முதல் வாசகம் 

விடியும்வரை படுக்கையில் புரண்டு உழல்வேன். 

யோபு நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 7: 1-4,6-7 

யோபு கூறியது: மண்ணில் வாழ்வது மனிதருக்குப் போராட்டந்தானே? அவர்களின் நாள்கள் கூலியாள்களின் நாள்களைப் போன்றவைதாமே? நிழலுக்கு ஏங்கும் அடிமை போலவும், கூலிக்குக் காத்திருக்கும் வேலையாள் போலவும், வெறுமையான திங்கள்கள் எனக்கு வாய்த்தன; இன்னல்மிகு இரவுகள் எனக்குப் பங்காயின. படுக்கும்போது எப்போது எழலாம் என்பேன்! இரவோ நீண்டிருக்கும்; விடியும்வரை புரண்டு உழல்வேன். என் நாள்கள் தறியின் ஓடுகட்டையினும் விரைந்தோடுகின்றன; அவை நம்பிக்கையின்றி முடிவடைகின்றன. என் உயிர் வெறுங்காற்றே என்பதை நினைவுகூர்வீர்; என் கண்கள் மீண்டும் நன்மையைக் காணா. 

இது ஆண்டவர் வழங்கும் அருள்வாக்கு.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to  Mark (6, 30-34) 

At that time, the Apostles gathered together with Jesus, and told him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, “Come aside into a deserted place, and rest a little. In fact, there were many who arrived and those who left, and there was not even time to eat. So they set off in a boat for a deserted place, out of the way. People saw them walking away, and many understood their intention. So, on foot, from all the towns, they ran there and got there before them. As he disembarked, Jesus saw a large crowd. He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began to teach them at length.

FIRST READING 

"May the God of peace, he who brought up the Pastor par excellence from the dead, train you in all that is good" 

the letter to the Hebrews (13, 15-17.20-21) 

Brothers, in all circumstances, offer to God, through Jesus, a sacrifice of praise, that is, the words of our lips which proclaim his name. Remember to be generous and to share. It is through such sacrifices that one pleases God. Trust those who lead you and be submissive to them; indeed, they are there to watch over your souls, which they will have to account for. Thus, they will accomplish their task with joy, without having to complain, which will not be of any benefit to you.

May the God of peace, he who raised up from the dead, thanks to the blood of the Eternal Covenant, the Shepherd of the sheep, the Shepherd par excellence, our Lord Jesus, may this God train you in all that is good to accomplish his will, that he fulfills in us what is pleasing in his eyes, through Jesus Christ, to whom the glory belongs forever and ever. Amen.

நற்செய்தி வாசகம் 

மக்கள் ஆயரில்லா ஆடுகளைப்போல் இருந்தார்கள். 

மாற்கு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 6: 30-34 

அக்காலத்தில் திருத்தூதர்கள் இயேசுவிடம் வந்து கூடித் தாங்கள் செய்தவை, கற்பித்தவை எல்லாம் அவருக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள். அவர் அவர்களிடம், ``நீங்கள் பாலை நிலத்திலுள்ள தனிமையான ஓர் இடத்திற்குச் சென்று சற்று ஓய்வெடுங்கள்'' என்றார். ஏனெனில் பலர் வருவதும் போவதுமாய் இருந்ததால், உண்பதற்குக்கூட அவர்களுக்கு நேரம் கிடைக்கவில்லை. அவ்வாறே அவர்கள் படகேறிப் பாலைநிலத்தில் உள்ள தனிமையான ஓர் இடத்திற்குச் சென்றார்கள். அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுப் போவதை மக்கள் பார்த்தார்கள். பலர் அவர்களை இன்னாரென்று தெரிந்துகொண்டு, எல்லா நகர்களிலிருந்தும் கால்நடையாகவே கூட்டமாய் ஓடி, அவர்களுக்கு முன் அங்கு வந்து சேர்ந்தனர். அவர் கரையில் இறங்கியபோது பெருந்திரளான மக்களைக் கண்டார். அவர்கள் ஆயரில்லா ஆடுகளைப்போல் இருந்ததால் அவர்கள்மீது பரிவு கொண்டு, அவர்களுக்குப் பலவற்றைக் கற்பித்தார். 

இது கிறிஸ்து வழங்கும் நற்செய்தி.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, இயேசு வழியாக எப்போதும் நாம் கடவுளுக்குப் புகழ்ச்சிப் பலியைச் செலுத்துவோமாக. அவருடைய பெயரை அறிக்கையிடுவதன் வழியாக நம் உதடுகள் செலுத்தும் காணிக்கையே இப்புகழ்ச்சிப் பலியாகும். நன்மை செய்யவும் பகிர்ந்து வாழவும் மறவாதீர்கள். இவ்வகைப் பலிகளே கடவுளுக்கு உகந்தவை. உங்கள் தலைவர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியுங்கள்; அவர்களுக்குப் பணிந்திருங்கள். அவர்கள் உங்களைப் பற்றிக் கணக்குக் கொடுக்க வேண்டியிருப்பதால் உங்கள் நலனில் விழிப்பாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். இப்பணி அவர்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியுள்ளதாய் இருக்கும்படி நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். அவர்களுக்கு மனத்துயர் தராதீர்கள். அவர்களுடைய துயரம் உங்களுக்கு நலம் பயக்காது. என்றுமுள்ள உடன்படிக்கையின் இரத்தத்தால், ஆடுகளின் பெரும் ஆயரான நம் ஆண்டவர் இயேசுவை இறந்தோரிடமிருந்து எழுப்பியவர் அமைதியை அருளும் கடவுளே. அவர் தம் திருவுளத்தை நீங்கள் நிறைவேற்றும்படி, எல்லா நன்மையும் செய்வதற்கு உங்களை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தி, இயேசு கிறிஸ்து வழியாகத் தமக்கு உகந்ததை நம்மில் செய்தருள்வாராக! இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவுக்கே என்றென்றும் மாட்சி உரித்தாகுக! ஆமென்.

At that time, as the name of Jesus was becoming famous, King Herod heard about it. It was said: "It is John who baptized: he rose from the dead, and that is why miracles are performed through him." Some said, "This is the prophet Elijah. Others still said: "He is a prophet like those of old. "Herod heard these words and said:" The one whom I had beheaded, John, here he is risen! Because it was he, Herod, who had given the order to arrest John and chain him in prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, whom he himself had taken for wife. Indeed, John said to him: “You do not have the right to take your brother's wife. Herodias had a grudge against Jean, therefore, and she was trying to kill him. But she could not do it because Herod was afraid of John: he knew that he was a just and holy man, and he protected him; when he heard it he was very embarrassed; however he listened to her with pleasure. Now a favorable occasion arose when, on his birthday, Herod made a dinner for his dignitaries, for the chiefs of the army and for the notables of Galilee. Herodias daughter entered and danced. "Jesus Christ, yesterday and today, is the same, he is for eternity" 

the letter to the Hebrews (13, 1-8) 

Brothers, let fraternal love remain! Do not forget the hospitality: it has allowed some, without knowing it, to receive angels in their homes. Remember those who are in prison, as if you were prisoners with them. Remember those who are mistreated, for you too have a body. May marriage be honored by all, may marital union not be profaned, for debauchery and adultery will be judged by God. Let your conduct not be inspired by the love of money: be content with what you have, for God himself has said: I will never let you go, never I will forsake you. This is why we can say with all confidence: The Lord is my help, I have nothing to fear! What could a man do to me? Remember those who have led you: they have spoken the word of God to you. Meditate on the outcome of the life they led, and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ, yesterday and today, is the same, he is for eternity.
