செப்டம்பர் 14 : நற்செய்தி வாசகம்
மானிட மகன் உயர்த்தப்பட வேண்டும்.
✠ யோவான் எழுதிய தூய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 3: 13-17
அக்காலத்தில்
இயேசு நிக்கதேமிடம் கூறியது: “விண்ணகத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி வந்துள்ள மானிட மகனைத் தவிர வேறு எவரும் விண்ணகத்திற்கு ஏறிச் சென்றதில்லை. பாலைநிலத்தில் மோசேயால் பாம்பு உயர்த்தப்பட்டது போல மானிட மகனும் உயர்த்தப்பட வேண்டும். அப்போது அவரிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளும் அனைவரும் நிலைவாழ்வு பெறுவர்.
தம் ஒரே மகன்மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளும் எவரும் அழியாமல் நிலைவாழ்வு பெறும் பொருட்டு அந்த மகனையே அளிக்கும் அளவுக்குக் கடவுள் உலகின் மேல் அன்பு கூர்ந்தார். உலகிற்குத் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பளிக்க அல்ல, தம் மகன் வழியாக அதை மீட்கவே கடவுள் அவரை உலகிற்கு அனுப்பினார்.”

இயேசு தம்மையே தாழ்த்திக்கொண்டார். எனவே கடவுளும் அவரை மிகவே உயர்த்தினார்.
திருத்தூதர் பவுல் பிலிப்பியருக்கு எழுதிய திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 2: 6-11
சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,
கடவுள் வடிவில் விளங்கிய அவர், கடவுளுக்கு இணையாயிருக்கும் நிலையை வலிந்து பற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டியதொன்றாகக் கருதவில்லை. ஆனால் தம்மையே வெறுமையாக்கி அடிமையின் வடிவை ஏற்று மனிதருக்கு ஒப்பானார். மனித உருவில் தோன்றி, சாவை ஏற்கும் அளவுக்கு, அதுவும் சிலுவைச் சாவையே ஏற்கும் அளவுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து தம்மையே தாழ்த்திக்கொண்டார். எனவே கடவுளும் அவரை மிகவே உயர்த்தி, எப்பெயருக்கும் மேலான பெயரை அவருக்கு அருளினார். ஆகவே இயேசுவின் பெயருக்கு விண்ணவர், மண்ணவர், கீழுலகோர் அனைவரும் மண்டியிடுவர்; தந்தையாம் கடவுளின் மாட்சிக்காக ‘இயேசு கிறிஸ்து ஆண்டவர்’ என எல்லா நாவுமே அறிக்கையிடும்.

அவரோ இரக்கம் கொண்டவராய், அவர்கள் குற்றத்தை மன்னித்தார்; அவர்களை அழித்துவிடவில்லை, பலமுறை தம் கோபத்தை அடக்கிக்கொண்டார். தம் சினத்தையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராய் மூட்டவில்லை. - பல்லவி

கொள்ளிவாய்ப் பாம்பைப் பார்க்கிற ஒவ்வொருவனும் பிழைப்பான்.
எண்ணிக்கை நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 21: 4-9
அந்நாள்களில்
ஏதோம் நாட்டைச் சுற்றிப் போகும்படி ஓர் என்ற மலையிலிருந்து இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் ‘செங்கடல் சாலை’ வழியாகப் பயணப்பட்டனர்; அவ்வழியை முன்னிட்டு மக்கள் பொறுமை இழந்தனர். மக்கள் கடவுளுக்கும் மோசேக்கும் எதிராகப் பேசினர்: “இந்தப் பாலைநிலத்தில் மாளும்படி எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து கொண்டு வந்தது ஏன்? இங்கு உணவுமில்லை, தண்ணீருமில்லை, அற்பமான இந்த உணவு எங்களுக்கு வெறுத்துப் போய்விட்டது” என்றனர்.
உடனே ஆண்டவர் கொள்ளிவாய்ப் பாம்புகளை மக்களிடையே அனுப்பினார்; அவை கடிக்கவே இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களில் பலர் மாண்டனர். அப்போது மக்கள் மோசேயிடம் வந்து, “நாங்கள் பாவம் செய்துள்ளோம்; நாங்கள் ஆண்டவருக்கும் உமக்கும் எதிராகப் பேசியுள்ளோம்; அவர் இந்தப் பாம்புகளை அகற்றிவிடும்படி நீர் ஆண்டவரிடம் வேண்டிக் கொள்ளும்” என்றனர்.
அவ்வாறே மோசே மக்களுக்காக மன்றாடினார். அப்போது ஆண்டவர் மோசேயிடம், “கொள்ளிவாய்ப் பாம்பு ஒன்றைச் செய்து அதை ஒரு கம்பத்தில் பொருத்து; கடிக்கப்பட்டோரில் இதைப் பார்க்கிற ஒவ்வொருவனும் பிழைப்பான்” என்றார். அவ்வாறே மோசே ஒரு வெண்கலப் பாம்பைச் செய்து அதை ஒரு கம்பத்தில் பொருத்தினார்; பாம்பு கடித்த எந்த ஒரு மனிதனும் இந்த வெண்கலப் பாம்பைப் பார்த்து உயிர் பிழைப்பான்.

God sent his Son so that through him the world might be saved
A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.John 3 : 13-17
At that time: Jesus said to Nicodemus, “No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

Christ humbled himself but God raised him high
A Reading from the Letter of St.Paul to the Philippians 2 : 6-11.
Christ Jesus who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
