முகமலர்ச்சியோடு கொடுப்பவரே கடவுளின் அன்புக்கு உரியவர்.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய இரண்டாம் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 9: 6-11

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

குறைவாக விதைப்பவர் குறைவாக அறுவடை செய்வார். நிறைவாக விதைப்பவர் நிறைவாக அறுவடை செய்வார். இதைத் தெரிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். ஒவ்வொருவரும் தம்முள் தீர்மானித்தபடியே கொடுக்கட்டும். மனவருத்தத்தோடோ கட்டாயத்தினாலோ கொடுக்க வேண்டாம். முகமலர்ச்சியோடு கொடுப்பவரே கடவுளின் அன்புக்கு உரியவர்.

கடவுள் உங்களை எல்லா நலன்களாலும் நிரப்ப வல்லவர். எந்தச் சூழ்நிலையிலும் எப்போதும் தேவையானதெல்லாம் உங்களுக்குத் தருவார்; அனைத்து நற்செயல்களையும் செய்வதற்குத் தேவையானதெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு மிகுதியாகவே தருவார். “ஒருவர் ஏழைகளுக்கு வாரி வாரி வழங்கும்போது அவரது நீதி என்றென்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்” என்று மறைநூலில் எழுதியுள்ளது அல்லவா!

விதைப்பவருக்கு விதையையும், உண்பதற்கு உணவையும் வழங்குபவர், விதைப்பதற்கு வேண்டிய விதைகளை வழங்கி அவை முளைத்து வளரச் செய்து அறச் செயல்களாகிய விளைச்சலை மிகுதியாகத் தருவார். நீங்கள் எல்லா வகையிலும் செல்வர்களாகி வள்ளன்மை மிகுந்தவர்களாய் விளங்குவீர்கள். இவ்வாறு எங்கள் பணி வழியாய்ப் பலர் கடவுளுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவர்.

“Your Father who sees in secret will reward you”  

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Matthew (6, 1-6.16-18) 

At that time, Jesus was saying to his disciples: “Avoid doing what you do to become righteous in front of men to get noticed. Otherwise, there is no reward for you with your Father who is in heaven. So, when you give alms, do not sound the trumpet in front of you, like the hypocrites who perform in synagogues and in the streets, to obtain the glory that comes from men. Amen, I tell you, these have received their reward. But you, when you give alms, let your left hand ignore what your right hand is doing, so that your alms remain secret; your Father who sees in secret will pay it back to you.

And when you pray, don't be like the hypocrites: they like to stand in synagogues and at crossroads to show themselves well to men when they pray. Amen, I tell you, these have received their reward. But you, when you pray, retire to your most secluded room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is present in secret; your Father who sees in secret will pay it back to you.

And when you fast, do not look downcast, like the hypocrites: they look defeated to show men that they are fasting. Amen, I tell you, these have received their reward. But you, when you fast, perfume your head and wash your face; thus, your fast will not be known to men, but only to your Father who is present in the most secret; your Father who sees in the most secret will pay it back to you. "

"God loves the one who gives joyfully" 

A Reading from the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (9, 6-11) 

Brothers, remember the proverb: To sow too little, we reap too little; to sow widely, we harvest widely. May each give as he has decided in his heart, without regret and without constraint, for God loves those who give joyfully. And God is powerful enough to give you all grace in abundance, so that you always have everything you need, and even that you have in abundance to do all kinds of good. Scripture says of the righteous man: He distributes, he gives to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. God, who provides the seed for the sower and the bread for food, will provide you with the seed; he will multiply it, he will give growth to what you accomplish in righteousness. He will make you rich in generosity of all kinds, which will spark our thanksgiving to God.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடருக்குக் கூறியது: “ ‘உனக்கு அடுத்திருப்பவரிடம் அன்பு கூர்வாயாக', ‘பகைவரிடம் வெறுப்புக் கொள்வாயாக’ எனக் கூறியிருப்பதைக் கேட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: உங்கள் பகைவரிடமும் அன்புகூருங்கள்; உங்களைத் துன்புறுத்துவோருக்காக இறைவனிடம் வேண்டுங்கள். இப்படிச் செய்வதால் நீங்கள் உங்கள் விண்ணகத் தந்தையின் மக்கள் ஆவீர்கள். ஏனெனில் அவர் நல்லோர் மேலும் தீயோர் மேலும் தம் கதிரவனை உதித்தெழச் செய்கிறார். நேர்மையுள்ளோர் மேலும் நேர்மையற்றோர் மேலும் மழை பெய்யச் செய்கிறார்.

உங்களிடத்தில் அன்பு செலுத்துவோரிடமே நீங்கள் அன்பு செலுத்துவீர் களானால் உங்களுக்கு என்ன கைம்மாறு கிடைக்கும்? வரிதண்டுவோரும் இவ்வாறு செய்வதில்லையா? நீங்கள் உங்கள் சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளுக்கு மட்டும் வாழ்த்துக் கூறுவீர்களானால் நீங்கள் மற்றவருக்கும் மேலாகச் செய்துவிடுவதென்ன? பிற இனத்தவரும் இவ்வாறு செய்வதில்லையா? ஆதலால், உங்கள் விண்ணகத் தந்தை நிறைவுள்ளவராய் இருப்பதுபோல நீங்களும் நிறைவுள்ளவர்களாய் இருங்கள்.”

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய இரண்டாம் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 8: 1-9

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே, மாசிதோனியத் திருச்சபைகளுக்குக் கடவுள் கொடுத்த அருளைப் பற்றி உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்த விரும்புகிறோம். அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட இன்னல்களால் கடுமையாகச் சோதிக்கப் பட்டபோதும் அவர்கள் எப்போதும் மகிழ்ச்சி நிறைந்தவர்களாய் இருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் வறுமையில் மூழ்கி இருந்தாலும் வள்ளன்மையோடு வாரி வழங்கினார்கள். அவர்கள் தங்களால் இயன்ற அளவுக்குத் தாங்களாகவே கொடுத்தார்கள். ஏன், அளவுக்கு மீறியே கொடுத்தார்கள். இதற்கு நானே சாட்சி. இறைமக்களுக்குச் செய்யும் அறப்பணியில் பங்கு பெறும் பேறு தங்களுக்கும் அளிக்கப்படவேண்டும் என மிகவும் வருந்திக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள்.

நாங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்ததற்கு மேலாக அவர்கள் தங்களை முதன்மையாக ஆண்டவருக்கு அர்ப்பணித்தார்கள்; நாங்கள் கடவுளின் திருவுளப்படி செயல்படுவதால், எங்களுக்கும் தங்களை அர்ப்பணித்தார்கள். எனவே இந்த அறப்பணியைத் தொடங்கிய தீத்துவே அப்பணியை முடிக்க வேண்டும் என நாங்கள் அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டோம்.

நம்பிக்கை, நாவன்மை, அறிவு, பேரார்வம் ஆகிய அனைத்தையும் மிகுதியாய்க் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். எங்கள்மேல் நீங்கள் கொண்டுள்ள அன்பும் பெருகிக்கொண்டு வருகிறது. அதுபோல் இந்த அறப்பணியிலும் நீங்கள் முழுமையாய் ஈடுபடவேண்டும். நான் இதை உங்களுக்கு ஒரு கட்டளையாகச் சொல்லவில்லை. மாறாக, பிறருடைய ஆர்வத்தை எடுத்துக்காட்டி உங்கள் அன்பு உண்மையானதா எனச் சோதிக்கவே இவ்வாறு செய்கிறேன். நம் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் அருள் செயலை அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே! அவர் செல்வராய் இருந்தும் உங்களுக்காக ஏழையானார். அவருடைய ஏழ்மையினால் நீங்கள் செல்வராகுமாறு இவ்வாறு செய்தார்.

At that time Jesus was saying to his disciples: “You have heard that it has been said: You shall love your neighbor and you will hate your enemy. Well ! I say to you: Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may truly be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for he causes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, he sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Indeed, if you love those who love you, what reward do you deserve? Don't the tax collectors themselves do the same? And if you only greet your brothers, what are you doing that is extraordinary? Do the pagans themselves not do the same? You therefore will be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect. "

"Christ became poor because of you" 

A Reading from the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (8, 1-9) 

Brothers, we want to share with you the grace that God has given to the Churches of Macedonia. In the many distresses which put them to the test, the abundance of their joy and their extreme poverty overflowed in treasures of generosity. They put all their means into it, and even more, I am witnessing; spontaneously, with great insistence, they asked us as a grace to be able to unite with us to help the faithful in Jerusalem. Even beyond our expectations, they gave themselves first to the Lord, and then to us, by the will of God. And as Titus had already started this generous work with you, we asked him to go to the end. Since you have everything in abundance, faith, the Word, the knowledge of God, all kind of eagerness and the love that comes to you from us, may there also be abundance in your generous gift! This is not an order that I am giving, but I am talking about the eagerness of others to verify the authenticity of your charity. You know in fact the generous gift of our Lord Jesus Christ: he who is rich, he became poor because of you, so that you might become rich through his poverty.
