உன்னிடம் சொல்லும் செய்தியை அங்குள்ளோருக்கு அறிவி” என்றார். அவ்வாறே யோனா புறப்பட்டு ஆண்டவரது கட்டளைப்படி நினிவேக்குச் சென்றார். நினிவே ஒரு மாபெரும் நகர். அதைக் கடக்க மூன்று நாள் ஆகும். யோனா நகருக்குள் சென்று, ஒரு நாள் முழுதும் நடந்த பின், உரத்த குரலில், ‘‘இன்னும் நாற்பது நாளில் நினிவே அழிக்கப்படும்” என்று அறிவித்தார். 

நினிவே நகர மக்கள் கடவுளின் செய்தியை நம்பி, எல்லாரும் நோன்பிருக்க முடிவு செய்தார்கள். பெரியோர், சிறியோர் அனைவரும் சாக்கு உடை உடுத்திக் கொண்டனர். 

கடவுள் அவர்கள் செய்தது அனைத்தையும் பார்த்தார். அவர்கள் தீய வழிகளினின்று விலகியதை அவர் கண்டு, தம் மனத்தை மாற்றிக் கொண்டார்; தாம் அவர்கள் மீது அனுப்புவதாகச் சொல்லியிருந்த தண்டனையை அனுப்பவில்லை. 

இது ஆண்டவர் வழங்கும் அருள்வாக்கு.

After the arrest of John the Baptist, Jesus left for Galilee to proclaim the Gospel of God; he said: "The times are fulfilled: the reign of God is very near." Convert and believe in the gospel. "

Passing along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon's brother, throwing the net into the sea because they were fishermen. He said to them: “Come after me. I will make you become fishers of men. Immediately, leaving their nets, they followed him.

from the first letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (7, 29-31) 

Brothers, I must tell you: time is limited. Therefore, may those who have a wife be as if they have no wife, those who cry, as if they are not crying, those who have joy, as if they do not have any, those who make purchases, as if they don't own anything, those who profit from this world, as if they don't really benefit from it. Because it passes, this world as we see it.

FIRST READING 

"The people of Nineveh turned away from their bad conduct" 

from the book of Jonah (3, 1-5.10) 

The word of the Lord was addressed again to Jonah: “Arise, go to Nineveh, the great pagan city, proclaim the message that I am giving you on it. Jonah got up and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now, Nineveh was an extraordinarily large city: it took three days to cross it. Jonah walked through it barely a day proclaiming: "Another forty days, and Nineveh will be destroyed!" Immediately the people of Nineveh believed in God. They announced a fast, and all, from the largest to the smallest, dressed in sackcloth.

Seeing their reaction, and how they turned away from their bad behavior, God renounced the punishment with which He had threatened them.

இயேசு தம் சீடர்களுடன் வீட்டிற்குச் சென்றார். மீண்டும் மக்கள் கூட்டம் வந்து கூடியதால் அவர்கள் உணவு அருந்தவும் முடியவில்லை. அவருடைய உறவினர் இதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டு, அவரைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுவரச் சென்றார்கள். ஏனெனில் அவர் மதிமயங்கி இருக்கிறார் என்று மக்கள் பேசிக்கொண்டனர்.
