ஆண்டவரே, நீர்தான் எங்கள் தந்தை; பண்டைய நாளிலிருந்து ‘எம் மீட்பர்’ என்பதே உம் பெயராம். ஆண்டவரே, உம் வழிகளிலிருந்து எங்களைப் பிறழச் செய்வது ஏன்? உமக்கு அஞ்சி நடவாதவாறு எம் நெஞ்சங்களைக் கடினப்படுத்தியது ஏன்? உம் ஊழியர்களை முன்னிட்டும், உம் உரிமைச் சொத்தாகிய குலங்களை முன்னிட்டும் திரும்பி வாரும். நீர் வானங்களைப் பிளந்து இறங்கி வரமாட்டீரா? மலைகள் உம் திருமுன் நடுநடுங்குமே! 

நீர் இறங்கி வந்தீர்; மலைகள் உம் முன்னே உருகி ஓடின! தம்மை நம்பியிருப்போருக்காகச் செயலாற்றும் கடவுள் உம்மையன்றி வேறு யார்? முற்காலம் முதல் இதுபற்றி எவரும் கேள்வியுற்றதில்லை; செவியுற்றதும் இல்லை. கண்ணால் பார்த்ததுமில்லை. மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் நேர்மையைக் கடைப்பிடிப்போர்க்கும், உம்மையும் உம் வழிகளையும் நினைவில் கொள்வோர்க்கும் நீர் துணை செய்ய விரைகிறீர். 

இதோ, நீர் சினமடைந்தீர்; நாங்கள் பாவம் செய்தோம்; நெடுங்காலமாய்ப் பாவம் செய்திருக்க, நாங்கள் மீட்கப்படுவது எங்ஙனம்? நாங்கள் அனைவரும் தீட்டுப்பட்டவரைப்போல் உள்ளோம்; எங்கள் நேரிய செயல்கள் எல்லாம் அழுக்கடைந்த ஆடைபோல் ஆயின; நாங்கள் யாவரும் இலைபோல் கருகிப்போகின்றோம்; எங்கள் தீச்செயல்கள் காற்றைப்போல் எங்களை அடித்துச் சென்றன. 

உம் பெயரைப் போற்றுவார் எவரும் இல்லை; உம்மைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ள முயல்பவர் எவரும் இல்லை; நீர் உம் முகத்தை எங்களுக்கு மறைத்துள்ளீர்; எங்கள் தீச்செயல்களின் பிடியில் எங்களை அழியவிட்டீர். ஆயினும், ஆண்டவரே நீரே எங்கள் தந்தை; நாங்கள் களிமண், நீர் எங்கள் குயவன்; நாங்கள் அனைவரும் உம் கைவேலைப்பாடுகளே.

For I am under authority myself and have soldiers under me; and I say to one man, "Go," and he goes; to another, "Come here," and he comes; to my servant, "Do this," and he does it.' Then the angel showed me the river of life, rising from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowing crystal-clear. Down the middle of the city street, on either bank of the river were the trees of life, which bear twelve crops of fruit in a year, one in each month, and the leaves of which are the cure for the nations. The curse of destruction will be abolished. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city; his servants will worship him, they will see him face to face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And night will be abolished; they will not need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God will be shining on them. They will reign for ever and ever.

The angel said to me, 'All that you have written is sure and will come true: the Lord God who inspires the prophets has sent his angel to reveal to his servants what is soon to take place. I am coming soon!' Blessed are those who keep the prophetic message of this book.

*திருத்தூதர் யோவான் எழுதிய திருவெளிப்பாட்டிலிருந்து வாசகம் 22: 1-7*

வானதூதர் வாழ்வு அளிக்கும் தண்ணீர் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்த ஓர் ஆற்றை எனக்குக் காட்டினார். அது பளிங்குபோல் ஒளிர்ந்தது. அது கடவுளும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியும் வீற்றிருந்த அரியணையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, நகரின் தெரு நடுவே பாய்ந்தோடியது. ஆற்றின் இரு மருங்கும் வாழ்வு தரும் மரம் இருந்தது. மாதத்துக்கு ஒரு முறையாக அது ஆண்டுதோறும் பன்னிரு முறை கனிகள் தரும். அதன் இலைகள் மக்களினங்களைக் குணப்படுத்தக் கூடியவை. சாபத்துக்கு உள்ளானது எதுவும் நகரில் இராது. கடவுளும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியும் வீற்றிருக்கும் அரியணை அங்கு இருக்கும். கடவுளின் பணியாளர்கள் அவரை வழிபடுவார்கள்; அவரது முகத்தைக் காண்பார்கள். அவரது பெயர் அவர்களுடைய நெற்றியில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கும். இனி இரவே இராது. விளக்கின் ஒளியோ கதிரவனின் ஒளியோ அவர்களுக்குத் தேவைப்படாது. ஏனெனில் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் அவர்கள்மீது ஒளி வீசுவார்; அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் ஆட்சிபுரிவார்கள். பின்னர் அந்த வானதூதர் என்னிடம், ``இவ்வாக்குகள் நம்பத்தக்கவை, உண்மையுள்ளவை. விரைவில் நிகழவேண்டியவற்றைத் தம் பணியாளர்களுக்குக் காட்டுமாறு, இறைவாக்கினரைத் தூண்டியெழுப்பும் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் தம் வானதூதரை அனுப்பினார். இதோ! நான் விரைவில் வருகிறேன்'' என்றார். இந்த நூலில் உள்ள இறைவாக்குகளைக் கடைப்பிடிப்போர் பேறுபெற்றோர்.

Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormous chain.

He overpowered the dragon, that primeval serpent which is the devil and Satan, and chained him up for a thousand years. He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would not lead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed. At the end of that time he must be released, but only for a short while. Then I saw thrones, where they took their seats, and on them was conferred the power to give judgement. I saw the souls of all who had been beheaded for having witnessed for Jesus and for having preached God's word, and those who refused to worship the beast or his statue and would not accept the brandmark on their foreheads or hands; they came to life, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Then I saw a great white throne and the One who was sitting on it. In his presence, earth and sky vanished, leaving no trace. I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing in front of his throne while the books lay open. And another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from what was written in the books, as their deeds deserved. The sea gave up all the dead who were in it; Death and Hades were emptied of the dead that were in them; and every one was judged as his deeds deserved. Then Death and Hades were hurled into the burning lake. This burning lake is the second death; and anybody whose name could not be found written in the book of life was hurled into the burning lake. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride dressed for her husband.
