எம் பாவங்களிலிருந்து மனமாற்றம் அருள்கிறீர்.

சாலமோனின் ஞான நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 12: 13, 16-19

ஆண்டவரே, உம்மைத் தவிர வேறு கடவுள் இல்லை. எல்லாவற்றின் மீதும் நீர் கருத்தாய் இருக்கிறீர். முறைகேடாக நீர் தீர்ப்பு வழங்குவதில்லை என்பதை யாரிடம் காட்ட வேண்டும்?

உமது ஆற்றலே நீதியின் ஊற்று. அனைத்தின் மீதும் உமக்குள்ள ஆட்சியுரிமை அனைத்தையும் வாழும்படி விட்டு வைக்கிறது. மனிதர்கள் உமது வலிமையின் நிறைவை ஐயுறும்போது நீர் உம்முடைய ஆற்றலைக் காட்டுகிறீர்; அதை அறிந்திருந்தும் செருக்குற்றிருப்போரை அடக்குகிறீர். நீர் ஆற்றல் மிக்கவராய் இருப்பதால் கனிவோடு தீர்ப்பு வழங்குகிறீர்; மிகுந்த பொறுமையோடு எங்களை ஆள்கிறீர். ஏனெனில் நீர் விரும்பும் போதெல்லாம் செயல் புரிய உமக்கு வலிமை உண்டு.

நீதிமான்கள் மனிதநேயம் கொண்டவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை இச்செயல்கள் வாயிலாக உம் மக்களுக்குக் கற்றுக் கொடுத்தீர்; உம் மக்களை நன்னம்பிக்கையால் நிரப்பினீர்; ஏனெனில் பாவங்களிலிருந்து மனமாற்றம் அருள்கிறீர்.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Matthew 13: 24-43

Jesus put another parable before the crowds: ‘The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everybody was asleep his enemy came, sowed darnel all among the wheat, and made off. When the new wheat sprouted and ripened, the darnel appeared as well. The owner’s servants went to him and said, “Sir, was it not good seed that you sowed in your field? If so, where does the darnel come from?” “Some enemy has done this” he answered. And the servants said, “Do you want us to go and weed it out?” But he said, “No, because when you weed out the darnel you might pull up the wheat with it. Let them both grow till the harvest; and at harvest time I shall say to the reapers: First collect the darnel and tie it in bundles to be burnt, then gather the wheat into my barn.”’

  He put another parable before them: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the biggest shrub of all and becomes a tree so that the birds of the air come and shelter in its branches.’

  He told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like the yeast a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour till it was leavened all through.’

  In all this Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables; indeed, he would never speak to them except in parables. This was to fulfil the prophecy:

I will speak to you in parables

and expound things hidden since the foundation of the world.

Then, leaving the crowds, he went to the house; and his disciples came to him and said, ‘Explain the parable about the darnel in the field to us.’ He said in reply, ‘The sower of the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world; the good seed is the subjects of the kingdom; the darnel, the subjects of the evil one; the enemy who sowed them, the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; the reapers are the angels. Well then, just as the darnel is gathered up and burnt in the fire, so it will be at the end of time. The Son of Man will send his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that provoke offences and all who do evil, and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth. Then the virtuous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Listen, anyone who has ears!’

The Spirit himself expresses our plea in a way that could never be put into words

A reading from the letter of St.Paul to the Romans 8:26-27 

The Spirit comes to help us in our weakness. For when we cannot choose words in order to pray properly, the Spirit himself expresses our plea in a way that could never be put into words, and God who knows everything in our hearts knows perfectly well what he means, and that the pleas of the saints expressed by the Spirit are according to the mind of God.

You will grant repentance after sin

A reading from the book of Wisdom 12:13,16-19 

There is no god, other than you, who cares for every thing,

to whom you might have to prove that you never judged unjustly.

Your justice has its source in strength,

your sovereignty over all makes you lenient to all.

You show your strength when your sovereign power is questioned

and you expose the insolence of those who know it;

but, disposing of such strength, you are mild in judgement,

you govern us with great lenience,

for you have only to will, and your power is there.

By acting thus you have taught a lesson to your people

how the virtuous man must be kindly to his fellow men,

and you have given your sons the good hope

that after sin you will grant repentance.

வாரத்தின் முதல் நாளன்று விடியற் காலையில் இருள் நீங்கும் முன்பே மகதலா மரியா கல்லறைக்குச் சென்றார்; கல்லறை வாயிலில் இருந்த கல் அகற்றப்பட்டிருப்பதைக் கண்டார்.

மரியா கல்லறைக்கு வெளியே நின்று அழுதுகொண்டிருந்தார்; அழுதுகொண்டே கல்லறைக்குள் குனிந்து பார்த்தார். அங்கே வெண்ணாடை அணிந்த இரு வானதூதரை அவர் கண்டார். இயேசுவின் உடலை வைத்திருந்த இடத்தில் ஒருவர் தலைமாட்டிலும் மற்றவர் கால்மாட்டிலுமாக அவர்கள் அமர்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.

அவர்கள் மரியாவிடம், “அம்மா, ஏன் அழுகிறீர்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள். அவர் அவர்களிடம், “என் ஆண்டவரை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய் விட்டனர்; அவரை எங்கே வைத்தனரோ எனக்குத் தெரியவில்லை” என்றார்.

இப்படிச் சொல்லிவிட்டு அவர் திரும்பிப் பார்த்தபோது இயேசு நிற்பதைக் கண்டார். ஆனால் அங்கு நிற்பவர் இயேசு என்று அவர் அறிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.

இயேசு அவரிடம், “ஏனம்மா அழுகிறாய்? யாரைத் தேடுகிறாய்?” என்று கேட்டார். மரியா அவரைத் தோட்டக்காரர் என்று நினைத்து அவரிடம், “ஐயா, நீர் அவரைத் தூக்கிக்கொண்டு போயிருந்தால் எங்கே வைத்தீர் எனச் சொல்லும். நான் அவரை எடுத்துச் செல்வேன்” என்றார்.

இயேசு அவரிடம், “மரியா” என்றார். மரியா திரும்பிப் பார்த்து, “ரபூனி” என்றார். இந்த எபிரேயச் சொல்லுக்கு ‘போதகரே’ என்பது பொருள். இயேசு அவரிடம், “என்னை இப்படிப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளாதே. நான் என் தந்தையிடம் இன்னும் செல்லவில்லை. நீ என் சகோதரர்களிடம் சென்று அவர்களிடம், ‘என் தந்தையும் உங்கள் தந்தையும் என் கடவுளும் உங்கள் கடவுளுமானவரிடம் செல்ல இருக்கிறேன்’ எனச் சொல்” என்றார்.

மகதலா மரியா சீடரிடம் சென்று, “நான் ஆண்டவரைக் கண்டேன்” என்றார்; தம்மிடம் இயேசு கூறியவற்றையும் அவர்களிடம் சொன்னார்.

இரவு நேரம் படுக்கையில் இருந்தேன்; என் உயிர்க்குயிரான அன்பரைத் தேடினேன்; தேடியும் அவரை நான் கண்டேன் அல்லேன்! “எழுந்திடுவேன்; நகரத்தில் சுற்றிவருவேன்; தெருக்களிலும் நாற்சந்திகளிலும் சுற்றி என் உயிர்க்குயிரான அன்பரைத் தேடுவேன்” தேடினேன்; தேடியும் அவரைக் கண்டேன் அல்லேன்!

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.John 20:1-2,11-18 

It was very early on the first day of the week and still dark, when Mary of Magdala came to the tomb. She saw that the stone had been moved away from the tomb and came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved. ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb’ she said ‘and we don’t know where they have put him.’

  Meanwhile Mary stayed outside near the tomb, weeping. Then, still weeping, she stooped to look inside, and saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had been, one at the head, the other at the feet. They said, ‘Woman, why are you weeping?’ ‘They have taken my Lord away’ she replied ‘and I don’t know where they have put him.’ As she said this she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, though she did not recognise him. Jesus said, ‘Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?’ Supposing him to be the gardener, she said, ‘Sir, if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and remove him.’ Jesus said, ‘Mary!’ She knew him then and said to him in Hebrew, ‘Rabbuni!’ – which means Master. Jesus said to her, ‘Do not cling to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father.
