midnight, or when the cock crows, or in the morning – lest he come suddenly

I am continually thanking God about you, for the grace of God which you have been given in Christ Jesus; 

in him you have been richly endowed in every kind of utterance and knowledge; 

so firmly has witness to Christ taken root in you. 

And so you are not lacking in any gift as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed; 

he will continue to give you strength till the very end, so that you will be irreproachable on the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

You can rely on God, who has called you to be partners with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your heritage. Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence. You came down, the mountains quaked at your presence. From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him. மானிடமகன் வருகையைப்பற்றி இயேசு தம் சீடர்களுக்குக் கூறியது: “கவனமாயிருங்கள், விழிப்பாயிருங்கள். ஏனெனில் அந்நேரம் எப்போது வரும் என உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது. நெடும் பயணம் செல்ல இருக்கும் ஒருவர் தம் வீட்டை விட்டு வெளியேறும்போது தம் பணியாளர் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் அவரவர் பணிக்குப் பொறுப்பாளராக்கி, விழிப்பாய் இருக்கும்படி வாயில் காவலருக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவார். 

அதுபோலவே நீங்களும் விழிப்பாயிருங்கள். ஏனெனில் வீட்டுத் தலைவர் மாலையிலோ, நள்ளிரவிலோ, சேவல் கூவும் வேளையிலோ, காலையிலோ எப்போது வருவார் என உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது. அவர் திடீரென்று வந்து நீங்கள் தூங்குவதைக் காணக்கூடாது. நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுவதை எல்லாருக்குமே சொல்கிறேன்: விழிப்பாயிருங்கள்.”

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, 

நம் தந்தையாம் கடவுளிடமிருந்தும் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடமிருந்தும் அருளும் அமைதியும் உரித்தாகுக! இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நமக்குமட்டும் அல்ல, அனைவருக்கும் ஆண்டவர். 

கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் வழியாக நீங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட இறையருளை முன்னிட்டு உங்களை நினைத்து என் கடவுளுக்கு என்றும் நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன். ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவுடன் இணைக்கப்பெற்றுச் சொல்வன்மையும் நிறையறிவும் பெற்று, எல்லா வகையிலும் செல்வர்களானீர்கள். மேலும் கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றிய சான்று உங்களால் உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து வெளிப்படுவதற்காகக் காத்திருக்கும் உங்களுக்கு அருள்கொடை எதிலும் குறையே இல்லை. நம் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து வெளிப்படும் நாளில் நீங்கள் குறைச் சொல்லுக்கு ஆளாகாதிருக்க அவர் உங்களை இறுதிவரை உறுதிப்படுத்துவார். கடவுள் நம்பிக்கைக்குரியவர்; தம் மகனும் நம் ஆண்டவருமாகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் நட்புறவில் பங்குபெற உங்களை அவர் அழைத்துள்ளார்.

ஆண்டவரே, நீர்தான் எங்கள் தந்தை; பண்டைய நாளிலிருந்து ‘எம் மீட்பர்’ என்பதே உம் பெயராம். ஆண்டவரே, உம் வழிகளிலிருந்து எங்களைப் பிறழச் செய்வது ஏன்? உமக்கு அஞ்சி நடவாதவாறு எம் நெஞ்சங்களைக் கடினப்படுத்தியது ஏன்? உம் ஊழியர்களை முன்னிட்டும், உம் உரிமைச் சொத்தாகிய குலங்களை முன்னிட்டும் திரும்பி வாரும். நீர் வானங்களைப் பிளந்து இறங்கி வரமாட்டீரா? மலைகள் உம் திருமுன் நடுநடுங்குமே! 

நீர் இறங்கி வந்தீர்; மலைகள் உம் முன்னே உருகி ஓடின! தம்மை நம்பியிருப்போருக்காகச் செயலாற்றும் கடவுள் உம்மையன்றி வேறு யார்? முற்காலம் முதல் இதுபற்றி எவரும் கேள்வியுற்றதில்லை; செவியுற்றதும் இல்லை. கண்ணால் பார்த்ததுமில்லை. மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் நேர்மையைக் கடைப்பிடிப்போர்க்கும், உம்மையும் உம் வழிகளையும் நினைவில் கொள்வோர்க்கும் நீர் துணை செய்ய விரைகிறீர். 

இதோ, நீர் சினமடைந்தீர்; நாங்கள் பாவம் செய்தோம்; நெடுங்காலமாய்ப் பாவம் செய்திருக்க, நாங்கள் மீட்கப்படுவது எங்ஙனம்? நாங்கள் அனைவரும் தீட்டுப்பட்டவரைப்போல் உள்ளோம்; எங்கள் நேரிய செயல்கள் எல்லாம் அழுக்கடைந்த ஆடைபோல் ஆயின; நாங்கள் யாவரும் இலைபோல் கருகிப்போகின்றோம்; எங்கள் தீச்செயல்கள் காற்றைப்போல் எங்களை அடித்துச் சென்றன.

```When he went into Capernaum a centurion came up and pleaded with him. 'Sir,' he said, 'my servant is lying at home paralysed and in great pain.' Jesus said to him, 'I will come myself and cure him.' The centurion replied, 'Sir, I am not worthy to have you under my roof; just give the word and my servant will be cured. For I am under authority myself and have soldiers under me; and I say to one man, "Go," and he goes; to another, "Come here," and he comes; to my servant, "Do this," and he does it.' When Jesus heard this he was astonished and said to those following him, 'In truth I tell you, in no one in Israel have I found faith as great as this. And I tell you that many will come from east and west and sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob at the feast in the kingdom of Heaven;  'Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened by debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will come upon you unexpectedly, like a trap. For it will come down on all those living on the face of the earth.
