பிப்ரவரி 28  :  முதல் வாசகம்

நம் முதுபெரும் தந்தை ஆபிரகாமின் பலி.

தொடக்க நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 22: 1-2, 9-13, 15-18

அந்நாள்களில்

கடவுள் ஆபிரகாமைச் சோதித்தார். அவர் அவரை நோக்கி, ஆபிரகாம்! என, அவரும் ‘இதோ! அடியேன்’ என்றார். அவர், “உன் மகனை, நீ அன்புகூரும் உன் ஒரே மகனான ஈசாக்கை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, மோரியா நிலப் பகுதிக்குச் செல். அங்கு நான் உனக்குக் காட்டும் மலைகளில் ஒன்றின் மேல் எரி பலியாக அவனை நீ பலியிட வேண்டும்” என்றார்.

ஆபிரகாமுக்குக் கடவுள் குறிப்பிட்டுச் சொல்லிய இடத்தை அவர்கள் அடைந்தனர். அங்கே ஆபிரகாம் ஒரு பலிபீடம் அமைத்து அதன்மேல் விறகுக் கட்டைகளை அடுக்கி வைத்தார். பின் தம் மகன் ஈசாக்கைக் கட்டி, பீடத்தின் மீதிருந்த விறகுக் கட்டைகளின்மேல் கிடத்தினார். ஆபிரகாம் தம் மகனை வெட்டுமாறு தம் கையை நீட்டிக் கத்தியைக் கையிலெடுத்தார்.

அப்பொழுது ஆண்டவரின் தூதர் வானத்தினின்று ‘ஆபிரகாம்! ஆபிரகாம்’ என்று கூப்பிட, அவர் ‘இதோ! அடியேன்’ என்றார். அவர், “பையன்மேல் கை வைக்காதே; அவனுக்கு எதுவும் செய்யாதே; உன் ஒரே மகனையும் எனக்குப் பலியிட நீ தயங்கவில்லை என்பதிலிருந்து நீ கடவுளுக்கு அஞ்சுபவன் என்று இப்போது நான் அறிந்துகொண்டேன்” என்றார். அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் தம் கண்களை உயர்த்திப் பார்த்தார். இதோ, முட்செடியில் கொம்பு மாட்டிக்கொண்டு நின்ற ஓர் ஆட்டுக்கிடாயைக் கண்டார். உடனே ஆபிரகாம் அங்குச் சென்று அந்தக் கிடாயைப் பிடித்துத் தம் மகனுக்குப் பதிலாக எரிபலியாக்கினார்.

ஆண்டவரின் தூதர் ஆபிரகாமை வானத்தினின்று மீண்டும் அழைத்து, “ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே! நான் என்மீது ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறுகிறேன். உன் ஒரே மகனை எனக்குப் பலியிடத் தயங்காமல் நீ இவ்வாறு செய்தாய். ஆதலால் நான் உன்மீது உண்மையாகவே ஆசி பொழிந்து விண்மீன்களைப்போலவும் கடற்கரை மணலைப் போலவும் உன் வழிமரபைப் பலுகிப் பெருகச் செய்வேன். உன் வழிமரபினர் தம் பகைவர்களின் வாயிலை உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்வர். மேலும், நீ என் குரலுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்ததனால் உலகின் அனைத்து இனத்தவரும் உன் வழிமரபின் மூலம் தங்களுக்கு ஆசி கூறிக்கொள்வர்” என்றார்.

Reading from the letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Romans (8, 31b-34) 

Brothers, if God is for us, who will be against us? He did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for all of us: how could he, with him, not give us everything? Who will accuse those whom God has chosen? God is the one who makes righteous: so who can condemn? Christ Jesus is dead; moreover, he is risen, he is at the right hand of God, he intercedes for us.

Reading from the book of Genesis (22, 1-2.9-13.15-18) 

In those days God put Abraham to the test. He said to him: “Abraham! The latter replied: "Here I am! God said: "Take your son, your only son, the one you love, Isaac, go to the land of Moriah, and there you will offer him as a burnt offering on the mountain that I will show you. They came to the place God had indicated. Abraham built the altar there and laid out the wood; then he bound his son Isaac and put him on the altar over the wood. Abraham stretched out his hand and grabbed the knife to sacrifice his son. But the angel of the Lord called him from on high and said: “Abraham! Abraham! He replied: "Here I am! "The angel said to him:" Do not lay your hand on the boy! Don't hurt her! I know now that you fear God: you did not refuse me your son, your only one. Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a bush. He went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

From heaven, the angel of the Lord called Abraham a second time. He declared: "I swear it by myself, oracle of the Lord: because you have done this, because you have not refused me your son, your only one, I will fill you with blessings, I will make your descendants so numerous. as the stars of the sky and the sand by the seashore, and your descendants shall occupy the strongholds of their enemies. Since you have listened to my voice, all the nations of the earth will address the blessing to one another by the name of your offspring. "

✠ மத்தேயு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 5: 43-48 

அக்காலத்தில் 

இயேசு தம் சீடரை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: ‘உனக்கு அடுத்திருப்பவரிடம் அன்பு கூர்வாயாக', ‘பகைவரிடம் வெறுப்புக் கொள்வாயாக’ எனக் கூறியிருப்பதைக் கேட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: உங்கள் பகைவரிடமும் அன்பு கூருங்கள்; உங்களைத் துன்புறுத்துவோருக்காக இறைவனிடம் வேண்டுங்கள். இப்படிச் செய்வதால் நீங்கள் உங்கள் விண்ணகத் தந்தையின் மக்கள் ஆவீர்கள். ஏனெனில் அவர் நல்லோர் மேலும் தீயோர் மேலும் தம் கதிரவனை உதித்தெழச் செய்கிறார். நேர்மையுள்ளோர் மேலும் நேர்மையற்றோர் மேலும் மழை பெய்யச் செய்கிறார். 

உங்களிடத்தில் அன்பு செலுத்துவோரிடமே நீங்கள் அன்பு செலுத்துவீர்களானால் உங்களுக்கு என்ன கைம்மாறு கிடைக்கும்? வரிதண்டுவோரும் இவ்வாறு செய்வதில்லையா? நீங்கள் உங்கள் சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளுக்கு மட்டும் வாழ்த்துக் கூறுவீர்களானால் நீங்கள் மற்றவருக்கும் மேலாகச் செய்துவிடுவதென்ன? பிற இனத்தவரும் இவ்வாறு செய்வதில்லையா? 

ஆதலால், உங்கள் விண்ணகத் தந்தை நிறைவுள்ளவராய் இருப்பதுபோல நீங்களும் நிறைவுள்ளவர்களாய் இருங்கள்.

இணைச்சட்ட நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 26: 16-19

மோசே மக்களை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: இந்த முறைமைகளையும் நியமங்களையும் நீ நிறைவேற்றுமாறு உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் இன்று உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டுள்ளார். உன் முழு இதயத்தோடும் முழு உள்ளத்தோடும் அவற்றை நிறைவேற்றுவதில் கருத்தாயிரு.

ஆண்டவரை உன் கடவுளாய் ஏற்பதாகவும், உனக்குக் கடவுளாக இருப்பார் என்றும், அவருடைய வழிகளில் நடப்பதாகவும், அவருடைய நியமங்களையும் கட்டளைகளையும் முறைமைகளையும் கடைப்பிடிப்பதாகவும், அவர் குரலுக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பதாகவும் இன்று நீ அவருக்கு வாக்களித்துள்ளாய்.

நீ அவருடைய கட்டளைகளைக் கடைப்பிடிப்பதில் கருத்தாயிருந்தால், அவர் கூறியபடியே நீ அவருக்குச் சொந்தமான மக்களினமாய் இருப்பாய் என்றும், அவர் உருவாக்கிய எல்லா மக்களினங்களிலும், புகழிலும், பெயரிலும், மாட்சியிலும் உன்னையே உயர்த்துவார் என்றும், அதனால் உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவரின் தூய மக்களினமாய் நீ இருப்பாய் என்றும் ஆண்டவர் இன்று உனக்கு வாக்களித்துள்ளார்.

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “You have heard that it has been said: You shall love your neighbor and you will hate your enemy. Well ! I say to you: Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may truly be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for he causes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good; he sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Indeed, if you love those who love you, what reward do you deserve? Do not the tax collectors themselves do the same? And if you only greet your brothers, what are you doing that is extraordinary? Do the pagans themselves not do the same? You therefore will be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect. "

"You will be a people consecrated to the Lord your God" 

Reading from the book of Deuteronomy (26, 16-19) 

Moses said to the people of Israel: “Today the Lord your God commands you to put into practice these decrees and ordinances. You will make sure to practice them with all your heart and with all your soul. Today you have obtained from the Lord this declaration: he will be your God; you, you will follow his ways, you will keep his decrees, his commandments and his ordinances, you will listen to his voice. Today the Lord has obtained from you this declaration: you will be his people, his particular domain, as he told you, you will have to keep all his commandments. He will make you exceed in prestige, fame and glory all the nations that he has made, and you will be a people consecrated to the Lord your God, as he has said. "
