Prescriptions concerning the paschal meal 

Reading from the book of Exodus (12, 1-8.11-14) 

In those days, in the land of Egypt, the Lord said to Moses and to his brother Aaron: “This month will be for you the first of months, it will mark for you the beginning of the year. Speak thus to the whole community of Israel: on the tenth of this month, let one take one lamb per family, one lamb per house. If the household is too small for a lamb, it will take it with its nearest neighbor, depending on the number of people. You will choose the lamb based on what everyone can eat. It will be a flawless beast, a male, of the year. You will take a lamb or a kid. You will keep it until the fourteenth day of the month. In the whole assembly of the community of Israel, they will sacrifice themselves at sunset. Blood will be taken and put on the two uprights and on the lintels of the houses where it will be eaten. Their flesh shall be eaten that night, and shall be eaten roasted in the fire, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. You will eat like this: belt around your back, sandals on your feet, stick in your hand. You will eat in haste: it is the Lord's Passover. I will pass through the land of Egypt that night; I will smite every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast. Against all the gods of Egypt I will exercise my judgments: I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign to you on the houses where you are. I will see the blood, and I will pass over; you shall not be struck by the plague with which I will strike the land of Egypt. You will eat in haste: it is the Lord's Passover. I will pass through the land of Egypt that night; I will smite every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast. Against all the gods of Egypt I will exercise my judgments: I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign to you on the houses where you are. I will see the blood, and I will pass over; you shall not be struck by the plague with which I will strike the land of Egypt. You will eat in haste: it is the Lord's Passover. I will pass through the land of Egypt that night; I will smite every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast. Against all the gods of Egypt I will exercise my judgments: I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign to you on the houses where you are. I will see the blood, and I will pass over; you shall not be struck by the plague with which I will strike the land of Egypt.

That day will be a memorial to you. You will make it a feast of pilgrimage for the Lord. It is a perpetual decree: from age to age you will celebrate it. "

அக்காலத்தில்

பன்னிருவருள் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாசு இஸ்காரியோத்து தலைமைக் குருவிடம் வந்து, ‘‘இயேசுவை உங்களுக்கு நான் காட்டிக்கொடுத்தால் எனக்கு என்ன தருவீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டான். அவர்களும் முப்பது வெள்ளிக் காசுகளை எண்ணி அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள். அதுமுதல் அவன் அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பதற்கு வாய்ப்புத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

புளிப்பற்ற அப்ப விழாவின் முதல் நாளில் சீடர்கள் இயேசுவை அணுகி வந்து, ‘‘நீர் பாஸ்கா விருந்துண்ண நாங்கள் எங்கே ஏற்பாடு செய்யவேண்டும் என விரும்புகிறீர்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களிடம், ‘‘நீங்கள் புறப்பட்டு நகருக்குள் சென்று இன்னாரிடம் போய், ‘எனது நேரம் நெருங்கி வந்துவிட்டது; என் சீடர்களோடு உம் வீட்டில் பாஸ்கா கொண்டாடப்போகிறேன்’ எனப் போதகர் கூறுகிறார் எனச் சொல்லுங்கள்” என்றார். இயேசு தங்களுக்குப் பணித்தபடியே சீடர்கள் செயல்பட்டுப் பாஸ்கா விருந்துக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்தார்கள்.

மாலை வேளையானதும் அவர் பன்னிருவரோடும் பந்தியில் அமர்ந்தார். அவர்கள் உண்டுகொண்டிருந்தபொழுது அவர், ‘‘உங்களுள் ஒருவன் என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான் என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்” என்றார். அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் மிகவும் வருத்தமுற்றவர்களாய், ‘‘ஆண்டவரே, அது நானோ?” என ஒவ்வொருவரும் அவரிடம் கேட்கத் தொடங்கினார்கள். அதற்கு அவர், ‘‘என்னுடன் பாத்திரத்தில் தொட்டு உண்பவனே என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான். மானிடமகன், தம்மைப்பற்றி மறைநூலில் எழுதியுள்ளபடியே போகிறார். ஆனால், ஐயோ! அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறவனுக்குக் கேடு; அம்மனிதன் பிறவாதிருந்தால் அவனுக்கு நலமாய் இருந்திருக்கும்” என்றார். அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்த யூதாசும் ‘‘ரபி, நானோ?” என அவரிடம் கேட்க, இயேசு, ‘‘நீயே சொல்லிவிட்டாய்” என்றார்.

என்னோடு வழக்காடுபவன் எவன்? நாம் இருவரும் எதிர் எதிரே நிற்போம்; என்மீது குற்றஞ்சாட்டுபவன் எவன்? அவன் என்னை நெருங்கட்டும். இதோ, ஆண்டவராகிய என் தலைவர் எனக்குத் துணை நிற்கின்றார்; நான் குற்றவாளி எனத் தீர்ப்பிட யாரால் இயலும்?

“The Son of man is going, as it is written; but unhappy he by whom it is delivered! " 

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Matthew (26, 14-25) 

At that time, one of the Twelve, named Judas Iscariot, went to the high priests and said to them: "What will you give me if I deliver it to you?" They handed him thirty pieces of silver. And ever since, Judas had been looking for a favorable opportunity to hand him over.

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came up and said to Jesus, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?" »He said to them:« Go to the city, to so and so, and say to him: 'The Master makes you say: My time is at hand; it is with you that I want to celebrate the Passover with my disciples. ” The disciples did as Jesus commanded them and they prepared the Passover.

In the evening, Jesus was at table with the Twelve. During the meal, he declared: “Amen, I say it to you: one of you is going to deliver me. Deeply saddened, they began to ask him, each in turn, "Could it be me, Lord?" "Speaking, he said:" Whoever served the dish at the same time as me, that one is going to deliver me. Psalm 68 (69) 

It is for you that I endure the insult,

that shame covers my face:

I am a stranger to my brothers,

a stranger to my mother's sons.

The love of your house has lost me;

you are insulted, and the insult falls on me. R 

The insult crushed my heart,

the disease is incurable;

I hoped for help, but in vain,

comforters, I did not find any.

They have mixed poison with my bread;

when I was thirsty they gave me vinegar. R 

But I will praise the name of God with a song,

I will magnify it, give thanks to it.

The poor have seen it, they are celebrating:

“Life and joy, to you who seek God! "

For the Lord listens to the humble,

he does not forget his imprisoned ones. R

"I did not hide my face in the face of outrages" 

Reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah (50, 4-9a) 

The Lord my God has given me the language of the disciples, so that I can support the weary one with one word. Every morning, he awakens, he awakens my ear so that as a disciple, I listen. The Lord my God opened my ear, and I did not rebel, I did not shy away. I presented my back to those who hit me, and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard. I did not hide my face from insults and spitting. The Lord my God comes to my aid; this is why I am not affected by outrages, this is why I made my face as hard as a stone: I know that I will not be confused. He is near, the One who justifies me. Does anyone want to argue against me? Let's appear together! Does anyone want to sue me? Let him come towards me! Here is the Lord my God, he takes my defense; who will condemn me?

அக்காலத்தில்

தம் சீடர்களுடன் பந்தியமர்ந்த இயேசு உள்ளம் கலங்கியவராய், “உங்களுள் ஒருவன் என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான் என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்” என்று திட்டவட்டமாகக் கூறினார். யாரைப்பற்றி அவர் இப்படிக் கூறினார் என்று தெரியாமல் சீடர்கள் குழப்பமுற்று ஒருவரை ஒருவர் நோக்கினார்கள்.

இயேசுவின் சீடருள் ஒருவர் அவர் அருகில் அவர் மார்புப் பக்கமாய்ச் சாய்ந்திருந்தார். அவர்மேல் இயேசு அன்புகொண்டிருந்தார். சீமோன் பேதுரு அவருக்குச் சைகை காட்டி, “யாரைப்பற்றிக் கூறுகிறார் எனக் கேள்” என்றார். இயேசுவின் அருகில் அவர் மார்புப் பக்கமாய்ச் சாய்ந்திருந்த அவர், “ஆண்டவரே அவன் யார்?” என்று கேட்டார். இயேசு மறுமொழியாக, “நான் யாருக்கு அப்பத் துண்டைத் தோய்த்துக் கொடுக்கிறேனோ அவன்தான்” எனச் சொல்லி, அப்பத் துண்டைத் தோய்த்துச் சீமோன் இஸ்காரியோத்தின் மகனாகிய யூதாசுக்குக் கொடுத்தார். அவன் அப்பத் துண்டைப் பெற்றதும் சாத்தான் அவனுக்குள் நுழைந்தான்.

இயேசு அவனிடம், “நீ செய்ய இருப்பதை விரைவில் செய்” என்றார். இயேசு ஏன் அவனிடம் இப்படிக் கூறினார் என்பதைப் பந்தியில் அமர்ந்திருந்தோர் யாரும் புரிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை. பணப்பை யூதாசிடம் இருந்ததால், திருவிழாவுக்குத் தேவையானதை வாங்கவோ ஏழைகளுக்கு ஏதாவது கொடுக்கவோ இயேசு அவனிடம் கூறியிருக்கலாம் என்று சிலர் நினைத்துக்கொண்டனர். யூதாசு அப்பத் துண்டைப் பெற்றுக் கொண்டவுடன் வெளியே போனான். அது இரவு நேரம்.

அவன் வெளியே போனபின் இயேசு, “இப்போது மானிடமகன் மாட்சி பெற்றுள்ளார். அவர் வழியாகக் கடவுளும் மாட்சி பெற்றுள்ளார். கடவுள் அவர் வழியாக மாட்சி பெற்றாரானால் கடவுளும் தம் வழியாய் அவரை மாட்சிப்படுத்துவார்; அதையும் உடனே செய்வார். பிள்ளைகளே, இன்னும் சிறிது காலமே உங்களோடு இருப்பேன். நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேடுவீர்கள். ஆனால் நான் போகும் இடத்திற்கு உங்களால் வர இயலாது. இதையே யூதர்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்; இப்போது உங்களுக்கும் சொல்கிறேன்” என்றார்.

சீமோன் பேதுரு இயேசுவிடம், “ஆண்டவரே, நீர் எங்கே போகிறீர்?” என்று கேட்டார். இயேசு மறுமொழியாக, “நான் போகுமிடத்திற்கு என்னைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து வர இப்போது உன்னால் இயலாது; பின்னரே என்னைப் பின்தொடர்வாய்” என்றார். பேதுரு அவரிடம், “ஆண்டவரே ஏன் இப்போது நான் உம்மைப் பின்தொடர இயலாது? உமக்காக என் உயிரையும் கொடுப்பேன்” என்றார். இயேசு அவரைப் பார்த்து, “எனக்காக உயிரையும் கொடுப்பாயோ? நீ மும்முறை என்னை மறுதலிக்குமுன் சேவல் கூவாது என உறுதியாக உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்” என்றார்.

ஆண்டவரே! உம்மிடம் நான் அடைக்கலம் புகுந்துள்ளேன்; ஒருபோதும் நான் வெட்கமுற விடாதேயும்.

உமது நீதிக்கேற்ப என்னை விடுவித்தருளும்; எனக்கு நீர் செவிசாய்த்து என்னை மீட்டுக்கொள்ளும். - பல்லவி

என் அடைக்கலப் பாறையாக நீர் இருந்தருளும்; கோட்டை அரணாயிருந்து என்னை மீட்டருளும்; ஏனெனில், நீர் எனக்குக் கற்பாறையாகவும் அரணாகவும் இருக்கின்றீர்.

என் வாய் நாள்தோறும் உமது நீதியையும் நீர் அருளும் மீட்பையும் எடுத்துரைக்கும்; உம் அருட்செயல்களை என்னால் கணிக்க இயலாது.

கடவுளே, என் இளமைமுதல் எனக்குக் கற்பித்து வந்தீர்; இனிவரும் நாள்களிலும் உம் வியத்தகு செயல்களை அறிவிப்பேன். - பல்லவி

நற்செய்திக்கு முன் வசனம்

பரம தந்தைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகின்ற எங்கள் அரசரே, போற்றப் பெறுக; அடிக்கக் கொண்டுபோகப்படும் சாந்தமான செம்மறிபோல நீர் சிலுவையில் அறையப்படக் கொண்டு செல்லப்படுகிறீர்.

தீவு நாட்டினரே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்; தொலைவாழ் மக்களினங்களே, கவனியுங்கள்; கருப்பையில் இருக்கும்போதே ஆண்டவர் என்னை அழைத்தார்; என் தாய் வயிற்றில் உருவாகும்போதே என் பெயர் சொல்லிக் கூப்பிட்டார். என் வாயைக் கூரான வாள்போன்று ஆக்கினார்; தம் கையின் நிழலால் என்னைப் பாதுகாத்தார்; என்னைப் பளபளக்கும் அம்பு ஆக்கினார்; தம் அம்பறாத் தூணியில் என்னை மறைத்துக்கொண்டார்.
