அருள் நிறைந்த இறை அரியணையைத் துணிவுடன் அணுகிச் செல்வோமாக. 

எபிரேயருக்கு எழுதப்பட்ட திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 4: 12-16 

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, கடவுளுடைய வார்த்தை உயிருள்ளது, ஆற்றல் வாய்ந்தது; இரு பக்கமும் வெட்டக்கூடிய எந்த வாளினும் கூர்மையானது; ஆன்மாவையும் ஆவியையும் பிரிக்கும் அளவுக்குக் குத்தி ஊடுருவுகிறது; எலும்பு மூட்டையும் மச்சையையும் அவ்வாறே ஊடுருவுகிறது; உள்ளத்தின் சிந்தனைகளையும் நோக்கங்களையும் சீர்தூக்கிப் பார்க்கிறது. படைப்பு எதுவும் கடவுளுடைய பார்வைக்கு மறைவாய் இல்லை. அவருடைய கண்களுக்கு முன் அனைத்தும் மறைவின்றி வெளிப்படையாய் இருக்கின்றன. நாம் அவருக்கே கணக்குக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். எனவே, வானங்களைக் கடந்து சென்ற இறைமகனாகிய இயேசுவை நாம் தனிப்பெரும் தலைமைக் குருவாகக் கொண்டுள்ளதால், நாம் அறிக்கையிடுவதை விடாது பற்றிக்கொள்வோமாக! 

ஏனெனில், நம் தலைமைக் குரு நம்முடைய வலுவின்மையைக் கண்டு இரக்கம் காட்ட இயலாதவர் அல்ல; மாறாக, எல்லா வகையிலும் நம்மைப் போலச் சோதிக்கப்பட்டவர்; எனினும் பாவம் செய்யாதவர். எனவே, நாம் இரக்கத்தைப் பெறவும், ஏற்ற வேளையில் உதவக்கூடிய அருளைக் கண்டடையவும், அருள் நிறைந்த இறை அரியணையைத் துணிவுடன் அணுகிச் செல்வோமாக.

He went out again to the shore of the lake; and all the people came to him, and he taught them.

As he was walking along he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, 'Follow me.' And he got up and followed him.

When Jesus was at dinner in his house, a number of tax collectors and sinners were also sitting at table with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many of them among his followers.

When the scribes of the Pharisee party saw him eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, 'Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?'

When Jesus heard this he said to them, 'It is not the healthy who need the doctor, but the sick. I came to call not the upright, but sinners.'

FIRST READING 

Let us boldly approach the throne of grace. 

A Reading from the Book of Hebrews 4:12-16 

The word of God is something alive and active: it cuts more incisively than any two-edged sword: it can seek out the place where soul is divided from spirit, or joints from marrow; it can pass judgement on secret emotions and thoughts.

No created thing is hidden from him; everything is uncovered and stretched fully open to the eyes of the one to whom we must give account of ourselves.

Since in Jesus, the Son of God, we have the supreme high priest who has gone through to the highest heaven, we must hold firm to our profession of faith.

For the high priest we have is not incapable of feeling our weaknesses with us, but has been put to the test in exactly the same way as ourselves, apart from sin.

Let us, then, have no fear in approaching the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace when we are in need of help.

The Son of Man has the power to forgive sins on earth. 

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark 2:1-12 

When he returned to Capernaum, some time later word went round that he was in the house;

and so many people collected that there was no room left, even in front of the door. He was preaching the word to them

when some people came bringing him a paralytic carried by four men,

but as they could not get the man to him through the crowd, they stripped the roof over the place where Jesus was; and when they had made an opening, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic lay.

Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, 'My child, your sins are forgiven.'

Now some scribes were sitting there, and they thought to themselves,

'How can this man talk like that? He is being blasphemous. Who but God can forgive sins?'

And at once, Jesus, inwardly aware that this is what they were thinking, said to them, 'Why do you have these thoughts in your hearts?

Which of these is easier: to say to the paralytic, "Your sins are forgiven" or to say, "Get up, pick up your stretcher and walk"?

But to prove to you that the Son of man has authority to forgive sins on earth' --

he said to the paralytic-'I order you: get up, pick up your stretcher, and go off home.'

And the man got up, and at once picked up his stretcher and walked out in front of everyone, so that they were all astonished and praised God saying, 'We have never seen anything like this.'

3 What we have heard and know, what our ancestors have told us 

4 we shall not conceal from their descendants, but will tell to a generation still to come: the praises of Yahweh, his power, the wonderful deeds he has done. 

6 that a generation still to come might know it, children yet to be born. They should be sure to tell their own children, 

7 and should put their trust in God, never forgetting God's great deeds, always keeping his commands, 

8 and not, like their ancestors, be a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation weak of purpose, their spirit fickle towards God.

We are the ones who receive the rest that God gives us, the ones who have faith. 

A Reading from the Book of Hebrews 4:1-5, 11 

Let us beware, then: since the promise never lapses, none of you must think that he has come too late for the promise of entering his place of rest.

We received the gospel exactly as they did; but hearing the message did them no good because they did not share the faith of those who did listen.

We, however, who have faith, are entering a place of rest, as in the text: And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest. Now God's work was all finished at the beginning of the world;

as one text says, referring to the seventh day: And God rested on the seventh day after all the work he had been doing.

And, again, the passage above says: They will never reach my place of rest.

Let us, then, press forward to enter this place of rest, or some of you might copy this example of refusal to believe and be lost.

மண்ணுலகில் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க, மானிட மகனுக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு. 

மாற்கு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 2: 1-12 

இயேசு மீண்டும் கப்பர்நாகுமுக்குச் சென்றார். அவர் வீட்டில் இருக்கிறார் என்னும் செய்தி பரவிற்று. பலர் வந்து கூடவே, வீட்டு வாயிலருகிலும் இடமில்லாமல் போயிற்று. அவர் அவர்களுக்கு இறைவார்த்தையை எடுத்துரைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அப்போது முடக்குவாதமுற்ற ஒருவரை நால்வர் சுமந்து அவரிடம் கொண்டுவந்தனர். மக்கள் திரண்டிருந்த காரணத்தால் அவரை இயேசுவுக்கு முன் கொண்டுவர இயலவில்லை. எனவே அவர் இருந்த இடத்திற்கு மேலே வீட்டின் கூரையை உடைத்துத் திறப்பு உண்டாக்கி, முடக்குவாதமுற்றவரைப் படுக்கையோடு கீழே இறக்கினர். இயேசு அவர்களுடைய நம்பிக்கையைக் கண்டு, முடக்குவாதமுற்றவரிடம், ``மகனே, உன் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டன'' என்றார். அங்கே அமர்ந்திருந்த மறைநூல் அறிஞர் சிலர், ``இவன் ஏன் இப்படிப் பேசுகிறான்? இவன் கடவுளைப் பழிக்கிறான். கடவுள் ஒருவரே அன்றிப் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க யாரால் இயலும்?'' என உள்ளத்தில் எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். உடனே அவர்கள் தமக்குள் இவ்வாறு எண்ணுவதை இயேசு தம்முள் உணர்ந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி, ``உங்கள் உள்ளங்களில் இவ்வாறு எண்ணுவது ஏன்? முடக்குவாதமுற்ற இவனிடம் `உன் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டன' என்பதா? `எழுந்து உன் படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு நட' என்பதா? எது எளிது? மண்ணுலகில் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க மானிட மகனுக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு என்பதை நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும்'' என்றார். எனவே அவர் முடக்குவாதமுற்றவரை நோக்கி, ``நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், நீ எழுந்து உன்னுடைய படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு உனது வீட்டுக்குப் போ'' என்றார். அவரும் எழுந்து உடனே தம்முடைய படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு எல்லாரும் காண வெளியே சென்றார். இதனால் அனைவரும் மலைத்துப்போய், ``இதைப்போல நாம் ஒருபோதும் கண்டதில்லையே'' என்று கூறிக் கடவுளைப் போற்றிப் புகழ்ந்தனர். 

இது கிறிஸ்து வழங்கும் நற்செய்தி.

3 நாங்கள் கேட்டவை, நாங்கள் அறிந்தவை, எம் மூதாதையர் எமக்கு விரித்துரைத்தவை - இவற்றை உரைப்போம்.

4 வரவிருக்கும் தலைமுறைக்கு ஆண்டவரின் புகழ்மிகு,

வலிமைமிகு செயல்களையும் அவர் ஆற்றிய வியத்தகு செயல்களையும் எடுத்துரைப்போம். -பல்லவி

கடவுள் தரும் ஓய்வைப் பெறுகிறவர்கள், நம்பிக்கையுடன் இருக்கும் நாமே. 

எபிரேயருக்கு எழுதப்பட்ட திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 4: 1-5,11 

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, கடவுள் தரும் ஓய்வைப் பெறுவது பற்றி அவர் அளித்த வாக்குறுதி இன்னும் நிலைத்திருப்பதால், உங்களுள் எவரேனும் அதை அடையத் தவறிவிடக் கூடாது என எண்ணுகிறேன். இது குறித்து நாம் கவனமாய் இருப்போமாக. ஏனெனில் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது போலவே, நமக்கும் நற்செய்தி அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. ஆயினும் அவர்கள் கேட்ட செய்தி அவர்களுக்குப் பயன் அளிக்கவில்லை; ஏனெனில் கேட்டவர்கள் அச்செய்தியை நம்பிக்கையோடு கேட்கவில்லை. இந்த ஓய்வைப் பெறுகிறவர்கள் நம்பிக்கையுடன் இருக்கும் நாமே. இதைக் குறித்தே, ``நான் சினமுற்று, `நான் அளிக்கும் இளைப்பாற்றியின் நாட்டிற்குள் நுழையவே மாட்டார்கள்' என்று ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறினேன்'' என எடுத்துரைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனினும் உலகம் தோன்றிய காலத்திலேயே கடவுளுடைய வேலைகள் முடிந்துவிட்டன. ஏனெனில் மறைநூலில் ஓரிடத்தில் ஏழாம் நாள் பற்றி, ``கடவுள் தாம் செய்த வேலைகள் அனைத்தையும் நிறைவு பெறச்செய்து, ஏழாம் நாளில் ஓய்ந்திருந்தார்'' என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும், மேற்சொன்ன சொற்றொடரில், ``அவர்கள் நான் அளிக்கும் இளைப்பாற்றியின் நாட்டிற்குள் நுழையவே மாட்டார்கள்'' என்றிருக்கிறது. ஆதலால், கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களின் மாதிரியைப் பின்பற்றி, எவரும் வீழ்ச்சியுறாதவாறு அந்த ஓய்வைப் பெற முழு முயற்சி செய்வோமாக. 

இது ஆண்டவர் வழங்கும் அருள்வாக்கு.
